the location, the staff, the facilities available in the room. the area is very pleasant and the transport facilities are excellent. the staff was extremely friendly and polite, always ready to accommodate any requests we had. unfortunately I haven't had a chance to try the food in the pub but it looked delicious. the heating and the air con worked really well which was important as it was quite cold during our stay. same goes for hot water: always available and easy to grade to out preferred temperature. the tea/coffee amenities were a life.saver, as we ended up having a few snacks in our room (that's why we missed having a place to sit ;-))

I missed a few things, mainly details, but which would have improved my experience: a mini fridge and seating options in the bedroom, even if just a pair of small stools under the counter, would have made a difference. Besides that, the shower doesn't have a door, just a glass pane half the size of the shower, which doesn't prevent the whole floor from becoming wet while showering.

The property was very cosy with opulent decor. The location was fantastic for us to visit family. Our rooms very clean and decor lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable. The food in the pub was exceptional, all very well presented and tasty with the added bonus of 20% discount for pub guests. The staff were so accommodating, especially helpful and couldn’t do enough for my 90 yr old father. Although the pub was very busy, once you were behind the fire doors and into your room it was very tranquil. We will definitely being going back.

The only issue for myself was that there wasn’t sufficient light in the room for me to apply makeup and do my hair, a large lighted mirror would have made all the difference.

Overall the Westow is very good for the price. It is in the upper levels of a local pub. While very active in the evenings, the pub noise is not noticed in the rooms. It is on a fairly busy street corner so there are occasional issues with traffic noise, but nothing that keeps you awake all night. The staff is generally friendly and easy to work with. Rooms are tidy and clean. The beds, while comfortable, are not huge; about a full size by U.S. standards. The location is convenient to local shopping and transportation. Both the bus stop and the train station are an easy walk although the hotel is at the top of a long hill so the walk up at the end of the day can be a bit laborious. We have stayed here a few times and have not been disappointed.

The negatives are somewhat minor. While neat and clean, the rooms generally lack storage space/luggage racks so you must "live out of your luggage" which means moving your case from the floor to the bed to gain access to your things. Bed size has been commented on above. Finally, there are no electrical plugs (other than razor outlets) in the bathrooms so you must use dryers and curling irons in the main room.

Room was well thought out, with a really comfortable bed and a great view. All the staff were lovely - friendly and helpful. Also, the sound insulation was brilliant - we couldn't hear the party that was going on down the corridor at all. Tasty breakfast. Finally, it had great transport links, with Crystal Palace bus station less than 2 minutes walk away Overall, we had a great stay and, if we needed somewhere again to stay in the area, this would definitely be our first choice.

The room did smell slightly - as though a dog had been sleeping in there. The fan in the shower didn't seem to be working. One of the guests taking a shower at 3:30am and managing to set off the fire alarms in the process - fortunately reset before we got outside.

I love the Westow pub, I’ve been quite a few times when I lived in London but never stayed over. I wasnt expecting much from a pub hotel but our room was lovely. Stylish, modern, clean. I additionally liked the security of having to have a key card to actually gain access to your floor. Also have to mention it was amazing to have AC in the bedroom. We stayed during a summery hot day and it was a blessing to have a cool room at night. I’ve stayed in much more expensive hotels on summer days and they just provided a fan! I thought it would be super noisy, but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t. We added breakfast to our stay and was lovely, could choose anything from the breakfast menu and came with a lovely coffee too. Also all staff were super lovely, friendly and helpful.

I have no complaints

Got there and there were 2 men on the door who were friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick and simple, everything was explained in detail. The room was nice, on second floor which was a bit of a struggle for me due to a disability but I didn't let them know in advance so that's really on me. The bed was very comfortable! Bit of outside noise, but again, that's on us for choosing to stay close to the event we attended and it is on a main road so a bit of traffic noise was expected but it wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be. Overall was a very nice place to stay, would definitely stay again.

From checkin to checkout, all staff were great. The bed was so comfortable; although I didn't sleep well for other reasons than the bed, it was a lovely place to rest. The outdoor space was great - a good place to sit, relax and watch the world go by. Air conditioning in the bedrooms.

The TV. There appeared to be no information about the TV channels, so it was a bit hit and miss. I think it's Freeview of which I have no experience. I don't need TV, but when I'm showering etc, or just resting it's nice to know where to go :-) A small fridge would have been nice to to keep our water cold (not provided by the hotel)

Very welcoming on check in and Mark carried my suitcase upstairs which was so helpful. Our family party enjoyed a meal on first night and staff were extremely accommodating when time had to be changed. Great service during meal. Stayed in superior room which was a good size with lovely bathroom and excellent, warm shower.

Although breakfast, on the whole, was very good, sourdough toast was a wee bit too hard to bite and my son had chewy pancakes on day 2. This is just a very small point as really enjoyed our stay.

Location was perfect for our needs. The room was a good size, bed very comfortable. Bathroom very good, decent size and excellent shower. Parking was easy, it had been a concern. We were on the second floor - I think that, had we been on the first floor, it would have been noisier (bar below). As it was, we were aware of road noise but it was not a problem at all.

Reception for rooms seemed a bit of an afterthought - found it with difficulty. But very helpful once found. No hairdryer in the room (that we could find).

Super comfy & clean bed & pillows. Surprisingly quiet room even though the property is situated on a busy junction & the pub below was vibrant. Great shower & clean towels. Good aircon. Nice choice of tea, coffee & biscuits in room. Felt secure as keycard required to gain access to the floor as well as the room.

A lot of steps to get to room. Quite a cosy room with the only place for hanging any clothing was some coat hangers hung on the wall lights - not a problem for a one night stay but might be if you were staying longer.
