My single duluxe room was well appointed with truly excellent en-suite, low level lighting, nice dark colour scheme and comfort, breakfast was freshly cooked - not reheated, security - location in the main premises is important. Pleasant, happy and very helpful staff.

Room could do with a couple of USB ports though I might not have seen them, it is a well attended venue with club like atmosphere on Saturday night so quite noisy if facing streets but not rowdy, just late night good times. Contacting staff (answer phone played out over call, reception unmanned/closed at certain times) continuity and internal communication could be improved. Maybe offer deal with breakfast when booking, not separate later payment.

We stayed here while attending The Open Championship at St Andrews. We had a wonderful experience here! The owner, John, met us at check in and showed us to our apartment, which was just across the street from the main hotel. He made sure we knew how to get to St Andrews, and offered advice on best times to travel. He also checked on us when he saw us at the hotel pub. The bar, restaurant and beer garden at the hotel were all fantastic, and popular with travelers and locals alike. Our apartment was very spacious and clean, and had recently been updated. It was a wonderful stay!

I needed somewere to stay for the night. The Fort Hotel was ideal, but if it had not been for the Savnav in the car I would never have found itIt was booked on line by a Premier Inn employee, and I was looking for a Premier Inn place. In desperation I went in to the Fort and they said"yes this place you are looking for"Phew!!I had drinks, wonerful breakfast and dinner.Car parking is a problem.

As with many of these hotels, car parking can be an issue. Not that I am likely to be back in Dundee. But if I was this would be great place to stay.It is close tp the shops,I talked to some of the locals who like living there.

We did not book for breakfast, but had coffee and bacon rolls in the lovely beer garden each morning, which was very good. The room was well appointed, the en suite was modern. Both were spotless. There was a great restaurant with a huge menu and very reasonable prices. The staff were all cheery and obviously a happy team. The hotel was close to both town , which was full of small individual shops and cafes, and the harbour and esplanade.

The room, while lovely, was a bit small for the price. Not much space around the bed and a little dark, which did keep it cool in the hot weather. We had a slight issue with one set of towels for a double room, which took a few attempts to resolve, The main problem was parking. There was no private parking, and the pay and display opposite was for 2 hour slots. On street parking nearby was time limited and very busy. Our eventual free space was four streets away, which we were a bit uncomfortable about, though it was fine.

The room was the right size for a single person travelling alone and only staying for a long weekend. The building is close enough to the railway station, all the shops and restaurants, and not too far from the waterfront.

There was a shortage of vegan options on the bar's menu. Their vegan curry wasn't so good. The only dish I did like was their vegan mixed-bean chili, but it was a little too spicy for me. They had no vegan starter or dessert on their menu. I tended to get a takeaway meal from one of the local outlets instead. The Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the bar was mobbed, so I didn't want to eat a meal there or even get a drink there during that time. Also, the football was showing on TV in the bar those days, and I avoided going into the bar during those times. (I hate football!) Also, not all the trains from Glasgow to Aberdeen stop at Broughty Ferry, so I had to change trains at Dundee on the way there and back, but that was no big deal.

We have stayed here on numerous occasions and this time d no different. Superb, friendly staff sorted out a room change without complaint. Had a fantastic meal again with great staff and stayed for the live music and the late bar.

There is absolutely nothing not to like about The Fort Hotel. Love the location, price, food and stunning rooms.

Great hotel and facilities, busy bar with lots of atmosphere. did not eat in the hotel but it was very popular. Good location and Broughty Ferry is one of my favourit places with many great bars and restuarants.

Spiral staircase to my room was difficult with my mobility but to be fair i did not explain or ask for assistance.

Rooms very clean and quite comfortable. All the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and served very quickly.

It would have been nice to eat in the restaurant after a very long journey. However they stop cooking at 8pm. We were told that the food was very good so it was quite a disappointment.

Didn’t have breakfast. Location was excellent. Parked at the train station £5.50 from Saturday to Monday, hotel only short walk away. Good choice of food on the menu. Room was comfortable with tea and coffee facilities.

I can’t fault my stay. If u a bothered with noise when the pubs come out you can request a quiet room, hotel makes this very clear.

This was the second time staying at The Fort and would not stay anywhere else if we are in the area again. Fantastic value for money, great modern cpmfy room with all you could require. We also had a meal and met up with friends and although a bust saturday night, the staff were on the ball. Great service, great food and at a great price.

The shower riser rail was broken but didn`t complain about it as I`d already had a shower this year anyway :):)
