The reception staff were very helpful. The spa was so nice to relax in and the lounge areas throughout the hotel was very nice. Food menu was very good we stayed in for food for most of our stay as there was some good options.

The bar area - service of staff was not that great. I feel it is because the resterante area was getting more service that there was not enough staff to focus on the people who wanted to eat near the bar/ terrace area. For breakfast no one was around to take orders we had to wait on a few occasions and if no one came we had to ask the kitchen staff. Very slow on clearing tables after drinks/ food finished we had to prompt this. And finally missing orders and the reason for this was due to staff being new. Not a proper apology done by staff.

The professional, warm welcome from the receptionist who provided us with all the helpful information we needed regarding the hotel and its facilities including arranging room service for breakfast, the birthday card for my husband on the bed and the overall friendliness of the staff made our short stay wonderful. The Royal double room (especially the fantastic bathroom) was amazing a great way to start the break. My son had an Executive room which was very large and suited him perfectly.

We really missed not having a fridge or drinking water in the room especially with the very hot weather we had. As much as I loved the big soaking tub, even with the non slip mat in the bath and the towel bath mat I still slipped getting out of the bath luckily my husband was in the bedroom so heard me and stopped me falling. The floor tiles need to be looked at.

Our room was lovely and ideal for a couple. It had a lovely nautical theme. Breakfast was very nice, a buffet style which worked well for us and the restaurant was very nice. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The foyer/reception area was stunning and really sets your mood for your stay, we will definitely stay again. We didn't have chance to use the spa as we were busy doing other things but we plan to go back and use it in the future. The hotel overlooks the sea and looks very beautiful, obviously not all the rooms will have a sea view ours didn't but if you simply come out of the hotel and walk across the car park you won't be disappointed. The hotel is situated on a large hill which is about a 10-15min walk down into Torquay itself, coming back up the hill really tested our fitness levels lol but there are plenty of taxis to bring you back up if you needed it. We left our car at the hotel as parking in Torquay seemed quite busy, there isn't alot of parking at the hotel but you can park on the road outside the hotel if needed. Overall a lovely stay and we would definitely recommend.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like, if you wanted to be really picky then the only thing for me was there was no bathroom bin and no toilet roll holder

Clean and friendly considering it had only been reopened 3 days it only had a couple of teething problems. This was a trip for our Anniversary and I had booked a massage for my husband and added afternoon tea and a meal in the evening. Unfortunately my husband was taken ill before we arrived and James the bar manager was great and had the chef just make him boiled egg and toast. Then I had to call an ambulance at midnight and again James was in reception and he got the night porter to listen out for it. He then came to check up on us before he went home. I asked him to cancel the following days massage etc, which he did. When he was back on duty the next afternoon he came up to check how we were. He is a great asset to the Hotel, friendly, chatty and caring about his guests. The reception staff were also very helpful and caring. My only criticism was there were no info packs in the rooms, with menus, emergency numbers etc. Breakfast was quite manic on the first day but better on the second. The actual restaurant for dinner felt a bit impersonal and lots of staff but a bit all over the place. Not asked if we wanted drinks with our meal, until James came in to another table and came up to the table to ask if everything was ok..I think once all training has been complete and the place has been open a couple of weeks this will all sort itself out. We will definitely return when my husband is better for a stay and use the spa facilities.

Rooms need a bit more attention to detail. Very stark. No side lights for reading. No info pack, no telephone in the room.

The staff were lovely and the hotel was so clean.Staff very helpful even before we arrived a phone were I was informed of every thing I needed to know and a lift accessible single room was arranged .when we arrived earlier than planned again staff so helpful. Views are amazing and we had a garden room looking out on to well maintained lawns. Parking is limited but there are roads near by and reception were helpful to hold bags while we went to get car.

The coffee machine at breakfast there is only one for 78 bedrooms the que was long think they could do with another coffee machine.

Location, the staff, comfy bed, great view, nice bedroom, spa and evening meal

We stayed in an executive room and requested a bath but I’ve never seen such a small bath. It wasn’t even a three quarter bath. It had a seat and had just enough room to wet your legs! The breakfast tasted good but was very chaotic. It was a buffet breakfast but there was hardly any fruit and half the breakfast items were missing - bacon, sausages and eggs. When we asked for them they came out in small numbers and as there was a large queue behind us they were constantly asked for apart from the sausages which never came. So it was very pricey for half a bath and chaotic breakfast.

Excellent service and staff, cleanliness was exceptional; the breakfast buffet was really good as it has a wide selection and evrything was cooked to perfection.i especially loved how one of the staff a blonde lady in black, always remembered to bring me a pot of green tea every morning as I have requested on my 1st breakfast in yhe restaurant.

The food in the restaurant can be a bit bland. I would also have loved to see more seafood selection as i was expecting this due to the hotel's coastal location. But apart from this, everything was very well organized.

The twin room we had was outstanding. The view of the sea made it complete. Went there for a getaway after a rocky time in our lives and the view we had took away the trials and tribulations. It was amazing.

Only thing we didn’t like was the £10 charge for use of the spa which we thought as guests staying there, it was included. There wasn’t even an actual pool. It was just a couple of hydro pools that worked when they felt like it. We didn’t feel those facilities in particular were worth £10pp on top of being paying guests that stayed there.

Stunning views and peaceful. The food was amazing! We chose to eat both lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant because it was so good. There was a musician on Saturday evening, and every song he played was just beautiful.

The room was on the lower ground floor, and there was no lift all the way down. We had very heavy suitcases and to carry them up and down the stairs one floor was a bit hard. We booked the room on the same day we arrived and we could only find a twin room. The beds were very comfortable, but the duvets were quite small for an adult.

Very stylish reception and public areas spotlessly clean. Bedroom had super comfy bed, good quality bedding lovely view of the well tended garden. It was peaceful. Friendly helpful staff , I asked for an iron was provided within minutes.. Lovely location with a sea view from the conservatory/ gallery restaurant.. the main restaurant was well appointed and the set evening menu was tasty and great value. . Jacuzzi ( extra charge) was clean and relaxing. A very pleasant 2 night stay.

Bathroom a little dated and no toiletries Very little not to like
