Friendly welcome from reception and knew we were meeting up with family. The bar was lovely although seats don't really suit the setting. Lovely light dining room, good meals and breakfast.

Not knowing the area took a while to find. The mattress in the bed was not comfy and duvet very thin. Also and I know this is not the hotels fault, maybe a reminder to other guests when booking in to be respectful of coming in at all hours and waking up other guests.

All the people we met were great and very accommodating.

Our evening meal of chilli and spaghetti bolognaise at £26 was very poor value for money, no offer of anything else ie Parmasan salt or pepper ,garlic bread.They had a large booking,so we felt very second thought,and that would do.The meals would normally only have been about £8 each in a decent restaurant so very disappointed. Last time we stayed at the hotel it was it was an excellent meal,one of the reasons we went back,won't happen again.

Staff were very friendly on check in, when encountered returning late at night, breakfast and check out. Breakfast was good. Good service and range of food. Able to switch items for veggie alternatives.

The cleanliness of the room. Vacuuming could have been better. There were toe nails on the carpet and bits of cotton/ fluff. Staff were apologetic at check out.

Breakfast was very good. The staff were very helpful. Availability of iron and board for pressing clothes was much appreciated. Booking in procedurę was seamless bearing in mind the out of hours staff were required to book us in. Fan in room was much appreciated bearing in mind there was no air conditioning. Comfortable bed and opening windows. Pictures on walls of room very attractive. Garden area very pleasant. , ample accessible powerpoints for charging phones etc. Ample parking available and free.h

Extractor fan in bathroom required fixing and cleaning. Dated furnishings in room require renewal. Television reception very poor despite retuning set. Door of bedroom difficult to close quietly. Breakfast delayed on first morning due to waitress serving other guests ours!

Gail was the one who received me. She listened and helped me out with everything. She went to the extent of finding and booking cabs for me for every day i stayed successfully. Also, when i had to extend my stay she made sure to sort it out for me even though it was a fully booked hotel the next day. i cant thank enough all the staff for their amazing welcoming. the food was very good.

the rooms were very dated and also the beds were almost falling apart. and the toiletries that were listed to expect were not all there. the hair drier was really bad that got a small shock on day one and never used it again.

I had the full English Breakfast which was good and there was also a selection of other hot meals as well as cereals, juices, toast and plenty of coffee/tea. Service was quick and friendly and I felt the staff would have gone out of their way to assist with anything else if I'd needed them to. The rooms and amenities are a bit plain and dated but very tidy, clean and comfortable so all that was need for a couple of nights' stay.

The upgrade offered by Booking.com did not match the room I was given. I decided to take the upgrade as I have mobility problems and the room was described as full wheelchair accessible. It was not! With steps both into the building and into the ensuite shower room. This was OK for me but would have been a disaster for someone truly wheelchair bound. Booking.com should take more care to check accessibility details are correct as this is vital for someone with severe disability and could cause very real distress if not accurate. I mentioned this to the head receptionist who, having assured me it was not the fault of the hotel, has, I believe, been in contact with you to discuss this discrepancy. I hope your description of the hotel will be amended accordingly.

Location, friendly and helpful staff, very good breakfast. The room and shower room were both clean.

The room was very small, and the old sash window let in a cold draught. The soiled pair of socks under the wardrobe were a surprise. Perhaps the housekeeper should carry out a proper check in future.

All the staff were amazing and did all they could to make my travelling companions stay better.

There were no accessible rooms even though beforehand we phoned and asked for 2 rooms close together and 1 accessible. Unfortunately 1 of us was in the main building and the other was away round the other side of the other building.

Being in a good location to the Showground really helped us with regards to the Newark Antique Fair event. Excellent facilities for parking, especially larger vehicles. Food was really nice and being able to eat in three locations in the hotel especially outside on an evening really helps.

Unfortunately we did stay at the hottest part of the year and there were no air conditioner in the room. Fan facilities in the room did help and was well appreciated.

Hi i arrived quite late o did not smle the food - the room I had (44) was located in an annex away from the main building and perhaps the walk way could have had more lighting apart from that I was very comfortabland if in the area again would probably use the facilities again

The Car parking area was rather full when I arrived and little space so use the Robin Hood car park it was unclear if this was free or not
