We loved our room with its little balcony overlooking the gardens and the outdoor spaces which would be great in the summer. Backing onto the Byes with its ancient trees this was a short cut leading down to the Main Street and ultimately the esplanade which was a perfect distance for two ancient guests to walk. Many of the guest guests had been returning for years. It is perfect for older people but not for the young. The staff were delightful. Breakfasts were very good.

The menus changed each night and were imaginative, varied and beautifully presented but accompanied by huge dishes of overcooked vegetables which we found quite off putting though we did notice that some guests devoured them!

The Breakfast was absolutely superb.. We’ve stayed at big name hotels & as I believe, the Hunters Moon used all local produce, it was incredibly flavoursome compared with the big group names. A real refreshing change. Hotel grounds are immaculate & perfectly manicured, hotel was welcoming & clean. Lovely staff (the main man who bought out the breakfast was particularly cheerful). Would definitely stay again if in the area

The Bathroom toilet roll holder was quite flimsy & kept coming off & the extractor fan could do with a vacuum to remove the built up dust..

Hotel and grounds are in a good location to the town, Staff were excellent nothing was to much trouble, Breakfast was very good plenty of choice and room was comfortable. A lot of good walks to do in the area.

Nothing not to like concerning the hotel & staff, We chose a break during the winter period but would like to return during the summer.

Breakfast was included and exceptional. Dinner was an excellent set menu choice and great value. The wine list is good and not over priced. I stayed twice in one week in two different rooms. Both were very comfortable and quiet with very good in-room facilities and newly renovated bathrooms.

Nothing. My only comment is that I had an early morning departure on my second stay and had asked for a light breakfast, croissants and coffee, for 7am as breakfast started at 0830, but this was not prepared. It is a minor detail but it would be nice to have a continental type breakfast from 0730 available until the kitchen opens.

The room was clean and comfortable, with a large bathroom and direct access to the grounds. All the staff were lovely, especially Niki who remembered us straight away from a visit a few years back. The food was exceptional. It is a very comfortable and welcoming place to stay

The staff all were friendly and efficient and ready smiles. They guessed correctly what you wanted and were eager to provide it. All told not much to require for improvement. Food on offer exceeded what I could cope with at my age of 85. Variety excellent.

The limit of only one house wine by the glass and that being Australian Shiraz. Nearly all restaurants would have a Merlot for example . As we wanted wine by the bottle we could easily live with the restriction. The shower controls initially difficult to get the hang of and shampoo bottle plunger didn’t function but we had our own.

Really excellent breakfast with large choice including crisp croissants, very well freshly cooked food including fried bread (!) and delicious kippers! The dinner menu changed every day and every meal was beautifully cooked. The room was very clean with a good en-suite (shower over bath) and multiple charging points. The car park was secure with multiple EV charging points and the hotel was located in a quiet area.

Nothing! The only issue was the fairly poor state of the approach road outside of the hotel - not the hotel's fault!!

Beautiful, Georgian house with great parking. Short walk into town. Comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. Great, freshly cooked-to-order breakfast.

There was little atmosphere, other guests weren’t very friendly - not the hotels fault. Room a little clinical. Bare walks and sparse furniture. It didn’t feel cosy. WiFi kept dropping out which was irritating.

We wanted somewhere special to stay in Sidmouth for our anniversary. This place fit the bill. All staff were friendly, cheerful and efficient. Our bedroom was spacious, clean and contained all that we required. The breakfast and evening meal were both well cooked and presented. You can park your car here and take an easy walk into the town, or just relax in the beautiful garden. We would highly recommend this hotel if you want to chill out away from the bustle of life in the town.

The food, both breakfast and dinner was very good. The waiting staff could not do enough for you and were very attentive. Good choice for both breakfast and dinner. Heating in the room was easily adjustable. The hotel grounds back on to a park by the River Sid, which makes for a lovely location.

Not the most comfortable bed, but that might be down to our needs. There was free wifi but the signal strength was very weak in our room.
