Fantastic location; 5 minutes walk to the office. Ideal for the occasional night I stay up to save on travel time when in the office for 2 consecutive days. Having a kitchenette was handy as could microwave a ready meal and would be a great bonus for those on a longer stay. Bed was very comfy and everything very clean. Plenty of hot water for showering. Easy access (about 7.30 pm) and well lit porch area. Member of staff was very welcoming and insisted on carrying my case to my room.

For the price I paid, everything was fine. Really can't complain. Walls could do with a lick of paint, carpet was tired, couldn't watch the TV due to poor signal (was in a basement room). Storage heater under window didn't work, but a plug in oil heater soon had the room toasty warm.

Location was great. I stayed for a family wedding and the hotel was no more than 10 minutes away from the registry office, the rehearsal dinner, the wedding breakfast and the evening celebration. It was only 7 minutes from where the rest of the (richer!) family stayed at more than 3 times the price! I hadn't anticipated that the room would be so well equipped - toaster, microwave, 2-ring hob, tea and coffee facilities, fridge, microwave, toiletries, iron and ironing board. I was very pleasantly surprised.

The only thing I should have taken notice of was the reviews that pointed out how noisy it was at night. This is only to be expected in central London, on the corner of 2 busy roads. If you're staying here, bring earplugs - apart from that, there is everything you need in the room.

The caretaker was great, both on the phone and at reception. The room was very comfortable, everything was clean and was situated behind two doors so practically soundproof (the room faced onto the street so it’d be virtually impossible for it to be completely soundproof). Exactly what I needed for a short-term business stay, and the staff got everything ready within a couple of hours as I only booked on the day of stay itself. Great location and very safe too. Top marks!

I’d advise guests to be mindful of the taps - I think there’s a minor issue with the water pump and sometimes the water stops/starts and the temperature isn’t always consistent. However, there’s still plenty of hot water. I’d also have liked somewhere to hang my dress/coat - not necessarily a wardrobe, but a stand with some hangers would’ve been good in addition to the couple of drawers that were there.

I love the humility of the staff. They were really friendly and were ready to help with anything to make me and my family comfortable. We spent two comfortable nights and on the day we were traveling they were happy for us to keep our bags in the reception area until we came back for it later in the evening before traveling. The hotel is also well located and it allowed get to several useful destination on time despite the traffic. The studio apartment we stayed in was also quite comfortable, I even had to make my wife and kids a delicious meal while in the hotel.

The rooms may need some renovation

Great location with supermarkets and metro lines nearby in walking distance. The room was perfect for accommodating one person, with all the necessary amenities for the duration of the stay (fridge, microwave, water heater for tea and coffee).

The windows let in a lot of noise from the street, so if you are a light sleeper, traffic sounds will be an issue.

My daughter and I stayed for three nights, and would certainly return. The room was a reasonable size - was clean, with a small kitchen with fridge, microwave and 2 hob ring. Staff were very helpful,taking our cases to our room as there is no lift. We had stayed at the Amber Residence on a previous occasion and think it has been upgraded since then. We would have no hesitation in staying here again, as so close to shops in Oxford Street and good value for money.

It would have been good to have had a slightly larger bathroom

Location was great, handy to have small kitchenette with cooker, microwave and fridge and tea and coffee is provided. Good shower with plenty of hot water. Clean crisp bedlinen and comfortable bed. Staff very helpful and pleasant. They let us book in early and kept our luggage after we checked out so we could pick it up later. Good value for money for an apart hotel less than 10 minutes walk from Oxford St.

There was nothing that would prevent me from staying again. The entrance and hallway in the hotel could do with a bit of decoration as it creates a bad impression when you walk in. The rooms are fine but need a bit of maintenance (cracked tiles, hole in the net curtain, that sort of thing). We were on the second floor and there were a lot of steps and no lift. That didn't bother us but if you aren't very mobile you should bare this in mind. Overall the standard was ok and I would recommend it to friends if they were staying in London.

I find the toilet and shower is a bit small but I guess this is standard in Central London. How I wish there's a bit of space between the toilet and shower coz as Muslim at times it is difficult for us to take our wuduk (cleaning) properly; but it is no a big deal actually. Overall, we are satisfied and we are more than happy to stay at Amber again in the future.

No breakfast booked

Water was hot and cold on and off. Also stated earlier check in on booking.com when we changed but updated to 5pm nearer the time of booking. Said there is parking but there isn’t any only £60 minimum pre booked car park so we had to take train and I am disabled so not ideal :(
