Location was excellent, really close to the main attraction- Corn Du and Pen y fan. Setting was rural and peaceful although you do have a main road running alongside the pub. This is still is very quiet though with very little traffic! The pub itself is super cosy, with traditional features such as huge hearth like fireplaces and wooden beams. Our bedroom was so cute and had a lovely welsh slate window. The bed was so comfortable! Best 4 nights sleep I have had in AGES!
Nothing we didn’t like! For us, this type of stay is what we were looking for. Family run, relaxed and welcoming.

Tanners Arms is still the centre of village life in Devynock, well frequented by locals who were engaging with a solo visitor like myself. Witnessed a 60th birthday celebration where the ladies clearly knew how to party and had been doing so since their respective “Hen Nights”! And Saturday early evening where 3 or 4 generations of the family had lunch along side mourners returning from a wake. Simple menu well cooked with good sized portions and reasonably priced. Breakfast is cooked to order so comes out fresh and hot, not like some establishments where the food was cooked hours before and kept warm on a hot plate. Single room was small, as expected, but comfortable and had all the amenities you could wish for.
4 hour drive to get here from home!

They serve a great pint of cider. This little pub is used by locals, lively on a Saturday night but not at all noisy. Nice and friendly. The single room was not massive but not too small, just cosy. The shower was hot and the bed, comfy. I can't comment on the food as I didn't have any (but wished that I had.) So, good cider + warm, comfy bed + hot shower = happy me.
The parking can be a little tight during a Saturday night but then again, the pub was built centuries before cars came along. That doesn't distract from the stay though. I'm very likely to return when I next need a bed up Brecon way.

We had dinner and breakfast here when passing through on a motorbike holiday. It had a good selection of beer and outside space to sit in the sun. The staff were lovely and very friendly. Nothing was too much! Room was comfy and quiet and seperate from the pub.
The mattress in the room was very soft. Complete personal preference where we both sleep better on a firmer bed, so we didnt sleep very well. Would perhaps be good to have an option of a room with firmer mattress.

Delightful guest accommodation and the most comfortable bed encountered during our holiday. Excellent shower and attractive bedlinen. The pub was warm and friendly with a very jolly atmosphere. We liked the autumnal decorations. Our chicken and mushroom pies were nice and good value and breakfast kept us satisfied all day. Lovely countryside.
On a fairly busy main road but traffic was minimal overnight. We had to wait a bit for our dinner to arrive but there was a darts fixture on so the delay was understandable.

Stopped here on a motorcycle trip through Wales. Very friendly owner and good value for money. Quiet little single room out the back of the pub. Good selection of beer and nice to finish the evening with a Welsh whiskey. Had a nice safe place to park the bike out the back of the pub.
Pub is a little bit in the middle of nowhere, which is nice but does mean you are only gonna be eating there.... food was fine but pretty standard pub fare.

Great hosts, nothing too much trouble and very welcoming. A typical small family run pub, lovely food and charming spooky seasonal decor. We will be going back.....!!
Maybe a slightly firmer mattress, my wife like a hard mattress!! Nothing that won't stop us returning!!

breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty, location was great for exploring the local area . also the evening food was also of a high standard. village was lovely well worth a stroll down to the local village church also the international welsh rarebit centre next door is well worth a visit for an amazing tasty lunch.
not quite as many beers on tap as i expected but other than that it was a lovely little cozy pub .

The room was quiet and not affected by the pub activity. There were several extras included: full size ironing board and iron - quality hair dryer - complintary bottles of water - small fridge. The premises were very clean and the team of staff very smiley and welcoming. The Breakfasts were excellent with lots of choice. The pub had a great atmosphere and our Dinner was very good.
The room was a bit dark but that is the nature of this old building

The living room feeling of the pub and the good location, central to most activities in the area. Food in the pub is good and reasonably priced. Host is knowledgeable and happy to share information on the area.
The room was as small as advertised, but if you only use the room to sleep and shower it is adequate enough. Could hear the neighbours in the next room a bit.
