Nice place, clean and staff very welcoming. Had a nice stay.

Booked restaurant on the Saturday as we had eaten earlier in the week and food was good. But ordered the pie which didn’t look like a pie, but of pastry on top of a small dish, inside literally two pieces of chicken and two mushrooms no sauce. We complained and they replaced meal. Also ordered the special’s which was pollock on a bed of tiny amount of mash, we did ask for more which they did bring. Sadly another couple complained that the chicken he had ordered was raw in the middle, which he left. This ruined the stay for us which was a shame because the breakfast was lovely.

The room was very cosy and a little quirky as the bathroom was up a flight of stairs from the bedroom, which we loved as it meant that the bathroom was very spacious with a large flat surface to store things on. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful, and the service also excellent. The bedroom and bathroom were exceptionally clean and very warm with a huge TV. Downstairs in the lobby there were free bottles of water in a fridge plus extra tea, coffee, sugar etc also free, also because we were drinking de-caff tea at breakfast the lady who was serving us made sure there was plenty in our room. The property has a large car park with a path that leads down to the river, and is only a short walk from Ironbridge centre, either along the river or by the pavement. So considering all of the above the price we paid for a three night stay, including breakfast, with free cancellation and nothing to pay until nearer the date of the stay, it was exceptional value for money. We will be returning!

Breakfast very good with full English freshly cooked. Evening meal very good with prompt service. Location as on the Buildwas Road on edge of Ironbridge, very convenient for Ironbridge and surrounding area.Rooms separate from hotel with good insulation. Plenty of supplies in the rooms. Good walk, say 20 mins, possible along river and through a park into Ironbridge.

No fresh fruit at breakfast. Shower was malfunctioning and needed repair then was very good. Bathroom ventilator switch high on wall and not apparent. Too many cushions! As the rooms are in a renovated house the ones on the first floor are accessed via a narrow steep staircase to a small landing. Only a problem perhaps to a few.

Overall, the breakfast choices were great and the staff were warm and friendly. The room was fun as the shower was on a split level. The shower itself was great, with plenty of room. The room we had (room 5) was facing onto the main road though; luckily the amount of traffic wasn't too great. There was access to a very pretty River walk from the rear garden, which took you all the way towards The Ironbridge.

Don't really have any negative comments. It would have been nice if there was a more direct path into the dining area, rathe than having to walk (although a short distance) on the main road pavement into the pub.

Breakfast was cooked to order with the usual options plus plenty of tea, cereal and toast. The staff were very friendly, and treat us with dignity and respect. We used the restaurant for our evening meal were there was a good choice of dishes on the menu. The room which was in a separate building was very comfortable, and private, with little noise. The "Water Rat" is within 10 minutes walking distance of the centre of Ironbridge.

There wasn't anything that we did not like about this bed & breakfast. It was perfect for our stay.

We arrived early to a friendly smiling welcome, had a drink in the bar whilst chatting to the staff on duty. This was our 10th anniversary after we were married in Ironbridge in 2014. When the room was ready we were escorted and shown the digital door lock to the area then up to the room itself. The room was spacious and clean with everything laid out ready, very impressive. Breakfast was lovely and tasty with the lovely Julie catering to our needs with a friendly attitude and always with a smile. We were joined by my Wife's parents for an excellent dinner, well presented and served, and enjoyed a pleasant evening with attentive staff always nearby and happy to make our evening a special one.

The only drawback was the early closure of the bar.

Room was spacious and comfortable Breakfast was pretty good and Jules who looked after us each morning was fabulous Dinner was good, a proper in house made pie witha top and bottom and moist filling Starters were good, Spicy wings better than most places Location by the river and walking distance from Ironbridge is good

The bed in room 6 was very soft When we mentioned it on departure, staff said they could have moved us if we'd said earlier, so down to us for not saying, but we liked the room

Spotless and pleasing rooms that met all our needs. Safety and security well thought out. Staff were very attentive and helpful, nothing was too much for them, without exception.The Water Rat was a very pleasant walk in easy distance from the centre of what we were in the area to see and visit. Food was a wide range in choice and well prepared and presented. In all we had a brilliant stay there. Will certainly be recommending to friends and family.

There was nothing not to like. A brilliant break for us both.

Excellent location, warm welcome from really friendly staff. Restaurant wasn’t open on Monday evening but we were directed to their sister hotel 20 minute walk away and had an excellent dinner enjoying a 10% residence discount. Good night’s sleep. In a spacious and comfortable room followed by an excellent breakfast in the morning. Great stay in a wonderful well situated hotel, very comfortable and excellent, friendly service. We will return.

Can’t fault anything.

The staff were helpful and pleasant at all times. The room was clean. The breakfasts were lovely and Sue, the waitress, always smiling.

The Water Rat itself was modern, clean and pleasant, What we didn,t fully realise was that the b&b was adjacent and the entrance needed a facelift. Access was with a keyfob which was difficult to use although there was a code. The bedroom key was also very loose in the lock. The room, although clean was a bit tired looking. A small thing but perhaps more selection on the breakfast buffet table?
