Breakfast was good, breakfast staff were exceptional great group of people

Room was serviced every day, fresh towels etc but one major concern was the bedding was not changed once in the week we stayed, I have already sent in offical compilation via email

The property is quiet comfortable and secure One staff member (Bev) in the dining room was brilliant. She was very personable and actually looked like she wanted to be at work. Chatted and was genuinely very caring and attentive

Menu in the bar could be a bit more varied. On this occasion a lot of the staff were miserable looked like they could not be bothered. I have booked most every week with work and this week was possibly the worst. I actually cut my lip on a glass that had a piece missing when I bought a drink I raised it with bar staff no details taken no entry into an accident book no concern could not have cared less. Also staff missing from bar area chatting and carrying on in a room behind the bar out of sight but within ear shot. There was a list on reception about available slots at the spa and when I went over to enquire I thought I was speaking a different language.

Rooms spacious and comfortable. Only thing that was wrong was the tv wouldn’t work. After a quick trip to reception and one of the ladies visiting the room, the tv was reset and worked…..until the next morning. As we weren’t around all that day we didn’t get another reset done. Breakfasts were good and we had evening meal in the hotel the first night which was lovely. Staff on reception helped us whenever we asked questions. Pool facilities were good, used on a couple of occasions. Bar staff very friendly. All in all a good visit.

Apart from the tv not working properly there wasn’t anything else that we could find fault at.

Dinner was good. We had a super friendly member of staff at breakfast. All the staff were bright and happy at breakfast which is fairly unusual!

Hearing back from Reception when I booked was slow and took more than one message to get an answer. The staff on Reception were not very personable and at check in reeled off their spiel as if from a script. On check out I mentioned a cobweb in our room for which they were most apologetic which was good, but the presence of cobweb was not good. On our return home I realised that we had some lost property left in the room. It was extremely difficult to speak to Reception. Every time I was put through to the correct extension no one answered and the message told me that I couldn't leave a message. Once when I did actually speak to someone. They informed me that they would speak to housekeeping and get back to me, which never happened.

Lovely place to stay, with lots to like. The room was modern, well equipped and very comfortable bed. I liked that there was a fridge and plenty of space, plus separate bath and shower. Breakfast was great and really liked the pool and facilities.

A few things are a bit tired sadly, which let's the overall place down. The bathroom in my room wasn't all that clean ... the loo seat wasn't clean (in the bits that are hard to reach but still need to be clean) and there were little balls of dust in all of the corners of the bsthroom, not what I would expect for a hotel of this class. The same with the spa ... mostly amazing but in the ladies changing rooms, the shower doors didn't have locks on, mirror was peeling in one place and the soap dispenser broken. The swimming pool is a lovely pool, but if you look up to the ceiling vents they are blocked with gunk ... not a pleasant sight when doing back stroke!

The rooms were really comfortable and very spacious. The food in the bar and our breakfast the next morning was lovely. We had a great night for my sons birthday at the mamma mia night. The resident dj saved the night. The girls singing were really good.

The spa facilities are decent enough but I wouldn't come here just for a spa break. One of the rooms didn't seem to be working, but no signs. The glass to the sauna would be better if it was misted so it's a little more private. The mamma mia party night was a great night, the three girls singing were great but the acting was very odd...nothing to do with mamma mia and a creepy guy calling himself Nico walking around harassing everyone. It would have been much better with out him and if there were some scenes from mamma mia or just no acting at all. This event I believe was a company that formby hall brought in externally. The main meal food was nice enough but the desert "buffet" was terrible. We could only have one thing and the cheese cake I chose was very strange and still frozen.

Nice hotel/ staff great/ food nice/real spacious room /nice bathroom / room service /dressing gowns/ phone in the room which is a rarity these days! Nice view from the patio area / friendly ducks

As mentioned in other reviews, the car park was very busy - but there is an extra plot of land you can park on (but just means a further to walk to reception with luggage). Slightly disappointed that our room had a brick wall facing the patio doors - but this was soon alleviated once you stepped out onto the patio area as there was a nice view of the golf course - next time we would request a different room that has open views from the patio (we was made aware we may not get the room we wanted on booking, so this is not a complaint)

Lovely grounds and staff were nice too Rooms and bathrooms were very big and well cleaned, with lots of strand the aircon worked well - always a bonus! Terrace was lovely to sit out on for an early morning coffee or a post dinner cocktail, watching the resident ducks go about their business It’s brilliant for golfers, but great for families too. Leisure centre open long hours with lots of facilities and a pragmatic approach to accommodating children. It’s in an excellent location with lots to do in the doorstep, especially the amazing beaches but also a very frequent train service into Liverpool for all that has to offer

The leisure facilities were amazing. Really enjoyed the spa pool the sauna jacuzzi and steam room. Swimming pool was also amazing not too deep at all. My room was amazing, I had the garden view room, the views were amazing :) I would definitely be back! Breakfast was amazing with great views :) overall an amazing trip up to Formby!

I was a little upset about the jacuzzi although it was lovely it did switch off and the wait for it to switch back on was about 20 minutes or so. This should be controlled by the public using the jacuzzi I would say xx

The staff were very supportive and friendly and plenty of them on duty given the number of parties and golf players using the main bar and restaurant area. One thing I would comment on is, given the ambiance of the main bar area and the beautiful grounds on view the selection of background music and volume really does need looking at……it is not a street bar disco…….but again it isn’t Forest Bathing……. Just saying. The breakfast was superb and plentiful. Rooms were perfect, no noisy air on, curtains that cut out the light, bathrooms roomy and clean. Helpful service staff. Love the hallway prints of the statues. Lots of alternative parking places. A gem.

There is nothing we did not like………it was a pleasure to have visited the hotel which I have never been to. Could you put in a few paths/walks so that non golf players can appreciate the grounds. I know that this will be a challenge but you do have some beautiful grounds…
