Breakfast was lovely on Saturday morning where we were asked at the table what we would like. However on the Sunday morning there was no sausage or bacon left and it was served as a buffet breakfast which we wasnt told about. Loved the atmosphere in the room next to the bar very relaxed feel.

No sausage or bacon left for breakfast on the Sunday morning. The waitress however was lovely and later brought over some fresh bacon. Hotel a little run down in the Manor suite but the room was ok bed was very comfy had two good nights sleep, secretly hoped we'd have been upgraded to the room with the freestanding bath.

The hotel is showing its age but our room was large, clean and comfortable. The town of Shifnal was within easy walking distance but the hotel area was very quiet. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Some of the reviews I read were a bit negative but I would suggest that if you want something with a bit of character I would book here; if you want something soulless stick to Premier Inn

love the character and mystique of it. Bit of a mix internally with modern paint schemes mixed with the old wooden style…which we prefer. Bedroom was lovely, however the mattress could of been firmer or maybe the four poster bed frame needed better slats? A curtain around the four poster would be nice. Room could do with an iron and board for your clothes. Was lovely overall but there is something missing to raise the experience of the visit. Spa was most enjoyable, that’s from my misses…again could do with a bit more in the facilities way to make it more upmarket. Breakfast was super no issues, although the coffee was a bit ‘weak’ on the first morning. Food though was, as mentioned, lovely. Maybe add some croissants etc for continental style breakfast. Definitely come back though, just needs some investment to make it top notch👍

The setting and feeling of the place.

Great food, friendly staff and big room. Great leisure facilities too. Decent size beds even for the children. Good size bathroom and plenty of storage spaces.

Steps up to main building which was difficult for us as 2 people with limited mobility. Needed the main building for food but rest of the facilities and our room were step free. Light switch behind headboard was awful and TV position for kids not great. Bit otherwise great place for a break.

Staff were friendly and welcoming very peaceful setting lovely rooms the grounds are well maintained and very relaxing would definately stay again

Not asked at breakfast if we had any dietary requirements if I hadn't of asked if there were mushrooms on it they would have served me them and I'm allergic so maybe a bit of training on allergens wouldn't go a miss Maybe an extension to the pool as 6 people fill it and when kids are involved it's not great we wanted a spa not a kids swimming pool. Spot lights outside room 54 need turning off at night My sister and I were in a room with 2 double beds which was great but only 1 bath towel 1 hand towel and a shower mat good job I took my own

Nice house/ good secure parking/ very friendly helpful staff/ quiet/ and super fast check in which was appreciated late at night. Bit of a ramble through fire doors, but understand the reason. Large comfortable room. Clean.

Ventilation in the room not at all good ! Arrived to an exceedingly hot stuffy room. No aeration in advance which was a bit lax, but it was the window design! Had to immediately try to open the windows. Mmm, probably opened 1 inch max - I understand there might be reasons for limited opening, but this was ridiculous , and whoever designed and passed this important lack of facility for fresh air should be reprimanded. As a result, a very hot and rather airless night. Additionally, - Regret to say no Breakfast chef until 8am which was too late for our business schedule that day. The helpful staff did however facilitate some toast and coffee, but had been anticipating and ideally desiring "full English"!

Staff were all very friendly and helpful, particularly the young ladies in the hotel lounge on Saturday night. Also the breakfast staff were very helpful in what must have been a very busy time.

Sad to say there were one or two minor issues with the room (room 34) plus one potentially serious safety issue with the shower heat control, I did report them all to the reception lady as we were leaving, not to complain as such, but to make them aware and get them sorted. (If they don't know then they can't fix it). The rest were minor... bedside lamp bulb gone, paint drips on the wallpaper, mould in the shower, wallpaper peeling from walls and ceiling in places. Not as I expected from such a prestigious venue.

It was a lovely place, quirky and set within a beautiful grounds.

The lack of staff, it took 15 minutes to check in as there was only one staff member on the phone, reception was not occupied by a staff member all the time. several guests stated “there is no one about again” we just dropped our room key and left. There is a note on the reception desk to call a number if no one is about. This is not good enough. A very nice hotel, just lacking in staff.

We Went for our anniversary. The staff at dinner and breakfast were very accommodating. Especially the Scottish assistant, she was absolutely brilliant and hilarious 😂 The Spa was excellent and so were the staff. The gym was lovely, the grounds amazing. It took us 5hrs to get there instead of 3hrs but when we finally got there, it was worth it. The room was lovely. Plus WiFi was included without payment.

The room door stuck, the telly kept messing around, and the receptionist was racist. But tried to be nice through it! As soon as she saw us, she asked for payment. Then tŕied telling us, we couldn't have our afternoon tea because it was full, when I had a voucher, and the place was empty, just us and another couple! I did not appreciate that. Didn't have air-conditioning, or fans.
