The Chicken, Ham and leek pie was delicious, very evidently home made. The mash and veg with it were also excellent, I like my veg and it's a rarity to get them cooked so perfectly. The Banoffee pie was definitely not necessary but equally delicious. My newly decorated room was spotless and the brand new bed vey comfortable. What can I say; I think they should get awards for their food. I was still full the following morning but I had an early start and would be out in the wilds all day, so had to refill, the Breakfast was just too good !!! Obviously locally sourced and all excellent.

Leaving, I didn't like leaving....... I am going back at the end of the month though !!!

food was excellent in general . fab roast dinner staff were freindly kind and very helpful . easy parking . and i loved the extra touch of mini eggs when i went down for tea on easter weekend

room was too cold on first nite didnt expect to need to play with radiator then it was too hot on second nite couldnt get towel radiator to work . room 6 had shower / toilet my toilet had a return on it . room 7 was a bit noisy as the kitchen fan duct near or fridge / freezer noise

Staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Our room was clean and comfortable. Both the evening meal and breakfast were delicious. The location was perfect for a walk up Dunkery Beacon and to Snowdrop Valley.

The only thing we didn't like was the big, noisy extractor fan outside our bedroom window. It was fine with the window shut but room was very warm for us and we opened the window. However that would not stop us staying there again, even in the same room as was a minor problem.

excellent communication with the hosts prior to and during our stay, fantastic location, we stayed for 4 nights and the shower was sooo nice and hot - just what we needed after long hikes, we left for hikes very early so only ate once: the vegan curry for dinner was delicious and so was the breakfast - loved the fresh bread and mushrooms! kettle in the room very useful, two large tables and storage space in the room is great, 3 EV chargers at the large car park, we had a wonderful holiday all was just perfect thank you :) would definitely return when in the area again and can highly recommend!

Quaint, countryside location. Old Victorian coaching inn. Wow factor mattress! Best nights 🌙 sleep I've had in Literally Years!! The mattress is So deep. Slept better than if I'd been the Princess and the Pea! No peas there! The landlord is sociable and humourous.

Having to pre-order breakfast. I understand that it's efficient, good business model, but I'm a 'mood-led person and my preferences are according to the moment. Having said that, the breakfast was very good, if a little limited for choices..

Lovely old pub in the heart of Exmoor country. Good food and pleasant staff, we had a dog room which was fabulous and even a dog shower is available, great dog facility. Lovely and clean.

Little bit noisy in the room but not excessively so. Room wasn’t cleaned during our two night stay. Puddings excessively priced at £8.00.

I books originally the rest and be thankful inn. Arrived at 21:30 but there is no room available but the owner was very helpful to find us a room in Royal Oak in luxborough and we thoroughly loves the place the staff is so friendly and helpful. Plus the bonus was the breakfast was excellent xxx

Old style English Inn by the countryside, I would fully recommend to anyone in the area. Great breakfast, absolutely great menu for lunch, a special mention for the venison stew. The heat was on all night which is worth to mention as well. Plenty of parking, and last but not least very friendly staff. I'll definitely be back there if back in the area. Many, many thanks

Breakfast excellent with high quality ingredients. The carvery is worth travelling a long way to experience. Probably the most comfortable bed I've had anywhere ( Premier Inn please note) Exmoor Ales! View to Dunkery Beacon.

En Suite a bit small and wash hand basin hard to access. Minor detail.

Really lovely room. Crisp sheets, very clean room and bonus to have a robe to put on. Very comfortable and quiet. Eric is a character and I enjoyed a few chats with him. Good hearty breakfast.

Sat Nav/ Siri gets glitchy as you get close to the inn....dont follow where it shows up on these as it sends you up a laneway and a good 5 minutes away from its true location. Its on the main street and one back from the petrol station.
