It is a fabulous pub, with 52 different varieties of pies, the ones we chose were delicious, the staff were very attentive but not too much. They were polite and on the ball. Our room was spacious with a view onto the beer garden.It was exceptionally clean , and the bed was very comfy with quality bed linen and towels. Hand wash, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner were all provided, which was a lovely extra. And a flannel which is unheard of. We would definitely come again and highly recommend.

Our only grip was the noise from the kitchen fridge/freezer , which was intermittent all evening.

An amazing find! My sister and I booked as the rest of our family were holidaying nearby. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a bifold door onto our own little patio to the garden. The bathroom was well appointed and toiletries welcome. Highly recommended for a stay here if you're in the area. Our whole family came for dinner and the pies were totally amazing. There was a mistake with our order and the person who made the mistake came out and held their hands up and apologised and the missing pie appeared not long after. It was such an excellent thing him, having made an honest mistake, to let us know...so different from a senior member of staff coming out and "blaming" the junior; we were very impressed and will be back!

Service in restaurant and bar a tad slow

The staff are amazing and very attentive they couldn't do enough for you, our room no 2 was just right for us, everything was set out perfectly, we had fresh water when required, different tea's and coffee and biscuits to choose from. The breakfast was plentiful, an assortment of cereal, fruit and cooked breakfast. Now for the pies, wow 52 pies to choose from all with different fillings, also a vegetarian selection, but be quick they go fast, it is allowed to pre book which I would definitely advise. The bar staff and the owners are very friendly and make you feel as though you are at home. Will definitely be back.

I cannot complain about anything in this lovely place, the only thing I would change is the quilts, but that is only minor as there are blankets provided if needed.

A great base in this area, Filey, Bridlington, Flamborough, Scarborough, Whitby etc. The food was amazing as always. Pie eaters heaven! Pre book the breakfast pie for the ultimate breakfast! The Piebald does have two dog friendly rooms (£10 extra per night per dog). All rooms are super clean, comfortable and fitted out to a high standard.

This area suffers from a lack of reliable fast EV chargers. It would be a massive benefit for anyone with an EV car stopping if the Piebald had two/three 7kw chargers (it would bring in extra trade).

Lovely superior room, lots of room space. Lovely clean bathroom. Standard of the room very high, recently decorated and furnished. Wide selection of scrumptious pies for the connoisseur for dinner, busy restaurant, need to book. Excellent choices for breakfast and well cooked. Staff were friendly and courteous. Ideal for location birdwatching at Bempton, Farnborough and Spurn. Trips to Scarborough. Hope to visit again.

The access was easy all ground floor, and the English breakfast was excellent. Shower was great. The pie menu for an evening meal looked appetising.

We were in the room for disabled people which meant there was no plug in the sink which was very low and small. There was a some background noise from an electric motor which cut in and out (refrigerator?) Staff Said they would look into modifying this.

quiet location with parking & ground floor accommodation . Super friendly welcoming staff. excellent breakfasts. Rooms are excellent (just missing a mini fridge)

the pub restaurant is famously and deservedly renowned for its excellent pie menu. My only criticism is that if you are resident for a few days and wish to dine at the restaurant every night, then there are limited options to tempt you beyond the pies.

Totally wonderful in every way, The room , the location and the friendliness of the staff could not have been better. For me the most outstand people were the breakfast staff. The table service was faultless and the chef produced the best hotel breakfasts I can remember. Everything cooked to order and to perfection, no trace of items just being kept warm on a hot plate.
