Great free parking entrance to Hotel nice and spacious bar area large and clean staff nice and friendly menu had good choices mainly scottish fare. Room although compact was adequate large bathroom loads of hot water great shower
Heating was not adequate although there had been a problem that was fixed the heating was on timed and went off around 5pm! we spent more time cold than warm. There are a lot of cobwebs in the Hotel expecially on the ceiling of our room. There are several large cobwebs in the restaurant next to the speaker not a good look when the Hotel otherwise looks spotless

SPACIOUS modern room with excellent shower and comfy beds. Plenty of storage. We stayed Tues, Weds and Thursday night. Nice and quiet after 10pm. We could easily get a meal or coffee etc 12 to 8pm .Good quality food with plenty of choice.Good parking area. So convenient for coastal walks or going up to Edinburgh by bus, Excellent service from friendly staff.
The garden area would be transformed if it had a higher wall or fencing to create a more private area for guests. The bedroom window would benefit from a privacy screen roller blind so that the curtains could be drawn back to let light in in the daytime without outsiders possibly looking in.

Great location approx 30 mins outside Edinburgh. Bus stop right outside. Fisherow Harbour close by. The room was comfy with nice modern shower room. The staff were very helpful. We mentioned the noise and they closed the bar door on the 2nd night which helped. The breakfast was very good. We stayed in Room 1.
It’s popular pub so the room was noisy but it stopped around 11pm. The towel rail in the shower room didn’t seem to be working.

The thing that we like the most was the breakfast. Included in the price, we had the possibility to try the real full Scottish breakfast and it was amazing. Also the pancakes with cream and berries were delicious. And we liked the bathroom, was new and modern, with a lot of light, the shower was quite big and the bathroom spacious
It was a bit cold. I think the radiators were not working, we put them on (as the staff told us to after we complained about that), but we waited and they never got warm. That was unfortunate and the only issue in the period of staying.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ravelston House. We chose to stay here as we thought it was more reasonable in terms of quality and price than staying in Edinburgh. The staff were friendly and helpful and we couldn't rate the food in the restaurant more highly! We had our first experience with haggis - trying haggis bonbons and also the Balmoral Chicken. They were delicious! The room decor was modern with a Scottish tartan wool theme.
The bed was quite uncomfortable and squeaky, along with some of the floorboards.

A well run hotel with relaxing atmosphere, sociable & very pleasant staff only too willing to make our stay enjoyable. Clean bedroom & surroundings with a lovely fresh smell as you enter the hotel. Very good restaurant with well priced meals. Tasty cooked breakfast to start the day & served until late morning, no rush. Edinburgh is within easy access with a regular bus route running just outside the hotel. There's plenty of parking area with digital security registration.
A more open view would have been nice, but having a bedroom not facing the main street it was very quiet. An easy chair was needed in the room for more comfort.

Warm welcome from the team. Bedroom was a bit small but only there for 3 nights and went out everyday. The bathroom was lovely with a really good shower. The hotel was busy with wedding receptions. But didn’t stop the staff from providing good customer service.Good bus service into Edinburgh, short stroll into Portobello which has some nice independent coffee shops. Will definitely stay again.
Breakfast was not the best on the first morning, but was a lot better on our following days.

Very close to dining and the marina, parking at the property Bed was very comfortable and room was very nice Breakfast was great
We checked in at the appropriate time but apparently there was only one person to do this and she was bartending She seemed a little out of sorts. We had a little bit of a wait before being taken to our room. Same person was there for breakfast. We went down 2 mins before the official breakfast time (people were already seated) and she said it wasn’t time yet and to just find a table and get our own coffee. After a bit, she warmed up and breakfast was delicious Everyone has a bad day, or two and I wouldn’t let this deter me from staying again

Location, very handy with good bus services right outside the door, The place was very clean, and the staff helpful.Lovely room with a nice shower, comfy bed, and very roomy. The breakfast has a large number of choices and a bit overcooked for me was fantastic. Free car parking also a bonus. A great local pub down the road near the theatre,(1bus stop) called Staggs,(the Volunteer Arms), real ale and friendly locals. Also near the pub a Gurkah restaurant which is highly recommended
The bar prices £9.30 for a pint of craft IPA and a coke, If cheaper I believe it would be more popular as it was only had one drink there in 3 nights. But everything else was great.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, The room was comfy and super clean, and breakfast was excellent. The "£5" any cocktail week was an unexpected, but welcome surprise.
I was in room 1 and there was a door at the bottom of the stairs that "Squeaked" every time it was opened - this happened quite often throughout the night. Maybe some DW40 would help resolve. One other point is that the room and breakfast was the same price whether it was one or two people. I was on my own, so , even a slight reduction in cost would have been appreciated
