This was an excellent choice for us with easy access to the Camel Trail. Staff were very friendly and informative and great fun. The two evening meals we had there were excellent, meats cooked to perfection, well presented and on very hot plates. Henk was a great host and advised on how we could make best use of future stays and cycle routes.

It would have been nice if the restaurant had been open on the Monday evening and perhaps this could be added to the listing. We had to travel to another pub for our evening meal, an expensive taxi ride. The only negative food wise were the breakfast, the cooked options were very good and varied but it would have been nice to have had cereal and fruit options.

The service was excellent and the staff could not so enough for you. There was some great touches like a bar of local chocolate in the room and good tea and coffee making faculties. Parking was good which is not always the case in Cornwall. The food in the pub was great and very good value we eat there for the 2 nights we stayed and was very pleased with the meals. The bar had a good range of beers ciders and larger.

The bathrooms were tired and need a face lift

Excellent breakfast. Varied menu with lots of choice. Food was good quality and cooked well.

When we booked we didn't realize the restaurant was closed on a Monday, we had traveled along way and were looking forward to eating at the hotel. The place they recommended nearby was fully booked. The bar closed early even though it states it is open til 11. Appreciate it was quiet but we were ushered out at 9:45.

Wonderful breakfast, fantastic staff, classy comfortable bed and room

My only complaint is with booking.com — the booking.com internet site states that the Inn is 3.1 miles from the nearest town — simply NOT true. I need to believe the booking.com info, And this was so inaccurate. Any money we saved with the discounted room price was LOST in the number of taxi fares we paid to simply get anywhere! The hotel staff were so wonderful, THEY drove us to a couple of places, but this was not their job. This hotel is not suitable for anyone without a car. There isn’t even a bus stop nearby, And taxis were reluctant to drive too far out of the nearest town. I am VERY happy with the hotel, NOT so very happy with booking.com

Breakfast was very good, full English or variety of and cooked to order. Tea, coffee, juice, toast and jams etc. Or granola and yogurt. All served by a lovely lady called Tina. The room was set up as a twin which we wanted…. Lovely comfy beds. French doors opening onto a verandah which was nice to have fresh air. Keys given so we could let ourselves in when we wanted. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

The bathroom was a little shabby and could do with updating.

A very nice room, outstanding cooking, a good wine list and the fact that they have an on-site EV charger are reasons enough to recommend Halfway House, but the best thing about it is the staff - every single one of whom was friendly, obliging and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay! As a guest, the atmosphere was a lovely, friendly, relaxed one and you couldn't help feeling that it would be the same for the employees as well. Happy staff = happy guests: wish more businesses understood that!

The room was really lovely and had everything I needed. The staff went above and beyond and were really friendly. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The restaurant was booked up every night which says a lot. I would definitely stay again.

The only thing was the mattress was too soft for me but saying that I slept ok and with mattresses it's hard to please everyone.

Lovely country Inn setback from main road with ample parking,great food and very dog friendly.

The only downside was the room,situated at the back accessed by a small communal terrace,no real privacy unless you draw the curtains,also a green fire escape route light was bright and stayed on all night,also sound proofing not the best.Bathroom large with bath and shower over.

Rooms were comfortable, as was the bed The food was good and staff were very attentive.

The room could do with two chairs not just one. The stool at the desk was useless the legs were lose. The bathroom is a bit tired, could do with a bit of tlc mould marks everywhere in the shower. Although we were informed we could check in from 4:30pm, no one was there when we arrived!

The breakfast was excellent - individually prepared food with generous portions. Evening dining was also very good indeed. Location offered good access to other nearby places of interest. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Nothing significant. The traffic passing in front of the inn was fast and noisy but as our room was at the rear of the property, it wasn't a big issue. The distant view from our balcony, including sunset was excellent although it overlooked the main parking area, limiting privacy.
