Breakfast was a hamper delivered to our room. Plenty to choose from and was convenient as we just got married, so we could properly enjoy our room and time together. The room was huge, bed was comfy, and the bathroom was also amazing. Location couldn't have really been more central yet quiet and away from the tourist crowds. Staff were also incredibly helpful (thank you Hugo & Jasmine) and went above and beyond to help us with arrangements surrounding our wedding and beyond.

Definitely on the more spenny side but worth it for the service, room and convenience. We are glad we lashed out for out special weekend.

Perfect location for sightseeing and cafes and restaurants. It is walking distance to the centre of Oxford and for sightseeing. There are cafes on the street right outside the door of the hotel where we enjoyed alfresco breakfasts.

Unfortunately there was no air conditioning and we had an electric fan to use during the unusually hot summer nights. It is understandable that a 200 year old building would not be air-conditioned. We knew what we were getting when we booked the holiday and it did not detract from an enjoyable stay.

The "superior" room was splendid - ample room (indeed 2), chairs, facilities, shower all fine. The location was excellent, in central Oxford, overlooking a lesser street and Oxford Union, so light, if not entirely quiet when windows were open on hot night - but fine and appropriate. Hotel was small and personal. Staff were efficient/polite + very helpful - good at luggage management.

The arrangements for breakfast were quite confusing - at least confused and didnt work well for us. The procedure involved ticking boxes, the (mid) night before, as to what exactly was wanted for breakfast by each person, at what time and whether to be consumed in the bedroom or breakfast room. Quite a bit over managerial - but it was a small place and they did believe in preparing rolls etc. fresh. But it was far from obvious that this had to be completed for a breakfast taken in the breakfast room - so we didn't do that. Result chaos and a rather skimpy breakfast taken rather than accept 25 minutes waiting....

The room was absolutely beautiful and for the money, exceptionally good value, everything worked as it should and the bed was very comfy. The staff in particular were excellent, able to provide excellent recommendations and directions to some local amenities and overall, just exactly what you would want from a hotel. The location too, just absolutely perfect for a short or longer stay in Oxford

There really wasn't anything I didn't like or found to be lacking, the room was lovely and well presented and I don't think they could improve on anything.

beautiful property, fabulous space and locations is spectacular. rooms are huge and comfortable feels incredibly luxurious. staff were attentive smart, elegant and great people persons obviously love their job we were treated very warmly. in my opinion the breakfast was not good value for money, although very aesthetically pleasing it was not substantial for the pricing meats and some small rolls plastic 3 cheese wrapped from a multi pack but no butter? a yogurt and crunchy nut cereal in a take away pot but not enough milk no sugar on the tray for the coffee only disappointment. I would stay again but not include the breakfast.

it wasn’t the property as such it was the noise outside we could hear word for word the builders that decided to stand outside our bedroom window at 6:50 am and chatted for an hour before they started working, building work directly outside the hotel of which we were not informed of. they hotel was perfect and our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable

location excellent. room cosy. decoration, of what we saw - reception, corridor, our room- was fine and furniture in room looked modern

tv guide on remote hard to work - and half the time no information available. bed very soft. having to have breakfast in room - lack of choice, eg no fruit. no instructions for coffee machine. poor lighting in room. our room was classed as accessible (because I have knee arthritis and there was no lift, it was the only ground floor option to book); whereas the bathroom/wet room was obviously set up for a wheelchair user (which I am not), there is no way a wheelchair would get into the room or be able to manoeuvre around the furniture! also, the two handles on the wardrobe door had screws sticking out on the inside - I caught my arm on one nearly every time I opened a door. they need covering/capping

My family and I were a group of 6 and we wanted adjoining rooms at our arrival as requested. The reception staff did everything to accommodate us in the best way possible considering each of our needs. We were also very happy to find that most of the staff speaks Spanish. The staff was always very friendly, attentive and helpful. Gave us tips for enjoying the city and helped us out with everything. It was great because we were on a long trip around UK so we were carrying heavy luggage and we never felt unattended or unsupported. The rooms are spatious and very nice. The hotel has a homelike feeling. Everything was clean. Water was provided. We loved it, would definitely come back

So many great things about this hotel. Location is literally less than 5 minutes to Westgate centre and 30 seconds walk to St Peter's college. The staff are fantastic, friendly and so very helpful and considerate to your needs. I emailed them with a few questions and they replied very quickly and helped with finding me a suitable room for my physical needs. The hotel was spotless and had a really lovely atmosphere. My room was perfect, so comfortable and clean with little touches like water in the fridge and shower gels. Bathroom was lovely with a really great shower. I didn't have breakfast but I imagine it would have been lovely as the hotel clearly had great standards. I stayed in room 4 and I didn't once hear any noise from the outside, the blackout curtains were a godsend as I'm a light sleeper but I definitely slept well in the very comfy double bed. For reference if you need disabled parking there are spaces outside the hotel and on the street opposite St Peter's college. You can park there for free for as long as necessary but it's a first come first served basis. I'll take my car next time. Thank you to the staff for being friendly and kind and for looking after my luggage. I'll definitely return over the next three years while my son is in uni.

We were able to drop off our luggage ahead of our check-in time which was super helpful. They also let us leave our luggage after we checked out until it was time for our train. It was very warm when we were there and one of the staff found another fan for us to use which made a big difference in our room. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The best part about the hotel was the location, which was amazing. We ate breakfast every day at the little cafe down the street and it was just lovely. We were able to walk everywhere that we wanted to go. It was also an easy walk to the train and bus station.

The only real issue that we had was with the weather. Those older buildings hold in the heat, and our room, which was on the second floor, got pretty warm, but there isn't anything that the hotel can do about that! And they were as accommodating as they could be.

Room was very large and historical with unique features. The bathroom was spacious with all the needed towels and soaps. Clean and comfortable, coffee & tea and cookies, water bottles provided. USB power outlets present. Bed was comfortable. Day staff very helpful and pleasant and taxi comes to the curb in front conveniently.

Very noisy street in the evening all hours till 4am on a week night I suppose students. My room was premium with a view and at street level, so be aware if you need quiet rest or if that bothers you to perhaps consider a different room. There is no land line in the room which you wouldn't think is a problem until your international cellular plan decides to not function properly.
