The house is a very lovely old building. It has nice features and old features which does show but still makes it look nice. The lady who owned the property was very nice and easy going, quite helpful if you need anything. I stayed in room 5, which was cosy and warm. Breakfast is available on request which was told to me when I arrived. If you want breakfast you need to let the lady know so she can prepare it for the morning, don't just expect breakfast if you have not requested it, which makes reasonable sense. However I did not request any as I was out most days from early. There are not many places to eat around the area, apart from two pubs which are extremely expensive and you don't get much for your money. Other than that the house is very clean, the cats stay out of your way. I had a good stay. Quiet in the evenings. The WiFi does connect in the property, and I had no issues with it.

The part that I did not like about the property is that the bed was very squeaky, which made me paranoid as I kept thinking I was waking the person up below me, when I moved in the bed.

My room had a beautiful view opposite a church with a lovely little pond. My room was warm and cozy and am glad I didn't book into a commercial hotel. Debs the owner was very friendly and helpful and the cats were no bother at all. They kept themselves to themselves and were not the slightest intrusive. There are also 2 pubs that serve food within walking distance so you can leave the car behind and be entertained.

There was nothing to dislike. I did not require breakfast so it didn't matter that there was none served.

The B&B is quite an experience. It's so unlike almost any other you're likely to find. The house is extremely old, and as well as a B&B, it's very much a home complete with 3 cats. Our room-3 was spacious and very clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a bath and a shower and again, was very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. Our room was at the back. The house itself is roadside. There is parking right next to the house. We were offered fresh milk to take to the room. Breakfast saw a choice of cereals and cooked food. Whittington Castle is opposite, and it's worth popping over to the café, and for a walk around the ruin. Grass areas allow for a picnic too. If you want to experience somewhere/something different, this is definitely a must. We would return if in the area.

A word of warning about the stairs-they are very steep and narrow.

This is a perfect Shropshire hide away with a superb location just a few minutes away from Oswestry. I loved being directly opposite Whittington castle. Such a beautiful place to be. There is also a great fish and chip shop and two really nice pubs that serve great beer and food only a very short walk away. Perfect sized rooms and bathroom. Highly recommended. 5 star.

Location was perfect for daughters wedding at the castle opposite. Breakfasts were very tasty and delivered to the room at the requested time. Room 3 was clean and quiet and had plenty of extras. Host was friendly and helpful. Fresh milk always available.

The rooms were rather quirky as being an old building the floors, stairs etc were very uneven. My husband had great difficulty with the narrow stairs due to a mobility problem. There was no WiFi signal or mobile phone signal for us in room 3 although okay in other rooms. Very noisy from traffic in room 1 where my daughter stayed but beautiful castle view.

Great location for visiting surrounding area and a pub within walking distance with good food. Parking was free, next to the B and B. The room was spacious, light, spotlessly clean with a great shower in the en-suite. There is also a shared lounge downstairs. The decor is retro style in keeping with the house, there was hanging space for clothes as well as seating with a coffee table to appreciate the excellent view. Kettle with ample tea/coffee and fresh milk. TV and plenty of power points for charging camera, phones etc. Debbie is very welcoming, friendly and chatty. We were made to feel at home and will go back again when visiting relatives in Shrewsbury. Due to Covid restrictions breakfast was served in our room, we enjoyed bacon sandwiches overlooking Whittington Castle, it’s moat and wildlife. We also loved her three friendly cats, they are not allowed in the bedroom.

The property is on a fairly busy road, not something I’m used to. It was fine and earplugs are supplied!

My Queen & I enjoyed our stay at the Fitzwarine House. The owner - a lovely woman. The view from the window as we dreamed of. An extremely charming place for the weekend.

The building is old and that gives it charm. If Someone is a fan of modernity and all kinds of comfort, let him look for another object and not spoil the opinion. The only downside is that we were there far too short.

The fact it was so informal. I could come and go as pleased with my own access key. The bed was devine... so very comfortable.... i truly had the best nights sleep. Exactly what i needed after a very hard days work creating wedding flower displays at Hawstone Hall nearby. Debbie the owner... so lovely to chat to and greeted me warmly. Not intrusive at all. Shower was loud... but increadibly powerful. Cleanliness... the room was spotless. Lovely breakfast in the garden with the cats... who did not scrounge for food. I am an animal lover. The view from the room of the castle and duck / wildlife pond. Noone knocking on the door every hour asking if i needed anything... trying to push extras. Peace and quiet. The venue has been flooded a couple of times and work is ongoing but Debbie is bouncing back from that and covid shutdown. Couldn't have asked for a lovely relaxing overnight stay. Thank you Debbie.

The picture doesn't reflect the volume of traffic passing by. It didn't bother me but i can imagine it would others as this photo doesn't reflect the actual setting.

View from the window-lovely. Place clean, warm & comfortable Hostess very welcoming and helpful Bed comfy Surrounding area great Lovely old building with character. My partner & I felt thoroughly relaxed which is what we wanted after working through the last stressful 18months.

Nothing really- Yes its by a main road but that didn’t bother us and its clear online that it is.(earplugs were there if needed) Shame that due to covid, breakfasts weren’t all sat together in dining room but Debbie (owner) more than made up with her alternatives brought to your room.
