The bedrooms are fantastic. Very comfy beds, easily the best I've slept in away from home. As an ex-hotel manager myself, I was very impressed with the room (room 5). The furniture was lovely and amenities in the room good. A few recommendations from the guests' perspective - a shelf in the shower for shampoo, etc, decaf tea and coffee, adding to the courtesy tray, and the addition of a hairdryer would improve guest experience. We also didn't have a do not disturb sign, and the breakfast room had no music playing, so it was silent whilst eating. Having a radio playing would have made a much nicer atmosphere. Not critisms at all, just little additions to improve your guests' stay. The walls in our room also need a touch up of paint in places but giving that it is currently peak tourist season I fully understand that kind of work is done in the winter months and I'm sure is already on the agenda when it's financially feasible to take rooms offline for decorating out of season. Otherwise, though, the room was spotlessly clean and immaculate. The only thing that slightly let the place down was the lack of basic customer service, unfortunately. Whilst service improved during our stay, we unfortunately received a frosty "welcome" from both owners on our first encounter with each of them, which did dampen our experience and made us feel quite unwelcome at first. This did, however, improve during the stay slightly, and we were made to feel more welcome by the end of our 2 night stay after us making an extra effort and trying really hard to strike conversations up (one would argue though that effort shouldnt be required from the guests). Tip: A smile and a "good morning" go a long way with your guests in my experience. My first experience when arriving for breakfast was met with "tea or coffee" in a tone that was more of an accusation than a question! No, hello, good morning, hoe are your or a simple smile.

Other than the somewhat lack of basic/any customer service from the owners, especially at breakfast, nothing at all. We had a lovely stay and would still recommend it as a lovely and comfortable place to stay and would love to see the service improve for others :)

Bed was nice and comfortable, shower was ok. Convienient location for the town and the West Somerset Railway. Parking was free if you could find a vacant space directly outside the premesis.

Breakfast was not served before 8.45am, not conveinient for anyone wanting an early start, particually for those touring and exploring the locality.

The breakfast was excellent, very hot and plenty of it. Our room was a little tired and could do with a lick of paint but it was clean and that’s the main thing. The location is perfect and our room had a fantastic view of the sea. Sarah behind the bar was so friendly and polite.

There was nothing that we didn’t like, other than some areas needing a lick of paint all was good. A door is the corridor slammed on a few occasions but didn’t really bother us.

The view to the sea was great and it wasn’t noisy despite being on the sea front. The breakfast was lovely and the quality of the meat is the type that you can only get from a really good butcher. We got a warm welcome from everyone at the Quay Inn and we had a great time, would definitely stay again.

The lock to our room didn’t work so we left it on the latch and the room generally needs some TLC. But it must be hard to do when they are as busy as they were when we stayed. But these negative things didn’t detract from our stay, we would go again.

Price of cider !!!! Location very good. Food all cooked well . Staff friendly especially the two girls. Room all very clean

We didn’t enjoy going up two flights of stars to the room also steps to the garden. The outside areas needed a bit of care and tidying up to really improve the Inn as it had such a lovely position.

Very well located at the far end of Minehead, ideally placed for starting the SW Coast Path. Quite decent pub, good beer and very substantial breakfast. Easy to park outside and/or nearby when out of season.

Nothing substantial - offers good value for money
