So welcoming! A nicely furnished, lovely big house, full of character, with a really spacious, comfortable room (with a proper coffee maker!) and a modern shower room. There was what looked like a lovely garden too, but unfortunately it was rainy for us. Dead handy to have their own small car park by the house. Really excellent breakfast as well, with far more than the usual fry-up options. The house is in the perfect spot - really quiet but less than 10 minutes to walk into the centre. We got some great recommendations for dinner and had a lovely Italian meal just 5 minutes up the road. Would definitely recommend!

Rob and Melissa were very welcoming. I was walking The Offa's Dyke Path with a very heavy rucksack and Rob kindly drove out the 2.5 miles to pick me up from the trail and ran me back to the trail in the morning. A pot of tea and biscuits in the garden awaited me on my arrival! Melissa rang around checking on the last eating times in the restaurants for me as it was a Monday evening. The room was very elegant with a comfotrable bed and a good shower. After several days of hard walking and camping this was an ideal stopover to relax a bit and recharge. The property is situated within easy walking distance of the restaurants and pubs/bars of Oswestry. The cooked breakfast in the morning was superb and set me up for my long walk.
I have nothing negative to say.

The hosts were very welcoming, attentive and helpful with excellent knowledge of the local area. The house is amazing and our room was fantastic - spacious and spotlessly clean with small fridge for water, milk etc. Breakfast choices were very good with the full English breakfast cooked to perfection. We can't fault it. We found some good local restaurants.
We didn't dislike anything. It was the perfect location for exploring Shropshire & Wales.

The hosts went out of their way to make us welcome and facilitate our stay, allowing us to check in early and use their facilities ahead of time to accommodate our needs around the timings of a wedding. It was so helpful, having travelled a long distance, to be able to freshen up before the event and park at the property during the wedding service. It was nice, after a long day, to have a good night's sleep in a comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast in the morning.

We really enjoyed staying in this lovely boutique hotel. Our room was large, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We were not expecting to be able to park off-road, so that was a real bonus and on the morning that we left the hosts allowed us to leave the car in their parking place while we explored the town, even providing us with a town trail, as the tourist information had been closed when we arrived. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice, which you ordered the night before, so that it could be freshly prepared to order in the morning. The host were extremely helpful, providing lots of information on restaurants in the area and even offering to drive us to a nearby brewery, when it started to rain. We will definitely be returning.
This is a very tiny thing, but I thought that I would mention it anyway. The address of The Chilton was given as Ferrers Road, but it is actually on the corner of Park Street and Ferrers Road and faces onto Park Street, which is where their sign is, so perhaps this needs to be pointed out, as it took us quite a while to locate the house.

The hosts were most welcoming; breakfast was excellent in quality and volume; bed was so comfortable and shower had excellent power. The location was close to the town for walking in to and was in a quiet location. We were offered use of the lovely garden and we enjoyed an evening coffee on the patio with our hosts. All in all, a really lovely experience after not using a B&B for many years!!! Would visit again most definitely!

The property was beautiful and Rob and Melissa couldn’t do enough for us. They were such brilliant hosts that they made us feel like part of the family. The breakfasts are wonderful with plenty of choice and cakes arrive daily to go with the excellent choice of hot drinks. Milk and water are also in the fridge. There is everything provided in the room and bathroom, nothing is forgotten. Our stay here was wonderful and we will no doubt be back again. We can’t thank Rob and Melissa enough and the lovely Hannah too. xxx
Leaving it!

Wow! Beautiful property - Chilton House exceeded our expectations. Our room was called Chess and had luxurious furnishings and was extremely comfortable. We loved the extras; the coffee machine, the fridge for our fizz and the brownies! Oswestry is a lovely market town and we had a fantastic meal at Townhouse Brasserie - fully recommended. Melissa and Rob were our hosts at Chilton House and are extremely welcoming and friendly. They recommended places to go and pubs for a drink. They have such an eye for detail in the beautiful furnishings of Chilton House. Breakfast was delicious and the service was fully attentive and welcoming. We had the full English, and we could tell that everything was fresh, by the full flavours. We would recommend Chilton House to people who are looking for that special stay! Thank you Melissa and Rob!
Nothing - everything was amazing!

Our hosts were an absolute pleasure: if you want to chat and socialise you could not find a more engaging couple; should you wish to do your own thing they’ll recommend local spots to enjoy and allow you to come and go as suits. A most enormous, comfortable bed, luxurious room facilities - tee/coffee and fresh milk (delectable biscuits and cake!) mini fridge, bathroom toiletries, fluffy towels - and tasteful high end decorative touches. We chose the larger of the rooms (Monopoly) and it did not disappoint - especially the roll-top bath. A beautiful, pristine property, with ample parking, in a central but quiet location only a short walk from all pubs, bars, restaurants, shops, everything. We even had our own user account set up on the smart TV for streaming apps during our stay! The breakfast was exceptional…what more can we say? Forget the posh hotel down the road, or any of the chains…you can’t get better than this in Oswestry (or most places!). Thank you Rob and Melissa for your immaculate hostelry and enjoyable company.
In this instance, honestly, this is a ludicrous question. The only thing we didn't like was having to leave!

The location of the property was excellent, very close to town, with easy access parking off the road. The owners were very attentive and made our stay very comfortable. The rooms were well decorated, aired and clean. There was tea and coffee and cake on arrival. We enjoyed a nightcap with the owners and in the morning a wonderful breakfast with plenty of choice was on offer. Checking in and out of the property was smooth and with ecpert advice from the owner we had an onward journey enjoying the Cambrian Heritage Railway and local brewery .
