The Huntsman is a proper home-from-home. The staff can't do enough for you. Food was excellent and so was the accommodation. We had some car trouble whilst out during the day and I rang to cancel dinner as it seemed likely we wouldn't be back in time and an hour later they called to make sure we were ok and see if we needed any help! The whole place is beautifully maintained, cosy in the bar area with a huge open fire, and lovely in the dining room. However, it is really the staff that make it - they are so friendly and helpful. Would recommend staying here and using as a base to explore the surrounding area including Ironbridge and The Wrekin which are only a few miles away.

Nothing - it was faultless

The room was perfectly spacious for one and well-furnished, with a comfortable bed. The setting of the property is reasonably quiet, and the room was well away from the bar, so it had a peaceful feel to it. Appreciated the fact that it was also a CAMERA listed establishment. It was easy to drive from there to the Wrekin or to Ironbridge, both areas worth exploring. The food was excellent, as was the service. I linked up with family whilst there, and we all enjoyed our meal.

I couldn't find anything I didn't like, apart, perhaps, from the weather, and there was not much they could do about that!

A gem of a place with excellent facilities and extremely helpful staff. The cosy bar had the advantage of a real fire. There was a spacious dining room for more formal meals. The food in both the bar and restaurant was superb. Very good breakfasts. Although the room was above the carpark it was very soundproof and the view across to distant fields was beautiful. Everything about The Huntsman was to a high standard. It was well placed for walks and access to places of interest. Can't wait to return there.

Love this place friendly staff ... Lovely lady on reception and lady at breakfast Saturday morning she is an absolute star ... Unfortunately the che on Sunday morning needs to keep his comments to himself or make sure he says them in private .... My son had put 3 rashes of bacon ... Which Saturday was no problem but Sunday the chef said to the young girl if we had more than two slices had to to paid for ... Which wasn't a problem if needed to be .... Unfortunately as he was saying this I was sat by reception. I ordered smoked salmon and scrambled egg and I got bacon mushroom and tomato... No issues Saturday I think maybe a different chef anyway that aside lovely place xxxxx

It was amazing to come around a corner and see the beautiful hotel The restaurant was surprisingly good with first class food and a lovely environment to enjoy it

Unfortunately the boiler for feeding our hot water to our room failed . Although it wasn’t their fault management could have availed us of a shower in another unit to use . I was told about it as we were leaving. This was so disappointing and didn’t live up to the level of care they had shown in other areas.

Everything about it. Selected it because it was near to where we needed to be the following day. It seemed to be a little out of the way, but it wasn't at all. Easily found by sat nav. The bar and restaurant were busy and prices were not out of the way. The food in the restaurant was beautiful with a good selection on the menu. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and good value for money.

The fact that we had only booked one night!

Worth noting that for coeliacs they have an extensive Gluten free menu! Lovely setting near The Wrekin - great for a good hike. Lovely pub with charming drinking area with fire and great ales. Room was delightful and super modern and clean. Great linen, lovely bathroom. English breakfast was superb - fantastic sausage and bacon.

The only thing I would suggest would be to ensure guests have a key for evening entry as the pub can close early on bank holidays or quite evenings.

The quality of the food both at breakfast and our evening meal was very good. The accommodation very good quality, a good size and had everything you'd expect in a modern hotel room

Minor points, but there was a limited choice for breakfast which i think could be broader, especially as you have to make choices the night before). There were no reception staff when we arrived and had to go and find someone in the end who could help us. We weren't asked when we paid up if we'd had a good stay!

A lovely country pub very well appointed. We had an excellent breakfast and also had an evening meal which was really good. Very friendly welcome.

We felt the room was a little cool in the afternoon but got quite warm through the night. We had been unable to book a table in the restaurant so had to sit in the bar which was perfectly fine, however we felt a little abandoned as once we’d been shown to our table we were not made aware that we had to order our food at the bar, but we worked it out and was all good.

We've stayed at The Huntsman a few times as it is a good overnight stop on our way further south to see family. It is a comfortable no-nonsense place. Car parking is great and it is always easy to arrange dinner while we are there. Breakfast is always quality. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable and everything in the bathroom works!

We thought the meals at dinner were not up to their usual standard which was a bit disappointing. Nothing too drastic but just not what we expected from previous visits.
