Very well located, short walk from Earl's Court station, and easy, slightly longer walk to Royal Albert Hall, which is why I booked this hotel to stay after an event. On the busy A4 but I had a room at the back & the sound-proofing seemed fine anyway. Comfortable bed, spacious room and good bathroom with shower. Quick & easy check-in.

I received a message 3 days before saying I had to pay in advance or it would be cancelled. Link to website under Booking.com name asked for card details again & I wasn't sure it wasn't a scam. Challenged and was then told by Rockwell to ignore the message but never established the reason for it or whether it was dodgy.

Simple, clean and comfortable.

Beware Booking . Com scam - first time for me - you get an email from within the booking.com app with a link to pay for your stay within 24 hours else your booking will be cancelled. It’s an obvious scam especially as the English in the email is poor, but given it’s from within the app it could catch some people out. Hotel claims booking.com have been hacked, booking.com didn’t respond to my email on the issue - so who knows. But booking.com you know something of this so please alert customers. As far as I can see you have not done this over the last several months.

Location, cleanness

I booked standard double room. From the photo on the booking.com website, the bed in the standard double room should be in the middle. But the bed in the room I stayed was just against the wall. So the room is different from that shown on the website. So I was a bit disappointed.

Fantastic value for a well appointed, immaculately clean hotel which also served great breakfast. It looks as if it has been recently refurbished because it is all freshly painted and modern.

Breakfast was a little busy but not really a problem

A wonderful discovery. Close to main destinations, on walking distance. A great home away from home kind of place. It is quiet, clean and relaxing. I would definitely stay there again. There is a beautiful garden/patio and the coffee is freshly brewed and made for you. Beds and pillows are super comfy, especially the duvet on the first floor rooms, you get lost in it.:-) It is a bit like an old mansion for nobility. Could use some natural flowers in the main waiting area. Breakfast is good and you can ask for a sunny side up pair of eggs if you wish additional savoury foods. Area is very green and it looked safe. Packed with coffee shops and dinning places. Bus 74 stops in front of the hotel and takes you to the marble arch area ( park lane) in about 20 mins. Is quite handy and beautiful ride.

Bathrooms, although equipped with everything you need, are quite outdated and there are some stains on the walls that can put you off as it looks like unattended. Walls in the baths could use a remake, overall.

Big and beautiful room for London standards, nice desk and a little balcony. Lovely helpful staff and good housekeeping. Decent price for the location!

Bed was really subpar... definitely not of 3* standard. Little was right in this department... Mattress was too thin and firm, horrible pillows (if they even deserve this name... just some old rags with a pillowcase around) and the duvet was way too thick for summer time (hotel couldnt help as they have only thick ones). I didnt sleep well as a result. Improve the beds pleaae! Also had a loud neighbour shouting on the phone at midnight on her balcony which didnt help.

It's my 7th time in this hotel. I love the location and how small and quiet it is. The rooms are all different : this time it was facing the garden and very spacious and confortable. The bed was super comfy. There was a lot of natural light in my room. Really lovely The hotel is located in 5 minutes from Earl's Court station (with many restaurants nearby) and 15 minutes by foot from the V&A museum.

Some of the furniture looks dated. The staff looked tired... The cleaning of my room was inconsistent : one day flawless, another day a total miss (no refill of shower gel, dirty glasses, towel and garbage was left) The staff from the restaurant at breakfast kept disappearing so I had to wait 7 minutes to have coffee

We stayed there with my son for four days in September. Very convenient location only 4 minutes on foot from earls court station and in close proximity to major museums such as the Natural History and rhe V&A museum. The room was clean, air conditionned ,with a large window overlooking the Main street which though it was quite busy gave us no trouble sleeping.(3rd floor).I would definitely return.

We were first given a low ground level room which was clean but had a smell and seemed a little claustrophobic but quickly changed us into upper floor when notified about my son's allergies. Bathroom a bit small.

We loved the location and the building. The room was so spacious, which was a very pleasant surprise! It had very high ceilings and lots of room around the bed, including a cozy sitting area in the window. I can’t understate enough how lovely it feels to have this much space, especially when staying for 5 nights. The bed and bedding were extremely comfortable and we had 5 great nights of sleep, which is important when you want to walk 30,000 steps a day in London. The location is perfect obviously because it’s Kensington but also because there are lots of good food and pub options nearby, plus just a very short walk to Earl’s Court tube station.

The service from the staff members was quite varied; some were very helpful and others much less so. I found out that this is because, due to general lack of staff, the hotel is forced to hire substitutes through an agency. This wasn’t much of an issue as we didn’t have much interaction with staff.

This was my second stay at the Rockwell, I like the location. It is a 5-minute walk from the Earl's Court station, making it easy to get there from Heathrow Airport on the Piccadilly line and get into the town center by District or Circle line. If you want some British groceries, there's a big Sainsbury's supermarket a 5-minute walk on Cromwell road, and a further few minutes next to Gloucester Road tube station is Waitrose. It's about a 15-minute walk from Kensington Gardens. From there you can walk across the whole Hyde Park to the Oxford Road shopping.

Cromwell Road is a busy road. So be ready for some traffic noise but the bathroom fan in my room was noisy enough to create a bit of white noise so eventually it was ok. Earplugs also came in handy.
