Where to start? We have just returned from an absolutely fantastic stay at the New White Lion. We were given a free room upgrade, a room with a bath which was perfect after our days out walking. This is a high end B&B and very tastefully decorated and so clean. We enjoyed making use of the lounge area and honesty bar. There were always plenty of goodies in the lounge to help ourselves to, (we took cookies to eat after our walk). Breakfast was superb, all fresh and local produce. Mark and Karen are fantastic hosts. They have only been running this business since last October and we wish them the future success they so deserve.

Fantastic welcome from Mark and Karen who could not have done more to make our stay memorable. They are exceptional hosts. Our room was beautifully styled and a delight to stay in with a very comfy bed, little treats of chocolate and fudge, quality biscuits and drinks including thoughtful touches like fresh milk. The breakfasts were amazing with very generous portions and we were urged to help ourselves to cake and fruit for the day and our coffee flask always filled for us. An extensive honesty bar and lovely lounge area were brilliant extras. A B&B which we would be delighted to go back to and which is an absolute gem!

Booked as we were attending a wedding in nearby Myddfai. This is a fantastic property in the heart of Llandovery, Mark and Karen are superb hosts. Mark contacted me the evening before arrival to welcome us and advise re parking - nice touch. Both Mark and Karen were waiting to welcome us on arrival. All rooms are individually decorated and named and have excellent facilities - tea /coffee/milk/ bathrobes/ chocolates and a small mini fridge on the landing for cold drinks etc. The lounge has a small "honesty bar" and is very comfortable. All the public areas are beautifully decorated and comfortable, as are the bedrooms. Karen made us breakfast to order on both mornings - it was delicious. The wedding was early on Saturday, so Mark arranged for us to pre-order our breakfast to save time- thank you Mark. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Llandovery, look no further- The New White Lion is excellent on all levels - I cannot recommend it highly enough.

We stayed at the New White Lion for 3 nights at Easter. Mark and Karen were wonderful hosts (Poppy the spaniel too!), they received us a bit earlier than the arranged check-in and were very accommodating. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The chocolates in the room were a thoughtful plus. While doing the check in, Mark showed the Hotel facilities, of particualr interest was the lounge with a small but well stocked bar with excellent cakes made by Karen - all very tasty! The breakfast was a high point, outstanding! We ordered the cooked breakfast, which was amazing, accompanied by excellent coffee and pastries. The yoghurts made by Karen were particularly delicious. Mark and Karen are doing a brilliant job in running this little gem of a hotel. Llandovery, is an excellent location to explore the Brecon Beacons as well as South Wales. The town, although small, has quite a few nice pubs and cafes, a perfect place to stay for a weekend. We definitely recommend this hotel.

The ambiance of the property and hospitality of our hosts Mark and Karen was exceptional. The rooms are stylish, light, airy and the whole experience so welcoming. We stayed 6 nights in the Lady of the Lake room, with super sized comfy bed, luxury towels, complimentary drinks and chocolates. There is a spacious breakfast room and a superb, extensive, truly delicious breakfast menu! Excellent location within the town centre, close to all amenities and centrally positioned for touring around all of South Wales.

Mark & Karen made my wife and I feel very welcome and were wonderful hosts with great attention to detail. The New White Lion is a beautiful place to stay - the decor, furniture and antiques reflecting its rich history. The breakfasts were top-rate; locally produced ingredients, beautifully presented. Close to town with its historical connections, craft and antique shops etc. and within easy reach of other attractions such as National Trust.

Mark and Karen were really welcoming and could not do enough for us, they also kept in touch by text to be flexible with our breakfast requirments and time. Overall a really nice experiance and great hosts. Its a shame we had other commitments over the weekend so were out early and returning late so probably missed out on a few drinks and a laugh.

The room was a tad cold when we first arived, but to be fair we had ridden 5 hours in heavy rain on motorcycles, the following evening was tostie.

Fabulous breakfasts, especially the fresh fruit and yogurt and the delicious locally sourced bacon. Location was convenient for exploring the Brecons and Black Mountains. Llandovery had a few good places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. Having lovely dressing gowns and Clarins toilettries in the bathroom gave it a luxurious feeling.

Slightly annoying to have music playing downstairs all the time as we could hear it in our room. The in-house honesty bar was disappointingly expensive, therefore we didn't use it. Due to short staffing , there was not much flexibility in when we could have breakfast.

We had a wonderful time at the New White Lion! Mark and Karen are fantastic hosts! Our room was big, very clean and really cosy, perfect after a long trek over the beacons! Nice big bath, enormous bed, perfect temperature and all the normal facilities including some extra delicious treats! We loved the breakfast, the general atmosphere and how helpful Mark and Karen were throughout our stay. Free parking was directly behind the property so no long walk with heavy bags!

I spent four nights in a well appointed, quiet and large room with an excellent shower. Mark and Karen were congenial hosts who were extremely attentive to my needs. Karen prepared a wonderful breakfast of my choice from her menu. The location is a great choice for exploring the interior of South Wales.
