The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was fairly helpful. The restaurant quality was good for dinner and for breakfast.
I am well aware that this is an older building in an ancient town. There are limitations with such a set up. I would have preferred to have been informed that there wasn't even a drop-off place for luggage at the building. One needs to be prepared to be hearty enough to park in a supermarket parking lot, then drag bags about a quarter mile to the hotel. We were on the 2nd floor and the elevator goes to the first floor. Dragging a heavy bag up a winding stairway can be a bit of a challenge for an older guest. I understand the facility challenges...just would like to have known about them ahead of time.

I was very impressed with the Wetherspoons restaurant. The staff are very happy to accommodate you in terms of dietary restrictions. It is good value as well and tastes great. The restaurant is open from 7 to until about 11pm I think (you might want to double check) so it’s super convenient if you arrive late and need to find somewhere to have dinner when other places are closing. The dinner I had that evening was so good that I simply had to go and have the same thing for lunch two days later! I am now a fan of Wetherspoons because of this hotel! The room was very clean. You could tell it had been cleaned to a very good standard. The decor and history of the building was fascinating. I wish I had taken more photos!
The air conditioner in the room was a teensy bit loud occasionally at night. I would take earplugs just in case perhaps, if you are a very light sleeper, but I think this is a good idea wherever you stay so I can’t complain really.

The location was beautiful, especially being able to look out and see the beautiful river. The bathroom was nice and spacious. It's great being a wetherspoons hotel as we could always just nip down and get some food and drink.
If you want a shower it's a struggle as there's a huge beam right above your head which to me is a health and safety hazard. There was no air con and its been the hottest week of the year so it was a bug struggle to sleep. A lot of the time when we got to the reception there were no staff even in the daytime so if we did need help we wouldn't of been able to find anyone.

I liked being in a Wetherspoons property, as it was convenient for our meals. Our luggage was safely stored before check in and after check out, which gave my grandson and I, the opportunity to enjoy our break to the full. Location was fantastic, central to everything e.g. the railway station (walking distance). Located in the city centre, next to a river, and close to the Cathedral. We pre-booked a lovely 'three in one' tour for Stonehenge, Old Sarum, and Salisbury Cathedral. The ticket includes bus travel and entrance fees. (southcoast.digitickets.co.uk)
Our room was too hot, and we had to try and get the temperature lowered at reception as it wasn't individually controlled, which was a bit difficult, but we got there in the end,

Smack bang in the middle of town so great for shops parking is in the back of Sainsbury’s in cancel car park poor signs on what to pay but Monday to Saturday it’s free after 18:00 two 08:00 and on Sunday it free after 16:00 two 08:0 and the cleaver bit for hotel guests is if you go back to the cat park after 18:00 or 16:00 on Sunday and pay for 1 hour or 2 hours etc this time runs over to the morning so the more hour you pay for the longer you get in bed plus they do a great breakfast big full English £8.00 and from 07:00 so if you are working away you can have breakfast
Gas company are digging up the road The locals say it’s been going on for the best part of two months

The hotel is in central Salisbury and overlooks the river. You would not be disappointed with the location if you want to see Salisbury. The room was right at the top of the beautiful building but would be difficult to negotiate the stairs if elderly or infirm. The room was a good size, clean with all the usual trimmings. Good sized bathroom but the shower was a little awkward. The window was very tiny but with a view over the river. The bed was two singles pushed together and made up as a double. It was huge and very comfortable. The breakfast was a Wetherspoons standard menu and so it had plenty of choice for a cooked breakfast with decent coffee.
The check-in was 2pm which is a little late although we were able to store our luggage behind the bar. The staff were all very helpful. We phoned ahead for parking information and we were directed to Salisbury Central Car Park. The car park had been demolished some time ago and so we had to find another. No real problem but the Wetherspoons database needs updating. Parking was not included as an option and costs £30 for an overnight stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant meals were quite OK for the money. We had breakfast and dinner there and found it a good alternative to eating out elsewhere. The location on the river was nice.
It was a bit of a journey from reception to the room, with lots of corners to turn and doors to pull or push! The so-called „family room“ was quite different the picture of the room that we booked, which had the appearance of having a semi-detached area for the third person staying there. That was quite disappointing.

The room was very comfortable (208), bathroom clean and water very hot with nice fluffy white towels. The bed was good and the bedding clean and well cared for. The tv was of good quality and the room was pleasant to be in.
There is a large fan (probably the cooling unit) in the yard outside the window, which has a really unpleasant and unremitting noise. The window needs to be open for ventilation, in order to prevent condensation, but we had to close it on the second night to avoid wearing earplugs. Not so much volume as frquency. A roadside room wouldnt have this problem, but it was the ONLY negative thing of note to comment on and closing the window solved it.

Central location. Interesting old building. We advised we would not be checking in till after20.00. Had to ring for reception but they arrived promptly and made us welcome. We really liked the long bath and all the facilities. We enjoyed our excellent value steak meals in the evening and our breakfasts in the morning.
The plastic key was rather grubby. The low beams would have caused me problems being over 6 ft. However they were so low that it was my wife who hit her head twice and me being an experienced head-banger had no trouble.

A lovely room with a view of St Thomas's church tower so that was lovely when the bells rang on Sunday. Comfy bed. Good bathroom. The location is really central so perfect for walking around Salisbury. We tucked into a Wetherspoons breakfast in the bar downstairs and that was great.
Local parking. There are no spaces on the street unless you pay and move every couple of hours. There's a huge Central Car Park about 5 minutes' walk away but when it's dark there just aren't enough lights there. There's also a serious lack of markings on the tarmac. £10 a day.
