Lovely location above the city of Norwich - a 20 minute walk down the steepest hill in the city, and we chose to this back from the market square as it was a very steep hill to climb on a very hot day! Cost £7 to get back up. The room was big and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious and varied in options. Staff were friendly and accommodating.
The bathroom is very big and could have accommodated a much bigger shower - we are above average sized humans and the shower was very small and dated.

The William IV is a no frills traditional pub with lots of character providing B&B rooms. The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to look after us. Very good breakfasts well presented with good quality ingredients. Normally they do not provide evening meals but prepared two excellent dinners on each night of our stay one of which we ate with a dart match going on behind us. The room was well equipped with a comfortable bed and a small fridge (photo). The William IV is well located for visiting Norwich Cathedral etc. but it is on one of the many hills in the City thus a steep climb back up Gas Hill as others have mentioned. Would stay there again.
Nothing - we enjoyed the atmosphere of sharing with the Pub's locals during our evening meals which might not be to everybody's taste.

Breakfast and meals were superb and staff were really helpful in meeting my specific requests. Landlady and the bar ladies all lovely and very considerate in changing my room to a more 'accessible' one even though I hadn't requested this. I was made to feel very welcome.
Bathroom was looking a bit 'tired' with rusty rails and fittings. I think they are having a refurbishment though so I'm sure this will be addressed. Otherwise my room was very good and not noisy even though it was close to the bar area.

Room was spacious, clean. Amenities in room were great. Coffee maker, fridge, complimentary water provided. Had a comfortable sleep. Breakfast was delicious. Catered for a variety of dietary requirements. Unexpectedly there was an Electric Vehicle charger. Rate was very reasonable too. Staff were very friendly and looked after us really well.
Bathroom was a little dated but perfectly fine. Fresh towels provided.

Enjoyed our stay in this small friendly and quirky pub. The room was perfectly adequate, comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Parking was plentiful and felt safe. The option to enter and leave with a separate rear door was good if you didn’t want to go through the pub itself. We had a few drinks each night in the bar and felt very comfortable with the friendly staff and locals. Breakfast is amazing with lots of choice and very good quality ingredients. We visit Norwich often and we will most certainly book here again.

We were welcomed by a very friendly guy when booking in and throughout the stay nothing was too much trouble,( Dalton i think his name was ). The pub had a really nice feel to it and had a very good selection of beers. The Breakfast that was on offer was great and set us up for a long trip back home. The facilities in the room were more than enough, the bed was very comfortable and was impressed with the size of the bathroom. Would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Pillows a bit too hard for me. Nothing else really. Nope can't think of anything!

The location was fine we didn’t walk anywhere as our age group ranged from 64-76 so walking any distance was not an option.the accommodation was great and the staff were first class, they made us feel very welcome from the start. Nothing was too much trouble, any questions we had were answered and dealt with promptly.
There was nothing we didn’t like. The food was lovely and always cooked to perfection. Maybe warm the plates when serving hot food might be a good idea.

The staff were welcoming and attentive. The room was all I needed for a place to sleep and wash etc. and the Bed was Excellent - I felt as though I sank into it yet was supported at the same time.
This is not so much What I didn't like, as it took me by surprise, In spite of my research of the venue, I hadn't expected a bar with large TV screens and football being shown (I am not particularly a football fan), but soon after I had been shown my room I realised it was not affecting where I was going to be sleeping! Besides I immediately returned to the bar for a drink ... or 2!

Super quaint and cosy, exactly what one might want while having a chill Norfolk holiday. Bed was comfy, room was very clean with a surprising number of amenities like a fridge and a standing fan. Soundproofing was pretty decent for an older building, barely heard anything from the pub downstairs. Everyone was very kind and welcoming but especially Dalton.
The wifi didn't seem to work! I didn't bring this up though, since I'm awkward and have a good data package on my phone 😅

The room was not only huge, but it was equipped beyond anything I'd expect for the price, Indeed anything I'd expect to find outside of a mega-chain hotel. Examples of surprising extras: Tassimo coffee machine wifi repeater fridge safe The car park was big and easy to find. The bathroom was massive, with a very good shower. The breakfast was excellent.
Nothing about the hotel. I'd recommend it to anyone. It's a bit of a hike up the hill if you're out in town without transport.
