The room was spacious, clean, well equipped and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, and the bedside socket ideal for my health requirements. The shower and WC were in good working order, clean, and beautifully soft water. Staff were available 24-7 and were professional and helpful. Breakfast was very good, with loads of choice according to taste, and the on-site chef was very skilled - including making the most wonderful pizza on a Thursday evening. My main reason for choosing this location was to be able to walk up onto Exmoor (North Hill), and for the bus links to Exmoor beyond Porlock and Lynmouth, and also the villages in land.

I wish that I'd been able to stay for several weeks instead on just the one.

Hotel stay excellent! Room and bathroom very clean and good size. Beds comfortable. Staff member for check in was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent and staff serving at breakfast were lovely. Great location for beach and shops.

Booked a table to eat, we were sent to find our table where there were menus waiting. All decided we wanted pizza and then we spotted it didn't look like pizza oven was on, went to ask staff and they said no pizzas. Good customer service would be to tell customers a large part of menu not available before they decide what they are going to order. Staff not very attentive and we felt forgotten in "restaurant" area. No one checked food ok, plates not collected for ages after we had finished. The food we ordered was good but service was disappointing.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a mostly positive experience. The room was small but clean and quiet, which was impressive considering it was located above a bar. It had all the essentials we needed and was very reasonably priced. The location is a huge plus—just a short walk to the beach and all the main attractions, making it super convenient for sightseeing.

The one downside was the breakfast. Unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The options were limited, not healthy options, and the quality of the food wasn't great—nothing seemed fresh.

Too many stairs....quite steep, not ideal if you have any mobility issues or a dog with you. Absolutely nothing for the dog....no water bowl, treats, poo bags....nothing. Not so much as a sausage at breakfast time! And it cost us an extra £20 for the privilege...over the top if you ask me.

Everything! Easy onsite parking, friendly greeting from bar/reception staff - who quickly booked us in, and then just as quickly changed our room to one which more suited our requirements. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean, with cleaning continuing throughout the day. The breakfasts were tasty and very generous, with varied menu. Waiting staff always available and keen to help. Service was very fast and efficient. The bar serves a good selection of ales/ciders/lagers/wines etc - draught and bottled. Plenty of room and comfy seats in the bar /restaurant area. All the staff were lovely. We fully recommend this hotel.

We disliked nothing

The breakfast was excellent, the shower was amazing loved it, the overall atmosphere of the Stones was airey, open, fresh and friendly very pleased with the pub and the stone baked pizza we ate in the evening.

The bed we found was too hard for our liking, and we could have done with two pillows, both the floors in the bedroom and bathroom creaked when you walked across them which woke us up when either of us got out of bed to go to the bathroom during the night

Friendly welcome at check in & throughout our stay. We were able to park in hotel car park out back. Clean, airy, bright room with comfy bed. Big shower in spotless bathroom. 2 good size windows letting in plenty of light. A plug in fan to keep us cool. Good central location near everything including the beach. Dog friendly & quiet. Up to 11am check out.

Only 2 pillows between 2 of us (1 each). By the time we realised when we went to bed it was late at night. We should have noticed earlier & asked then.

'Stones' is a pub and restaurant five minutes from the promenade and the West Somerset Railway station. The 28 bus from Taunton drops one close by. One goes upstairs and there is a section with private rooms - my room was a little cramped (had to leave the suitcase on the bed while unpacking) but that was OK. I ate out on arrival but had breakfast in the pub - absolutely fine. Good value for money and good location esepcially for railway enthusiasts!

The staff were very welcoming and greeted us both in the morning and were on hand to say goodbye and at our departure. The room was very clean, fluffy white towels and crisp white bed linen. The breakfast was well cooked and there were plenty of options to choose from .

probably for us we weren't so keen on the Bar having access to the toilets where the bedrooms were ,Perhaps a key pad to gain access to the rooms might have helped , just giving a feel of extra security.

Ideal location with shops and restaurants on your doorstep and 5 minute walk to railway and beach. Limited parking behind hotel. Staff really friendly and nice pub. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast with cereal/yogurt/toast.Room overall very clean, comfy double bed.

Haven’t really got any negative comments- can hear the music from the bar slightly at night (room was on first floor), and the floorboards in the bathroom were very creaky! Could have done with king size bed as the room was big enough. Was unable to eat in the restaurant in the evening as kitchen closed the 2 nights we were there.
