We were so impressed with the standard of the Highfield Guest House - everything looked brand new & very clean. We had a very smooth check-in process & it was easy to find in a nice, quiet residential part of town. The bed was so comfortable we both had a great night's sleep. There were lots of amenities in the bathroom. It was easy to navigate to the centre of town - we either walked or took a bus.

It is a little bit far out from the centre of town but to be fair we knew that when we booked and we managed fine. (Just something to note if you like to be right in the centre of things.) The bedroom/bathroom is on the smaller side - a little bit too small for two people to get ready at the same time. Works best if one person sits on the bed and the other gets ready, then switch.

A very beautiful Victorian house in a residential neighborhood far from the noise of the city. The bus station is close and a small shop just across the road with everything you need. The room is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and very clean. Kate is kind and gave us all the information we needed. I'm glad I chose this location for the 5 days I spent in Edinburgh.

Everything was perfect for us. Lovely room, great location with a view of Arthur's Seat, and plenty of extras in our room. The owner was so friendly and helpful and gave us an incredible amount of information on arrival, as well as being on hand throughout the stay for other needs we had. Thank you so much, we came to see Bruce Springsteen on a busy, sunny Edinburgh night, and we lucked out with this one! :)

It's a shame they no longer do breakfast as I bet it would have been delicious! But it's not a problem as we knew already and there are plenty of cafés and shops nearby.

You could tell this was quite and old building however they have done an amazing job at maintaining the property and you could tell they put much effort into sound damping such as thick carpets. We never heard our neighbours. 8 minute walk to the bus stop that would take you to the city centre. Very quiet area and a nice place to come back to after a long day of exploring. Loved every moment!

We had a perfect stay at Highfield Guest House, such a lovely warm welcome! The room was gorgeous, little extra touches in the bathroom were really sweet. The bed was comfy with good quality bedding! We enjoy a lay in on holiday and the rooms were quiet and we were not disturbed. It was our first time in Edinburgh and we hope to return again! Thank you so much Kate and Gordon!

There was nothing not to like! I saw a few reviews regarding distance from Centre but this was not a problem for us. The Guest House is a little further out but you are still very close to the Royal Mile and Princess Street. The bus service is amazing and there is local restaurants near hotel if you didn’t want to go to far! We would happily stay again 😀

In a nutshell.. Everything. It was superb. For the entirety of my stay, arriving back at the Highfield Guest House every being after exploring and enjoying the new year’s festivities was like coming back to a warm, comfortable home. The bed was as welcoming as my own, and the bathroom and shower were the best that a person could wish for. Care was taken to make sure that you had all of the amenities of one’s personal home. The climate control worked very well, and was adjustable to suit your liking.

Absolutely nothing.

Location is fantastic with an easy bus ride into the main core. Beds were easily the comfiest we had of our entire trip! Kate was such a wonderful host, helping us with figuring out how to traverse the city. I cannot understate how amazing everyone was to us! Thank you so much for making our stay fantastic!

Beautiful high ceiling room and elegant hotel, lovely small touches too. Guesthouse owner is so helpful, took their time to explain to me all the buses I could use to get around especially given the changes in place that week due to her Majesty's final journey from Edinburgh to London. Location was excellent for my work and the walk into town was fine if you like to walk, but there is a well serviced bus stop about 5 mins walk from the guesthouse that was great too. I could even see Arthur's Seat from my room!

It was all good! Wish I could have stayed longer, would definitely book again. I only booked room, so can't comment on breakfast, but am sure it was lovely!
