Lovely hotel, beautiful building, welcoming staff, room was fab overlooking High Street and views up towards the Bodleian Library, have breakfast in courtyard then pop across the road and explore the colleges - location could not be better. Only word of advice make sure you read the website for directions for parking before you set off and if your vehicle is big its a tight squeeze to get into the parking area from Magpie Lane.

Breakfast could have been better

Location is fantastic, dinner was great as was the breakfast in the morning. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Room (Deluxe double) was a decent size and clean.

The room was right next to the alley which runs down the side of the hotel and is a busy thoroughfare for students by the sounds of it. Make sure you get the car park postcode before hand as its a 20min drive from the car park to the front of the hotel even though its literally a 30s walk ;-) Also, its right opposite christ church and we were unfortunate to stay the night that they put scaffolding up at 6:45am on a Sunday morning ;-( but you cant blame the hotel for that.

Wonderful location and lovely hotel with a unique art collection. I loved roaming the corridors admiring the artwork! The staff was easily available, friendly and helpful. We loved the newspaper being left at the door in the morning, that was a really really nice touch. Nice selection of teas in the room, too.

We found the restaurant a tad overrated. The space is nice and here again the artworks are worth a visit of their own, but our lunch was quite average. Our room was very small, making it hard to keep both suitcases on the floor, but that’s ok. It was otherwise comfortable and we had everything we needed. (Including an ironing board and iron when we asked for one)

Brilliant location, super room and breakfast very good. Excellent customer service, although somewhat over-attentive at times - a very small gripe.

The cost. Very expensive, probably £100 per night more than I expected to pay - London hotel prices really. And the way a deposit is taken to cover 'incidentals'. Surely an establishment of this calibre doesn't have to resort to extracting monies (not obvious at the time of sign-in) like this.

Another great stay at this lovely, well located hotel with parking which is complementary (though the hotel isn't cheap so you pay for it within the price of the stay). Lots of amenities in the room; complementary still/sparking water, lovely hair/body lotions and potions, bathrobe/slippers, turndown service and even a fridge with drinks and treats (extra cost obviously), which is a rare find these days! Had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was also very good, as usual. Went for a stroll after dinner, it was raining but the hotel had put out lots of umbrellas in the stand at the bottom of the stairs for residence to use.

fantastic location right in the center of Oxford. Nice restaurant and bar options in the hotel and immediately around it.

Two things of note: 1- We could not check into our room because until after checkout time, although service recovery Champagne was offered. 2-The other thing that requires a better description is the restricted travel zone adjacent to the hotel that we drove through (and will get a ticket from) on our way into the parking lot behind the hotel. The approach to the hotel to avoid this area of road restriction should be more specific.

It's not a great idea to drive in Oxford because there aren't many places where you can park and the city is designed to be pedestrian/cyclist friendly. For that reason staying in a hotel with very short walking distance to everything was very convenient. They were able to book the parking space in the hotel in advance which put my mind at ease. (They even allowed parking earlier than check in and taking the car a couple of hours after the check out because there was availability) The room didn't have a view but it was nicely designed.

Corridors were a maze. They need better and legible signage. The room had a bit of a damp/old house smell.

Good room, well presented and comfortable. Lovely bathroom and spacious bedroom. Hotel was very quiet at night. Car Park was a massive bonus. Bar and food was lovely and the check in process was pretty good. Best location in Oxford - easy to get to and from and really well located for all the attractions.

Only 3 out of the 4 car charging points for EV's were working - one is too close to the bin store so its pretty much impossible if your charging point is on the wrong side. Wi-Fi was very poor in the rooms - neither the Guest nor Conference wifi worked well at all.

Comfortable, clean & convenient. They presented us with a very thoughtful Happy Graduation selection of mini desserts. I had mentioned in my booking that we were there for our daughter’s graduation!

Upon arrival, the Staff knew we were waiting on Airline delayed luggage (four days), they might have made the gesture to offer something more to help lighten our mood & lack of personal belongings. Idk. Free breakfast one day? Complimentary drink? Slippers??

I love this hotel, stayed several years in July when I come to Oxford for my conference.

No groom or stuff member to help with luggage at late hours, also early in the morning. It used to be different, but this year there was only the night receptionist, who was very helpful, but he was not supposed to leave his post to help me cross the street to the bus stop when I was leaving for Heathrow early on Monday morning. UNACCEPTABLE for such an expensive hotel!!!
