Despite being a pub, the room was off a courtyard at the back. No noise at all from the pub. The room was clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable, The lady on reception was friendly and helpful, The WiFi is free - as is the parking when you stay there, Newport has an attractive High Street with interesting buildings and the pub sits across the road from a canal with ducks and swans, making it an attractive walk if the weather is good. There is also a service station incorporating a Londis just over the road

Could have done with slightly more light in the room and somewhere to hang the lool roll - nothing major.

The service was excellent and friendly. The room was lovely and clean. They accepted dogs and we had a room that led straight outdoors which was a bonus.

There was no food available which was advertised when booking and we had to go out looking for somewhere to eat which you don't want at the end of a long day's work. The outdoor bar area outside our room reeked of canibis and was noisy until around 10pm. The bed was terrible sat on it and thought i was falling through it, neither of us had much sleep due to the quality of the bed, otherwise was okay.

Beautiful location near the river, a warm cozy room with clean facilities, plenty of outlets for anything you need, and excellent access into the town for anything you would need. We arrived a little earlier than expected, but this wasn’t a problem for the staff, who were happy to accommodate our earlier arrival.

There was a little noise at night from the room above which came from squeaking of the floorboards or beams. Nothing major, and didn’t affect our sleep too much.

My car broke down en route to the hotel and when I phoned ahead to let them know the owners were simply amazing. They gave me lots of assistance, helped keep me calm (as I was a woman stuck out in the middle of nowhere in the dark), and then gave me a free drink when I finally managed to arrive much later than I had originally planned. They identified a car repair company for me in town so that I was able to go straight there after work the following day to get the car repaired and then drive home. I can't rate the hospitality at this hotel highly enough. Thank you so much Danielle and Edward!

This was the second time I have used the accommodation and the service was still as excellent as last time.The staff are friendly and helpful,location a minute walk into town and also surrounded by many countryside walks,which on one occasion I shared with deer.The rooms are immaculately clean and home from home comfort with a little extra added in.

Not a problem for me, but there is a small courtyard outside where you can sit and have a drink and can get a little lively so bear that in mind.

What a lovely warm welcome. It was lovely to go into somewhere and finally not find anything wrong with a place we stay. The staff were so friendly and the locals great. There was a dolly pardon tribute on whilst we stayed and we had great fun. We had a lovely meal in an Indian restaurant up the road. They didn't mind us bringing food in from takeaways. there was also a pizza van outside serving lovely pizzas.

Room was clean, comfortable and cosy. Landlady very welcomming, helpful and kind, especially considering we were very late and arrived at a busy time in what is clearly a popular pub.

Having just undertaken an 8hr journey that should of take 3, we were starving. Unfortunately the pub doesn't do food. (It does state this on the booking form) But there are several good takeaways a few yards up the road and plenty of tea and coffee in the room. It's a testament to the landlady and staff that the business clearly does well on wet sales alone.

Big bed room, big bathroom. Desk & bedside cabinets, two seats and a tv in room. Wardrobe & hangers, towels, toilet roll, tea & coffee provided. 11am checking out time. Flexibility on checking in time. Parking onsite or very close by. At one end of the main high street so shopping a very short stroll. Will definitely stay again.

There is nothing we didn’t like.

I made a late booking as I needed to break a journey, to tired to drive further. Although my booking was made late and only a few minutes before I arrived at the Inn, the staff were great, very helpful. Parking was very convenient, just a few yards from the room door.

TV wall bracket needed a bit of attention, but this didn't affect the quality of my stay. Quite a bit of llight from the courtyard outside, but the curtains helped block most if it out.

Really welcoming and cosy feel to the stay - thoughtful touches in the room like tea & coffee, toiletries and lavender pillow spray! The owner who checked me in and showed me the room was very friendly, helpful and available. The bed was comfortable, adjustable heating in the room, Wi-Fi, television, kettle, and a powerful and hot shower. Although the single room was quite small, there are plenty of storage options and as I was really only there to sleep and shower it served my needs perfectly.

Not much! The room was quite warm even in April, but with the window open there was some noise from the high street, which the owner did tell me about on arrival. Otherwise a very comfortable and welcoming stay! Only thing I might add would be some decaf tea and coffee options :)
