We were welcomed warmly by Ally & Mike & shown to a beautiful room at the front of the B&B. We stayed for four nights & thoroughly relaxed & enjoyed ourselves. The bed was really comfy & the breakfast was scrumptious, with so much choice & a gorgeous dining room. Penzance, Mousehole & Newlyn were some of the highlights of our week, & all were easily accessible. Holbein House was a happy & friendly place to be, which was a complete reflection of the team that is Ally & Mike. And not forgetting to mention the delightful Elvis & Molly! Thank you for a wonderful time.

Absolutely nothing!

We had a warm welcome from hosts Ally and Mike and their assistants Elvis (canine co ordinator) and Mandy (Feline admin) ....Holbein is a beautifully presented Victorian House ... absolutely pristine . Our room was compact but perfectly comfortable with attached shower room. Breakfast is around a large communal table with a wide range of options perfectly prepared by Ally ... Mike acts as an attentive and entertaining go between and host. Mike is knowledgeable about Penzance and beyond. We took a boat trip with Coastal Tours at his recommendation which absolutely 'made' the weekend! Thanks to all four of you for making our stay so perfect. We hope to see you again soon!! Nothing really .... It's a typical victorian house with a lot of stairs. We loved the communal breakfast. All that's clear on the website ... it suited us fine!

Beautiful house, exceptionally clean and great hosts who go the extra mile. Beautiful room which is a good size and breakfast is superb - even for a coeliac who often experiences no choice or no breakfast. Parking is easy on the road.

Really small points but would improve with a fan available in the room - we arrived late so weren't able to ask for one and it was very hot in the room. Somewhere to put your own shower stuff when in the shower although they do provide shower gel. The kettle is complicated and potentially a risk. The first thing you want is a cup of tea often before you read the instructions and we managed to spill water but mopped up quickly and could have burnt ourselves. These are really picky but just points to make a great place even better.

The room was large, light and airy with excellent facilities and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was very smart and had everything we needed. Check in was easy and flexible and we found parking on street with no problem. The breakfast the next morning was excellent and the hosts very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay with them again as our first choice.

There was nothing negative that was in the control of the hosts. There was a rather chatty rookery outside the window but I suspect this is probably only when they're nesting and there is nothing you could do about it anyway. They were quite funny to watch.

We visited with family and both rooms were absolutely beautiful, clean and comfortable, and on a beautiful street. The hosts were warm and friendly and gave really helpful advice about local eateries and helped with a visit we'd planned for the next day. The hotel is in walking distance of the seafront, and a short drive to the Minark Theatre and St Michael's Mount. Breakfast was gorgeous - the fresh fruit salad was delish, and (please don't laugh) even the seeds to sprinkle on yogurt or muesli tasted moreish!! And the cooked breakfast was lovely. And so was the homemade banana bread! The hosts were attentive throughout and gave brilliant service. And we loved sitting around the big dining table - lots of opportunity to chatter to other guests. And if you see the framed poem about Cornwall on the mantlepiece - definitely worth reading, beautiful, made me cry ☺️ Lovely lovely stay, thank you

Mike & Ally were very warm friendly and welcoming hosts. The room was beautiful very tastefully decorated , spotlessly clean and nice and warm. Bed was very comfortable. For breakfast you had a very good selection of cereals fruit , yogurts and bread. Plus lovely homemade banana bread. ❤️The full English was beautifully cooked and well presented.Dining room beautifully decorated.Perfect place to start the day. The location was perfect not to far from the town plus only a short drive to Newlyn,Mousehole etc and the heliport was only a few miles away. We will definitely go back and stay again and would recommend it to family &friends.Good value for money

Nothing to dislike , absolutely perfect!

Fabulous hosts, amazing breakfast and Elvis and Molly were the icing and the cherry on the cake. Can't wait to go back. Plenty of information given on places to eat, visit etc. Lovely room, comfy bed and good shower.

When we got home we tried to book for a week later in the year. Sadly there's not much availability so we won't be back until next year. That's the only thing I didn't like about Holbein House..........it's too popular!

The hosts at holbein House were very friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond and were happy to help with any requests. Holbein house is super clean, cosy and warm. Breakfast was really good and Ali and Mike catered for all of our breakfast requirements. We had the added bonus of meeting the extra host Elvis upon arrival aswell who is super welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be recommending to friends and family and hope to come back again soon.

Everything was beyond perfect from the moment we arrived, the place felt like home away from home. - Perfect location - with a nice walk through the park to the city centre. - The room was clean and cosy. - Breakfast was a feast, from selection of breads to the delicious cooked breakfast each day. The banana bread truly is legendary! - The house is wonderful and tastefully decorated - definitely got some inspiration! - The hosts, Ally and Mike, are incredibly kind and welcoming, taking time each day to chat with guests and to recommend places to visit. - Elvis is the cuddliest cutest friendliest dog, putting a smile on our faces each morning. - Coronation celebration was an extra perk for us, the decorations alone were a nice touch.

We didn't like the fact we had to leave!

A five star stay with Ali and Mike and Elvis the dog . They were gracious hosts, the room was excellent in decor size cleanliness. I can’t remember ever having a better stay, both myself and Steph my wife would like to thank our hosts for a great stay and a much needed break. We would like to congratulate them on achieving the no.1 slot of all the guest houses in the Penzance area for quality and value - a well deserved accolade for all their hard work. Can recommend Holbein House to everyone thinking of staying - five stars ! ***** 😀
