It's a truly old pub and leans into that with lots of dark wood and being quite dimly lit. We had a room in a converted building (think it might have been an old barn) which had been beautifully decorated with muted tones that gave it a nice calm feeling. They provide tea/coffee making facilities in the room and include some really nice coffee bags that are much nicer than the standard instant sachets you normally get. While we were there they weren't doing breakfasts during the week but we got round this by bringing some cereal bars with us and having coffee in the room. Dinner in the pub was lovely, the food was excellent and the staff were friendly. Great location for some good long (25km+) hikes, use the OS App for routes!
Unfortunately they weren't doing breakfast during the week which was a real shame (I hadn't spotted it before booking) but we did get to have breakfast on our last morning (Saturday) and it was delicious. Being a very old building there was a bit of an issue with hearing people above us due to creaky floorboards, thankfully there's not much reason to be up and about late at night due to the rural location but if you're an early to bed light sleeper you might be disturbed if you're downstairs.

One of the most beautiful and relaxing stays The property is located in the heart of the English countryside. If you love nature and animals, it is truly an enchanting place. What can we say about our stay? The room was super cosy and clean, but the bed made all the difference: we slept exceptionally well. We chose to have dinner there, and we made the right choice! Local products cooked to perfection! If you can, book for the weekend: breakfast is worth it. It was a surprise for us, but it was definitely the highlight of a fantastic short stay.

The pub was rustic and cosy. Our room was small but perfectly adequate for our stay. Staff were extremely friendly. Food was of a high standard. We would be happy to stay again. A number of attractions and things to visit in a suitable driving distance.
Could hear noise from other rooms next door and above I.e toilet flush footsteps above etc. Nothing else in the village such as alternate dining or a local shop.

Michael was very helpful when we arrived, he made sure our rooms were next to each other, helped us settle in. Very dog friendly , our Dave was well catered for and made a fuss of. They had also booked us in for dinner during the booking process. The food was exceptional, with delightful, prompt service, nothing was too much trouble. A peaceful location ensured a good night's sleep. Highly recommended
It was a little dark in the bar, dining area. Created a nice atmosphere, so wasn't a negative persay, just a personal thing. Breakfast would've been nice, but only available at weekends. Again, not a deal breaker, but it would have rounded our stay off nicely

The pub has great atmosphere. There was a roaring fire in the bar which we didn't want to move away from. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was excellent.
The only drawback was the very small window in the bathroom. When we used the shower, the bathroom was very steamy. The bedroom had no windows so imagine it would be very hot in the summer, unless fans are provided.

Had lunch when we arrived which was very good home made food. Provided breakfast which was also enjoyable. Staff very friendly and helpful. First evening went to bar for a drink, even though busy was able to get served quickly and the pub atmosphere was good. Would recommend.
Could do with some drawers to put things away and only three hooks on the wall for hanging. The bathroom was cold and draughty unfortunately. Otherwise clean and well presented.

The room was a nice size and had coffee and tea selection. The Rituals toiletries in the bathroom were also a nice touch. The property had a really sunny beer garden so it was perfect to relax and have a sundowner in the evening. Mike was really friendly and organised us a cab in the morning when we were looking to leave the property.
The bed was on castor wheels, which wasn't ideal as you sat down or leant against it and it slid across the floor. There wasn't a huge selection of herbal tea.

The Inn itself was wonderful, a real cozy, typical Cotswolds inn from the 1600s, with good food and ales. We enjoyed a drink outside on the sunny terrace. Breakfast (only on weekends) was delicious.
The room was in a building next door to the Inn, was a bit small, with a narrow creaky hallway to get there -- but it was OK.

Excellent food - I had porridge and my husband had a cooked English breakfast, and avocado and poached egg on the second day. Dinner was delicious. All staff very friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly too.
Toilet seat in our room needs fixing. Room was not made up or tea/ coffee refilled during our stay. A box of tissues would be useful.

Breakfast was very nice good mixed breakfast to choose from. All staff were attentive. Loved the location. Would stay again. It’s a busy place. The room we had was the last one. I’d have booked a bigger one if I could.
No plug socket on both sides of bed. USB plug under the TV did not work. Bathroom door hits you when stirring on the toilet. Hurts your knees😂.
