We saw a few reviews about the property holding “at risk and homeless” people so we were initially hesitant. We shouldn’t have been. We were welcomed and shown to our room. It was a basic double room but absolutely fine! Working shower, Netflix on TV, comfy bed and they honestly couldn’t do enough for us for breakfast. They were all absolutely lovely. As for the “at risk and homeless” people staying there - they caused no bother and I absolutely had no problem being in the same property. I would much rather people be under a roof than out on the streets. It was lovely for the price.

This was our second stay at the Watlington Inn and once again it was a joy. The place is in the middle of refurbishment but it was still comfortable and clean. The ladies who run the place are amazing , they couldn't do enough for us and are the friendliest staff you could meet. We can't wait to see how it is when the refurb is complete

The only complaint we have is a lack of mirror in the bedroom but I'm sure that's in process. The road is an issue but there's nothing that can be done about it we still managed to sleep even with the windows open

So glad we found this little gem so different from places we have stayed before, on arrival we were made very welcome shown to our room which we loved the fact its all on one level, nice room with very comfy bed with drinks making facilities, not to far from the centre as we were going to a gig at Queens Hall. So what can I say about the breakfast it was freshly cooked to order and tasted delicious just what we needed to set us on our way. Would I stay again that would be a big fat Yes thank you .

Nothing we didn't like

As always the staff were welcoming on arrival and was told the rooms had been refurbished. I had my usual room when in the area and was pleasantly surprised with the updated room, the bed was comfy and a lovely hot shower. I had a peaceful sleep as usual and really enjoyed the fresh cooked Full English to set me up for the day ahead.

I always try to stay here when I'm in the area Can't fault anything I will definitely be staying again

Room was clean and modern. Rooms were serviced daily, beds were made and towels replaced as necessary. Staff were warm and welcoming and willing to help in any way they can, were very accommodating of my later check-in times. Free parking out front and could always get a space.

Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. Staff very helpful. Going through refurbishment in corridors. Staff made sure contractors didn’t disturb us. Good breakfast.

Maybe advertise if you do food outside of breakfast time and offer a breakfast menu so people know the choices? Nothing we disliked at all.

We had a warm welcome from the manager, who escorted us to the room. She explained fully what was at the hotel ie Wi-Fi plus food and drink availability. The room was, wow…..can’t put into words how clean and the bed was so comfy, one of the best nights sleep we had in a long while. Overall a really nice and friendly atmosphere.

The hotel is undergoing some renovations but the room I had was clean, looked great and the bed was very comfortable. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful; the food is a good price and very filling!

The location was ideal for where I was travelling to with with Breakfast full English freshly cooked coffee and juice
