Very well located, short walk from Earl's Court station, and easy, slightly longer walk to Royal Albert Hall, which is why I booked this hotel to stay after an event. On the busy A4 but I had a room at the back & the sound-proofing seemed fine anyway. Comfortable bed, spacious room and good bathroom with shower. Quick & easy check-in.
I received a message 3 days before saying I had to pay in advance or it would be cancelled. Link to website under Booking.com name asked for card details again & I wasn't sure it wasn't a scam. Challenged and was then told by Rockwell to ignore the message but never established the reason for it or whether it was dodgy.

Simple, clean and comfortable.
Beware Booking . Com scam - first time for me - you get an email from within the booking.com app with a link to pay for your stay within 24 hours else your booking will be cancelled. It’s an obvious scam especially as the English in the email is poor, but given it’s from within the app it could catch some people out. Hotel claims booking.com have been hacked, booking.com didn’t respond to my email on the issue - so who knows. But booking.com you know something of this so please alert customers. As far as I can see you have not done this over the last several months.

Location, cleanness
I booked standard double room. From the photo on the booking.com website, the bed in the standard double room should be in the middle. But the bed in the room I stayed was just against the wall. So the room is different from that shown on the website. So I was a bit disappointed.

It's my 7th time in this hotel. I love the location and how small and quiet it is. The rooms are all different : this time it was facing the garden and very spacious and confortable. The bed was super comfy. There was a lot of natural light in my room. Really lovely The hotel is located in 5 minutes from Earl's Court station (with many restaurants nearby) and 15 minutes by foot from the V&A museum.
Some of the furniture looks dated. The staff looked tired... The cleaning of my room was inconsistent : one day flawless, another day a total miss (no refill of shower gel, dirty glasses, towel and garbage was left) The staff from the restaurant at breakfast kept disappearing so I had to wait 7 minutes to have coffee

We loved the location and the building. The room was so spacious, which was a very pleasant surprise! It had very high ceilings and lots of room around the bed, including a cozy sitting area in the window. I can’t understate enough how lovely it feels to have this much space, especially when staying for 5 nights. The bed and bedding were extremely comfortable and we had 5 great nights of sleep, which is important when you want to walk 30,000 steps a day in London. The location is perfect obviously because it’s Kensington but also because there are lots of good food and pub options nearby, plus just a very short walk to Earl’s Court tube station.
The service from the staff members was quite varied; some were very helpful and others much less so. I found out that this is because, due to general lack of staff, the hotel is forced to hire substitutes through an agency. This wasn’t much of an issue as we didn’t have much interaction with staff.

This was my second stay at the Rockwell, I like the location. It is a 5-minute walk from the Earl's Court station, making it easy to get there from Heathrow Airport on the Piccadilly line and get into the town center by District or Circle line. If you want some British groceries, there's a big Sainsbury's supermarket a 5-minute walk on Cromwell road, and a further few minutes next to Gloucester Road tube station is Waitrose. It's about a 15-minute walk from Kensington Gardens. From there you can walk across the whole Hyde Park to the Oxford Road shopping.
Cromwell Road is a busy road. So be ready for some traffic noise but the bathroom fan in my room was noisy enough to create a bit of white noise so eventually it was ok. Earplugs also came in handy.

The room was a good size. TV channels were alright. There's a large window looking out to the backyard where you can have your breakfast. I like that there's a sofa but nicer if it fits two people. Toiletries were adequate. There's a heater in the room too. A good 5-min walk to and from Earl's Court underground train station.
A bathroom mat / floor towel would have been nice to have cause it can get a little slippery coming out from the shower. The room could use a little update like modern charging socket. We had the ground floor room next to the public toilet but it was no biggie.

The hotel is newly refurbished, very nice and elegant. The sorrounding area is quite and nice, full of shops, bars and restaurants. Earl's Court tube station and the beautiful Glouster Road are at a short walking distance from the hotel. A modern and stylish hall welcomes the guests and the room is the most spacious I have ever experienced in London, the ceiling is high and the bathroom wide and full of complimentary stuff. The staff is kind and helpful, they also made me a surprise for my birthday! The breakfast is excellent, there is a good choice of bread (even gluten free!), marmelade, cereals, dried fruit, and the english breakfast is delicious: also the breakfast room is nicely decorated, a perfect start of the day! It's not easy to find an hotel in London with these features combined all together, we will stay for sure at The Rockwell again the next time we'll come back to London!
There is really nothing we did not like. I would have prefered a more soft matress and a less noisy radiator. Also maybe new windows would help to keep the room insulated and warmer. These are just suggestions, the overall experience at The Rockwell was very good!

We stayed at the hotel for 12 nights. We were a little worried about the negative reviews which, in our case, didn't match what we saw. We stayed in a room on the second floor, facing the street. The room was large, bright, silent and spacious. The bed and shower were very comfortable. Good bed linen and towels. Teas and water available. Wi-fi working perfectly. Individualized heating. Hotel staff is very kind and available. The location is excellent! There are restaurants, pubs, markets, pharmacy, snack bar, tube and buses in the surrounding area. In addition, there is a nearby park and beautiful museums, including: Natural History Museum, Science Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum. Our stay was perfect.

The location was great being just 5 minutes walk from the tube station. We were on the top floor and the room was bigger than we usually find in the area and it had everything we needed. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The breakfast room is on the ground floor with a garden behind. It was very well set out and light and the choice and quality of food was excellent. Everything in the hotel was very clean and it all had a very professional, well managed feel about it. We go to London every year and we are looking forward to returning to the Rockwell!
Nothing major, but the shower control took a while to get used to.
