The location was great - beside the river was really tranquil but also only ten mintes by car from St Ives. Best of both worlds. All the staff were friendly and helpful - with a well cooked breakfast with decent ingredients both days. Our room was clean and there was plenty of hot water. The thatched roof full-of-history feel was very cool and apart from taller people needing to mind your head, created a good atmosphere inside and lots of room outdoors for kids/children and fresh air folk. The staff were refreshingly polite and took inclusivity to heart, clearly making all their guests feel equally welcome - and it is a pet friendly accommodation :) Although we were there for work, the Inn's location made it attractive for walkers and of course river boats. Tasty evening meals were still available at 9.30 and ours were satisfyingly sized.

Not at all their fault, but somehow the postcode when picked up by SatNav takes you to the wrong side of the Inn and its Parking - not sure how this can be sorted, it seemed to be a very common problem.

Nice riverside location, but difficult to find, needs a signpost! Excellent food and drink, friendly helpful staff, nice and quiet at night. Bed was comfy, plenty of hot water, and room facilities were OK, tea making, iron, hair dryer and fan all supplied. Flies seem to be an issue in the area, so the window screens are a nice touch meaning the windows can be left open without flies getting into the room.

The room was OK, but could have done with a good run over with a hoover, the amount of dust on the floor was surprising, especially where the mains plugs are and behind the cupboard next to the bed. There is also a problem with spiders and dead flies in the windows, but they just need a hoover and run over with a cleaning cloth.

A characterful old Inn in a lovely location next to the river. The staff were superbly helpful, finding a safe space to store our bike indoors and helping us with our bags. The accommodation is away from the bar and restaurant. On site food is excellent, with a good choice for veggies. Breakfast options are also very good.

Understandably for an old building, sound insulation in the room was a bit poor, but only from the other rooms in the accommodation - not from the bars.

The bedroom (single occupancy) was ok. The bed was very comfortable; the shower room was great. The room itself is very small; there is not enough room for any bedtables nor bedside lights. It was clean and well cared for. The location is isolated so calm and perfect for leisurely walks along the river. The food is typical 'pub food' so while there isn't a 'wow' menu, I couldn't fault it for freshness and taste. The most postitive aspect of this Inn is the amazing staff. From the new manager, Claire, to the waiting / bar staff, to the house cleaning.... professional, welcoming, attentive and accommodating.

My only small criticism would have to be the breakfast. The english breakfast was not up to the standards of the rest of the food. Namely the sausage, black pudding and the mushrooms (all of which were quite dry & pretty tasteless). However, there is a large choice on the breakfast menu which I didn't try!

The pub itself was a lovely building and a really nice place to spend time. The room was fine but a bit on the small side and didn't quite match the charm of the main building. Nothing wrong with it at all but just a bit plain.

Oh the shower didn't drain very well and some hairs did float up from the plug that were not mine, so it might need a bit of unblocking. The welcome was functional but not that great, more of a "here's your key, off you go". Same on leaving. It'd really improve the friendly atmosphere if there was a bit more chat/info for the guests on arrival/departure.

A charming inn, steeped in history, located in a beautiful riverside hamlet. The room was compact, but very comfortable and clean. The restaurant served excellent food and beer. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Luckily for us, this location was a clue in our photographic challenge and was a perfect place to stay.

Nothing. It was all perfect.

Old history of location. View was pretty. Staff made my wife iced tea by putting a hot cup of tea over ice.

More history about the inn. Staff didn’t know Much about it. That is why many will be staying there so it is important. Floor creaks a lot so you might want to offer earplugs for sale to guests. Créate a dumb waiter system to get bags to second floor would be nice. Steps are a bit dangerous for older folks carrying bags up and down.
