This inn is located close to the main A38 between Exeter and Plymouth, and is very easy to find at the junction for Buckfatleigh. We arrived for lunch, and enjoyed a good meal before checking in and being shown to our room. We opted for a twin room, which had 2 x 3foot wide beds, which were extremely comfortable. The en-suite bathroom was beautifully appointed, with modern shower and the option of a bath in a full-size tub, and plenty of head room for my tall (6'7"/2.01m) partner. We loved the soft, wrap-around bath sheets and the heated towel rail - just what you need in winter! Breakfast the next morning was cooked to order, and was excellent. All the staff here are friendly and helpful, and the whole experience was one we'd be happy to repeat.
Our room was lovely and warm, but we found it too hot in the night. We could open the window, but then had to cope with occasional (not continuous) traffic noise. It didn't stop us from getting at least some sleep. One other point - our room (11) had a sloping ceiling on one side. Whilst my partner is very tall, I could cope, but this room would not suit two very tall people. The manager promised to remedy the small issue we had with one of the bedside lights.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was an excellent choice of breakfasts and the traditional breakfast we chose (every day with variations) was of a generous size and well-cooked. We were able to supplement our cooked breakfasts from the wide-ranging buffet. The coffee was good when fresh but it did vary. The bedroom was a good size but the large bed was a bit too soft for my liking. The room had a large and quality TV with quite sufficient for us but a limited range of Freeview channels. The wi-fi signal strength was fine but access was convoluted without the usual straightforward password access. There was plenty of space in both the shower cubicle and en-suite shower-room but there was no bath, though this didn't particularly bother us. We didn't understand why the slightly uncomfortable toilet was so small as there was plenty of space - and there was no toilet brush, though we didn't ask for one as we didn't need it! Plenty of hot water and good room service. The upper car park mainly used by guests gave easier access to the rooms through a private rear entrance and this was particularly useful as there was no lift. We enjoyed our stay at the Datrbridge Inn and would go again.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. Nicole went out of her way to help me out as I’d forgotten my charger plug. She also helped me out with knowledge of the area & was very pleasant to chat to. Breakfast was very good and set me up for a day of exploring. Dinners were good but would have been good to see more vegetable centric dishes. My room was warm and comfortable as was the bed. The shower was brilliant- powerful and hot.
Not something that can be addressed by Dartbridge inn but would have been so good to have been able to walk to and from the Inn safely but there are no pavements to get you to the easier bits of road!

Lovely place to stay, staff are very welcoming and I would highly recommend a stay if you’re passing through. Breakfast was lovely and the view of the river Dart was also very nice from where we sat. Room was comfortable and clean. All in all it was a very pleasant experience I would very much recommend.
From what I could tell there aren’t any walks around the area (although I didn’t ask)and it’s right on the road but there was nothing to not like really. For the price it was an absolute bargain and our stay was very pleasant I’d happily stay again.

My room (4) was adequate for me size wise, lovely comfy bed nice bedding and fluffy towels. All the usual room essentials provided. Check in was very straight forward and location is excellent but you will need a vehicle, 10 mins from Totnes and 20 to Exeter. Breakfast was the star of the show Absoloutley fantastic every morning and I was there all week, the young lady that worked every morning was brilliant quick to take orders and replenish empty coffee cups plus she was always impeccably turned out (smart). Would definitely stay again if working in that area.
I fully understand that it is an old building but the floors are very noisy and as I was up at 6 every morning very conscious of the noise I was making trying to tip toe around.

Service was exceptional, and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The assistant manager Emma and the team went the extra mile for my husbands birthday, and even put up birthday bunting and poppers for our evening meal! Great food and an exceptional breakfast offering! Room clean and well appointed. Location is great for visiting the Abbey, The Steam Railway, and The Butterfly Farm and Otter Sanctuary.
The Pub next to a very busy road, so it was difficult to converse outside on the lovely terrace, and traffic noise at night was loud if the windows are open, but the proximity to local attractions, the staff and food outweighed the one negative, by far.

Love the Room the way it was done out was lovely
The fact that they were very strict on the time that you could book in, I understand that you have to give a set time, but I also believe you should be flexible, I arrived at the property around 11 o’clock saying that I know I’m early but hoping they could possibly let me in earlier to be honest not every bedroom is gonna be ready at 2 o’clock there will be some that are ready before the person is already there as a goodwill gesture, why not let them take a room?

Room was very comfortable but being on the road side made it very difficult to sleep after 6am as the traffic was very noisy and we had to have some air in the room. Breakfast was very good, Nicole was very efficient and helpful. The bar staff were also very helpful.
The basin tap was loose and the shower head was worn out but we did ask for it to be fixed on the first morning and it was sorted. The furniture in the room was functional but rather tired looking. The bed was very comfortable though. The hallways and stairs were also a bit tired looking with scruffy paintwork.

Staff friendliness and genuine eagerness to provide the "top" level of standard and service. This was right across the board - room, food, bar. A very popular venue with "passing trade" too.
Some very minor decorating issues in stairway, dining room and broken blind in dining area made the venue look a little tired and wear-worn. It wouldn't take much in time and money to make it near-perfect.

The room was clean and well decorated Breakfast choices very good. Staff most accommodating seemingly at the last minute, although this was due to one message sent on Booking.com saying there would be two persons, not one, not being seen- despite, oddly, having received a reply. However the staff member quickly logged in to read the messages and then confirmed it was ok. To put this in context, I'd just done a 5 hour drive and it was about 9.45. There was no annoyance on either side and it was fine. The food there was lovely.
Mattress on my bed had a dip in it. I turned it round and gained an improvement. This mattress needs replacing Imo. Having taken all the sheets off to try turning it over first though, at least I know it was clean! It's a busy road and the windows although double glazed, don't keep the noise out. Take your ear plugs. And as mentioned above, they ended up thinking it was just me, after I'd sent a message in advance saying it was two people. I received a reply and they did not know. Who replied? Is this a lack of communication by Booking.com?
