Location is excellent. Rooms are comfortable and clean with more than expected toiletries. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Overall a great place to stay at a fab price.
No restaurant available even though advertised. I have been twice before and enjoyed their sumptuous breakfasts so was very disappointed when the restaurant was not available even though it is described as such on your ad.

The hotel is located on Bankside, 5 minutes walk from the Thames and the "new" Globe theatre and directly opposite the Tate Modern. There are cafés, supermarkets and various restaurants in the immediate vicinity. If you are travelling from Gatwick Airport, you should take the Thameslink train to Blackfriars station. Then leave the station in the opposite direction (follow the signs for Tate Modern/Bankside) and you will be at the hotel in just under 3 minutes on foot (note: Google gives different information here and recommends getting off at London Bridge, which is a 13-minute walk). The hotel is only open to travellers between June and October. Otherwise it is a student residence. The hotel therefore basically has the charm of a youth hostel. And so most of the guests tend to be under 30. Everything is kept very simple, but - it must be emphasised - very clean. The beds in the rooms look like cots at first glance, but they have good mattresses and are therefore very comfortable and you can sleep very well. The breakfast - in a kind of canteen - is very extensive, with both English breakfast and Continental breakfast. The coffee and the cappuccino are very good. There are also plenty of croissants and pain au chocolat, as well as muesli and lots of fresh fruit. As I said, you shouldn't expect luxury, but you can get good accommodation for little money in this expensive city. I would like to emphasize the friendliness of the ladies at the breakfast buffet. Coupled with a pinch of humor, they serve up the fried eggs or beans. The housekeeping staff were always very friendly, polite and smiled when you greeted them. There was also a very nice young man at the reception (blond hair and glasses) who was very accommodating and helpful.
nothing to complain!

It was written that there are breakfast included (we also received info about it from the hotel) and it was not. That was one of the reasons why we chose this hotel. We were dissapointed cause of it :(

Location is excellent, beautiful part of town, with easy access to transport and museum and the river. This is an absolute bonus! Facilities and breakfast very good, especially for large groups and/or families. Rooms very comfy and all very clean.
One thing that I was not happy about was the lack of gluten free options at breakfast. One of the children is our group is coeliac and there were just some slice of bread gluten free. There was a fried potato cake labelled as gluten free, but the staff was not sure whether it had been fried in the same oil as other items, which would have contaminated it and not make it gluten free. Also there were some Oats cereals but again it was not clear if they had been processed in the same place as other cereals. In addition, there were no indication on food of possible allergens. This is really a key point for travelers whose allergies or conditions can be triggered by the wrong food.

The location is spectacular, tucked behind Tate Modern. Staff are brilliant, included breakfast is varied and all you can eat. Loved being around summer students from across the world in the bustling canteen. Comfortable quiet room. Shared bathroom was only accessible by two single rooms, but I was lucky and noone was staying in the other room, so I effectively had my own private bathroom.
It wasn't clear how to access drinking water when in room. I resorted to filling kettle with water marked "do not drink" from bathroom after being unable to access locked shared kitchens with my key fob. Clearer instructions are needed on this. Only 1 pillow provided, could have done with 2.

LSE Bankside served my needs well. I knew that it's a student residence and I was ready to stay in a basic room that's normally meant for students. This is a really great option for London. The accommodation in London is super expensive and one can pay lots for a room in a hotel and be quite disappointed with its quality. I loved the location of LSE Bankside. It's the center of London and we walked to many landmarks. Sometimes we took buses or used the Tube (the stops and stations were close by (10 min walk maximum)). This residence is literally a 4-minute walk away from the Globe theatre and the Thames embankment. We also walked (15 min.) to the National Theatre. LSE Bankside is located essentially in the courtyard/back of Tate Modern, so the noise level is not terrible at all. We slept with our windows open. Of course it's London and one could hear the helicopters patrolling the center of the city even in the middle of the night, but one can hear practically zero traffic noise from this residence. The windows are huge and ceilings are high, so there's plenty of fresh air and light in the room, which is great. The beds were twin but the mattresses were comfortable, the linen was 100% cotton and clean, the bedding is quite good. For what it is -- that is a student residence -- there's nothing to complain about. The desk, wardrobe, dresser, and bedside table were all new or in excellent condition. The reception staff (mostly LSE students) are super nice and helpful. The staff in the restaurant (the breakfast always included enough food choices and it's a buffet style breakfast) is hard-working and friendly. I also appreciated that there was residence security on site 24/7. An option to leave your luggage in a constantly supervised/locked room is a bonus. Even though there're no hairdryers in the rooms, one can borrow a hairdryer from the reception downstairs. I would definitely stay in LSE Bankside again.
The kitchen is not functional. We used the fridge but we couldn't cook anything as the pots in the kitchen were in a horrible state. And this is a pity. There's a microwave there but I personally used it only once; it was not clean (the staff cleans the kitchen every day but many guests wouldn't clean after themselves throughout the day, so chances are you may find the kitchen in a state that you wouldn't like). I also couldn't figure out how to use the laundry room and ultimately decided against washing my clothes in the residence, since most of the washing machines had moldy smell.

The breakfast should start earlier, not at 10:30,especially when you are booking a visit to the amenities of London.

The location is outstanding! Near Globe and Tate museum, right in centre's of London. The breakfast is OUTSTANDING! Plenty of food like omelet, sausages, beans, toasted bread, cheese, butter, honey, peach marmelade, several musli types, milk, orange and apple juice, several coffee types, tea, hot chocolate. All you can eat. Very tasty!
Beware! The stove in the kitchen does not work and was not intended to BUT they DO NOT say this in the description of property. We took pots with us in the ideea to cook our own meal because I have a health condition that requires special food. Usless...! If you want to cook, forget about it. It would be nice to CHANGE that!

The breakfast spread was excellent with plenty of hot and cold options. The staff in the breakfast room were very efficient and friendly. We want to especially commend Agyara who greeted us every day warmly and with a smile. We also liked that the food was organic and fresh and that an effort was made by the catering department to bring awareness to the food wastage. This is actually a student form and used as a B&B during certain months of the year. The closest rail station is the London bridge station which was a 10 minute walk.
The bath supplies kept in the room were inadequate. There should have been communication about the frequency of cleaning or adequate supplies should have been kept in the room
