Beautifully presented property with attentive staff. Lovely ambiance to the building. The rooms are like going back in time. Decor of your grandmother’s house - luxury all the same. Gorgeous lush carpets, curtains and bed linen . Was confortable and the bathroom was modern and stylishly done.

My room was a single; however, it was a fire door room? The window was the main fire door for the building. It was so hot it didn’t feel safe opening the window - because it opened onto a stairwell and felt like someone could walk into the room from the outside.

Really like travelling back in time. I loved the monogrammed everything including bath robes. I think I had an upgrade from a single room as it was a lovely large room and big bathroom. Really quiet and relaxing. The staff were all super nice as well.

I missed the Seaton Park Run on Saturday as my car had been blocked in the hotel carpark. They double up the cars because of the small space. If you can find a place to park on the roads surrounding this shouldn’t be a problem.

The high level of service, and the extra touches to make my tiny room without a view (107) a very comfortable place in which to stay - bottles water, biscuits, fresh squeezed OJ, bathrobe, Molton Brown toiletries, blankets and feather pillows (monogrammed!) instead of wretched duvets and foam, stationery, face cloth, 24 hour room service, valet parking, excellent afternoon tea, Champagne by the glass, location.......

The TV screen was rather small so not easy to see. At tea I would have liked homemade jam for the scones and a linen napkin rather than paper. Spare plug sockets for my own appliances were not easy to locate. On my wish list would also be a vanity kit so that I had cotton buds!

The breakfast was amazing! Lovely fruit/yoghurt to start with followed by a full English breakfast, tea/coffee/toast, certainly sets you up for the day! Kippers/omelette/poached cod - all were very tasty. Pastries were fresh, the whole breakfast experience was excellent, with fantastic service. The location of the hotel is perfect, with the promenade/beach opposite, couldn't wish for a better position. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, special shout to to Anthony, the doorman, who was very attentive every time he saw my elderly mother. Waiters/housekeeping/front desk, all made the stay comfortable and special, thank you.

There wasn't anything we could fault during our 3 day stay

Ideally located with very good friendly staff. Hotel has an almost Agatha Christies feel, very quaint. The facilities were all up to date.

Parking was limited, but you could prebook to ensure a space. The rooms were a little old fashioned but that comes down to a style choice, they were perfectly maintained and clean with all the facilities required. I was a little surprised to find tea/coffee was not included in the breakfast price as a regular traveler with my work, tea has always been included everywhere else I've been.

Beautifully situated and kept hotel across the road from Esplanade. Old world charm with most attentive staff. Parking is available behind the property, for an additional ÂŁ10 per night. Assistance provided if required by concierge, who is readily available. The resort is definitely worth a visit, I should add.

Not a criticism. The fine dining wasn’t necessarily for Me as a last minute solo traveler. So had hotel bar meal one evening and found local alternative the other, without a problem.

Very good choices and staff were able to help with dietary tequirements

Room was not cleaned or made on 1 day Price could be better for long stays The room was very hot when we arrived and we had to ask for a fan There was no fridge to keep wine or food cold. Most modern hotels have them especially if the clientele are having bed and breakfast only We did not expect sheet and blankets and not a duvet

Absolutely outstanding in every aspect. From the moment I stepped through the door until the moment I reluctantly checked out, this hotel exceeded all expectations. The blend of charm, prime location, exquisite cuisine, unparalleled service, warm hospitality, immaculate rooms, and an ambiance that wraps around you like a comforting embrace truly sets this establishment apart as one of the finest in Britain. My face couldn't help but sport a constant smile throughout my entire stay. Highly recommend!

There was nothing to improve upon...near perfection!

There is a fantastic welcome at the Riviera as concierge Anthony greets us, parks our car, shows us to our rooms and carries our luggage. The rooms are comfortable and have reasonable space - I guess the sea-view rooms are even better. Location on the sea front is brilliant. All in all, an excellent place to stay and we will certainly return.

Nothing to dislike.

Traditional hotel, a bit of a throwback, in a nice way! Very attentive service from the moment you check-in. Clean room with everything you’d need for a comfortable stay. Excellent location.

Would have been nice to have A/C in the room but listed status makes that challenging.
