Location fantastic

We stay at the prince of wales a lot we love the location staff are friendly. The breakfast is okay, but lunch and diner menu is awful. we've made numerous attempts to dine looking at the menu, giving it a go, but it's dry, cold, awful, really needs addressing lots of customers, complain about it when sitting in the lounge you here it a lot I'm sure if this was looked at and better menu put in place your ratings would go up. Morrisons do a better menu and the food is hot and really nice enjoyabl. Also we've had really bad rooms and nasty smells and we've asked to move

The location was excellent The staff were lovely and helpful The food was well cooked and appetising The evening entertainment was good The room was clean and comfortable He drink was reasonably priced The hotel had a good buzzy atmosphere The building is old and elegant

The room was not serviced once in 4 days We had to go to reception for new toilet rolls and clean towels The food was good but slightly repetitive The breakfast ends too early at 9.30, it should go on till 10 am

We like to visit Southport and the £42 room was too good to miss. Bed breakfast and dinner for total of £87 a bargain. Room was spacious comfortable and had everything we needed.

Small elevator which was often to full making me carry luggage up/ down stairs. I am 66 and can still manage but others may not. Room furniture is a little on cheap side. For price we paid not an issue for us . Was too hot would have liked a fan . In dining room noticed a lot of people with mobility issues struggling down steps .Pillow was too bulky opted for a cushion.

Everything, tbh I'm not really a picky hotel person. I'm there for the nightlife. If your booking a hotel to sit there all night picking at things do yourself a favour don't spend the money and stay home. My bed was comfy and my room was warm. My shower worked brilliantly and the staff were friendly and that is all I can ask for. Yep I will be back as cheap and convenient and central to the bars. Wheres the bar and the beer ? Is all I've gotta say.

Nothing I would just shrug it off anyway. I'd never not like anything as it is just my base. My mini boys room to get my act together to go out.

The receptionist was a joy - super helpful and very cheery. The whole place has a certain ambiance you don't get so much these days - not old fashioned exactly, but down to earth and full of ordinary people out to have a nice time. We had a lovely room overlooking Lord Street on the first floor. Nothing spectacular but a comfy bed and lots of space. A little noisy from inconsiderate neighbours but didn't really disturb us.

Car parking was a nightmare. We were lucky to get a space in the adjacent street, otherwise it would have been a bit of a treck to the nearest car park. The restaurant was closed when we arrived so we ordered a carry-in pizza. Not ideal but it did the trick. The pillows were unnecessarily hard (why?) although the bed was otherwise comfortable. The room was overly warm for me but my partner was happy.

It is a grand looking hotel and although it has a slight feeling of 'former glory' it is well maintained and still very smart. It is in a great position on the famous Lord Street and it had adequate parking...... although you have to pay and extra £6 per day to park which I had overlooked seeing when booking..... but to be fair that maybe my fault and it probably wouldn't have been a 'deal breaker' anyway.

There was not a Bible in the room and when I queeried this with the reception the helpful lady couldn't provide one. The breakfast was quite nice but there toaster and coffee machines were not adequate as there were long queues for both.... which certainly detracted from the experience

My friend & I use this hotel quite often this, is our 4th visit in about 6 months. We both love this hotel it is spotless (well done housekeepers🥰) the location is ideal as it is on Lord St, beds are very comfy, rooms are spacious and very clean, bathrooms are modern, staff we have dealt with have been very helpful & friendly. We recommend this hotel to everyone we speak to. Keep up the good work ❤️

Parking has been an issue previously as it’s also a pay & display car park fir other people so if you go to the hotel when Southport is busy it’s very hard for whoever is staying there to get a parking space

Although the hotel is undergoing extensive refurbishment (which wasn't mentioned on the site we booked with) it didn't make a whole lot of difference to us, we booked an executive double, which was located on the 2nd floor at the back of the hotel, it was huge, and spotlessly clean. The windows had safely latches, but no keys and Although one of the radiators in the room didn't work..it was lovely and warm..it did go cold during the early hours of the morning, but it is March and there are extra warm fleece blankets if you need them. Super comfortable bed and pillows. Only my opinion, but the room did need an ironing board and iron, but I'd packed a travel one just in case and used the vanity table. So no bother. Bathrooms don't have a toilet brush either, which I found odd. Night porters, were lovely and helpful, when I decided at 3am, that I needed food, and directed me across the road so happy days. Only criticism, was the bar tender, young man with dark hair...didn't really seem like he wanted to be there, and spent a lot of time on his phone, not really any interaction with the customers, although there were alot of drunken older people in their 70s living their best lives at 6.30pm...probably all asleep in bed by 9pm hahah had a fabulous stay. Thank you.

Very accommodating to ground floor request and allowed us to check in early when booking car in as our room was ready. The hotel is old and they are currently having external building work completed but rooms are clean and comfortable enough...which is really all you need if you are only there for 1 or 2 nights. This wasnt the first stay there. Its not as good as its former glory years...but then neither am I with age!!

Need bigger towels, and the soap dispensers empty... but had gone prepared! One of the lamps not working....but didn't cause an issue.
