The welcome, the room all was wonderful

My daughter and I had an evening meal in the adjacent pub. we were rather fed up when at 1bout 8pm we asked for coffee at the end of our meal to be told the pub was closing and the coffee machine had been turned off and cleaned!! This was a Sunday evening! On Monday morning when I went to the pub for breakfast I asked if it would be possible please for someone to bring me the food - I have mobility problems- rather than me having to serve myself from the buffet. I was told rather grumpily that was certainly not possible. All the other 6 hotels at which I stayed - including the Premier Inn - had made sure that someone was able to do that for me and I was very grateful. What a pity that the dining room should let down the hotel.

Did book in advance, aware of multiple local events so was more than would normally pay. Arrived early and after a quick coffee our room was ready. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We arrived back from our concert just in time for last orders, think we were last to leave the bar. Again, staff very friendly and politely reminded us of drinking up time. Lots of parking, no problem getting a table for breakfast, good selection, a!though I just had yoghurt and toast. Staff busy restocking and clearing tables. Overall, would stay again, very good location for motorway connections.

Coffee with breakfast was from machine, so not as nice as the one we paid for on arrival at the bar, but totally understand there would be no way to supply coffee on order to so many people. As expected in most places.

Overall the stay was great. The very little contact we had with the hotel staff was friendly and pleasant. You got the feeling that nothing was too much trouble. The pub was busy with a great atmosphere. there was an ABBA tribute act playing and it made for a great night. our evening meal was very enjoyable, and great value for money. The breakfast in the morning was buffet style, but everything was fresh and again very enjoyable.

There wasn't really anything to not like. its a perfect place to stay for an over night visit such as ours.

Room was large, king size bed, 2 chairs, large walk in shower, room spotless, tea coffee hot choc and biscuits were put in room, plus toiletries in bathroom, staff so friendly and helpful whenever you want more, the breakfast was far the best we have ever had, plenty of selection, all very hot, staff amazing.

There was nothing we didn't like, we had a 1st floor room that overlooked the carpark and honestly thought we wouldn't sleep well with noise, but we slept with windows open all night and never had any problems at all. We both slept really well.

Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was plenty of choice. I would say that it would have been good to have some gluten free cereal and something to tell you whether the sausages on the break fast were gluten free. We could have asked though so it wasn’t a problem.

The room was large, clean and comfortable. My only slight criticism would be that the room was freezing when we went in and whilst it didn’t take long to warm up it was very cold for Mum who is very slight and elderly. There were no instructions on how to use the heater in her room either so that didn’t help. There was also no heating in the bathroom so l would suggest if you were there in winter once you had put the heater on it would be advisable to leave the bathroom door open so it could warm up.

Great staff! Wonderful breakfast that kept me filled up for many hours and had lots of choice. Very clean room with comfortable beds. Lighting in bathroom could have been better, but very clean, with a bath, shower and plenty of hot water, so it was still very good. Biscuits, coffee, hot chocolate and milk in the room. No fridge but the staff are so helpful they’d probably have found space in their fridge if necessary. I thought it might be noisy as it’s beside Costco and the motorway, but it was very quiet and calm in the room. Thank you Boat and Horses - I’d love to come back next trip here!

Maybe bathroom lighting, but really I was quite happy.

I had an amazing time at the Inn. The rooms are cosy and nice (even though they’re basic). The beds are incredibly comfortable. The setting by the canal is beautiful. The pub has amazing food (so long as you’re not vegan), great beer and super friendly staff. It’s surprisingly easy to get to the inner city from here, you’re 15 mins on a good day and 35 mins in heavy traffic. There’s a bus you can take, Uber is an option too, or a tram if you don’t mind a walk. Oh and on top of it all, they have breakfast included! I will be staying here every time I come to Manchester.

I’m surprised they chose to lock the windows from opening all the way, since it’s only 3 floors high. The inner hallways are narrow and non-ventilated so the smell of weed from the hallway completely overwhelmed the room and the narrow ventilation we could get. I got quite sick multiple times due to the strength of the smell. It’s a coin flip if you get the rooms overseeing the canal, whose view is quite nice, or if (like us) you face the other way. In this case, the traffic noises in the morning and the car pollution are not as lovely. I think they could really benefit from planting some trees in front of the building to block some noise and pollution, as well as window flower baskets.

The room and bathroom were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. There are was a good selection of food in the restaurant but they had run out of garden peas and the kids' mini pizza in the evening. That said, the kids' meal that we did choose was very good.

The TV in our room didn't work and the receptionist did try to fix it but couldn't. It was disappointing that the restaurant had run out of two basics at dinner, garden peas and mini pizza.

The staff were absolutely amazing & made my parents feel so welcomed & special during their stay. It was a present for their 50th wedding anniversary, the staff dressed the room with banners & balloons & went above & beyond to make they're stay memorable. The whole place was wonderful & set in a beautiful place. My parents are already planning their next stay, this place is the whole package. They said the food was great from the breakfast to the carvery. Great staff & great food!
