We had stayed once before and had no hesitation in returning. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice. We ate twice in the restaurant and the food was very good value for money and good quality. Unlike last time, our room was in one of the outside chalets. It was a large space, which was good. The bar was often busy with locals, which made for a great atmosphere. Our manager was totally attentive, with nothing too much trouble - a great asset to the establishment.

Several little things: there were no easy chairs in our room, only a very small stool, which meant either propping up or sitting on the bed - both backache inducing at our age! The sink plug didn't fit and so the water drained away very quickly. Several surfaces were dusty. The extractor fan wasn't working in the bathroom.

Room was exceptional, with incredible curved wall of inset pebbles in bathroom (which would have taken very high skill to create). trompe-de l'oeil 'wardrobe', nice shelving, comfortable bed, window seat, good size. The breakfast was superb, well above average standard. Staff were extremely cheerful and helpful. Lots of nice artwork, and great old photos. Beautiful quiet village setting.

Car park rather small, but parking available on-street close by also. Couple of shelves in the room not level, but no great problem.

We chose this pub bed and breakfast in the countryside for an overnight stay as it was 20 minutes away from Brittany Ferry Terminal in Plymouth. The pub is unpretentious and in the centre of village of Ivybridge. However when you enter it is a real surprise as it has had a modern and subtle makeover with quirky finishing touches such as trompe l'oeil.Ben was kind enough to inform us the day before that there was works being carried out on drainage pipes in street outside hotel and relocated us to cabins at back of pub to ensure we had a water supply.Ben also cooked a wonderful cooked breakfast with vegetarian option the following morning proving his culinary skills as a former chef We paid £80 for bed and breakfast for all round quality

Friendly welcome and dog friendly. Good size room, clean and warm. The bed was comfy. Breakfast nicely cooked and good quality food. Nice large mugs for refreshments in the room which is always good!

No evening meal was available, as there was no chef at the time of our stay and they were short-staffed. We walked to the nearest other pub in the village, however, which had an excellent menu. There was audible noise from the bar in the evening - our room was over the bar which might have upset some guests, just saying although it ultimately didn't disturb our sleep.

It was an old building ( certainly at least Georgian) with character, although our bedroom was in motel style bedrooms behind the pub. The bar and dining room were pleasant. The staff were friendly and helpful, although on Wednesdays the chef has a day off so no evening food is served. AS others have said the breakfasts were excellent. We had a very generous full English, cooked to order and served nicely. They coped with one gluten free guest well.. So the breakfast was the highlight

Our bedroom was a good quality motel style room. The fittings were newish but there was cracking of some walls etc but not enough to make you feel concerned. As it was ground floor overlooking where cars were parked you needed to close the curtains to maintain some privacy

Breakfast was excellent. Room was quirky and interesting. Staff lovely and helpful. Ability to come back at any hour with door key meant no pressure to stick to pub hours. Location lovely, with typical Devon lanes! Nice en suite and decent facilities. Thanks to Scott and staff

Not anything worth complaining about. Creaky floorboards probably added to interest of room. No wardrobe but room supplied with hangars and hooks on wall and door. It didn't affect our stay.

My room was lovely and the walk in shower/bathroom clean and fresh. I slept well the breakfast was lovely, thank you Tim for putting the table together so we could all sit together

Lemonades were definitely flat even tho they were changed and unless you get the one good table the seats in the bar are a bit uncomfortable but it is an old pub Have stayed before so would definitely stay again

the room itself was lovely and quite and the staff and the food in the restaurant was excellent, the morning breakfast was also excellant and was a nice start to the day.

the mattress on the bed was a little uncomfortable due to being not very deep and there were a couple of loose fixtures in the bathroom and the emercency light in the room was a little annoying having the green light on it lighting up the room all night but thses are all minor faults which can be sorted very easy

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was nicely decorated and warm. Inn is full of character and friendly atmosphere. Small but very pleasant bar with good choice of drinks. Breakfast was fine, decent fry-up and nice porridge. Didn't have an evening meal but nice dining room. Set in a small but quaint village.

Set a little off the beaten path and as with much of Devon access roads are tight. Just needs a little caution and be prepared for reversing. However for our return journey north very convenient for A38. Bathroom is a wet room and water tended to flow quite broadly around the shower area. But may just be an issue in this room and not exactly major. Shower was good and plenty of room to manoeuvre in the bathroom.

Lovely breakfast, Great location. The bathroom was lovely and the rainfall shower was a treat

The room was very warm and the ventilation was limited. There was small fan provided but floor standing fan would be more useful. Also a number of the LED lights didnt work but these were minor details and in no way detract from the positives of the overall stay.
