We really enjoyed the country house and family feel to this hotel. It was in lovely grounds and had a quaint feel to it. The hotel was clean and our room was very spacious and had everything we needed. Including tea , coffee biscuits, and mini toiletries. The bed was comfortable and spacious, and the room was warm and had a bath and shower, which was a real bonus. The staff were friendly and we had a great breakfast in the morning which consisted of a choice of cereal, pastries, fruit , hot drinks and juices and a freshly cooked full English breakfast. We can't fault our stay it was excellent value for money.

the room with its four poster bed was good but! Hot water almost instant, room was spacious and the whole was warm The evening free buffet on the bar for all to eat was excellent The bar was used by a lot of locals who appeared to appreciate the calm friendly atmosphere.

the mattress on the bed was a little shallow so to sit on the bed, my legs were trapped against the wooden edge of the bed. The car park was a little untidy Breakfast on Saturday morning started at 08-00 but most of the guests were participating at Oulton Park race meeting so an earlier option for the included breakfast would have been appreciated. A glass for bedside water would have been nice. With my early departure there was nowhere to leave my room key.

Good choice of breakfast cereals, a good cooked breakst consisting of Bacon, Sausage egg, Tomato, baked beans and Toast. drinks available, Tea, Coffee and juice available. Breakfast was served at the table. The staff were very friendly and always able to chat with. ample parking , ideal location, A well stocked bar and some meals were available on an evening.

If I were being picky , I would say that the mattress and pillows were worn out and in need of replacement in our room. Like all old properties it was need of some TLC, and in places some refurbishment required.

Quaint old family manor house in rural location. Owners have gone to great lengths in a effort to retain many of the manor house's origional arts & crafts features. Plenty of parking. Staff were very welcoming and the cooked breakfast was delicious.

Yes, the whole place could do with a little money spending on it, and certainly the very nice and helpfull lady who served our breakfast did look like she could have done with some assitance. She quickely and efficiantly served us a very tasty full english breakfast, but I think she was run off her feet a little, as she was both waitress, and chef - as well as recptiionist since people who were wishing to check out were looking for somone to leave their key with!

Stayed 2 nights and never seen any other guests seemed to be the only person there both nights , never seen anyone at breakfast. The breakfast was very nice There were plenty of it A few rugby people dropped the first night for drinks, Quite dated could do with a lick of paint in places ,no lift ,stairs a little steep, but quite a comfortable room ,although I had to be changed to another room ,But despite everything it wasn't all bad coffee tea biscuits in room shower was over the bath . The owner was very friendly and accommodating don't know if I would stay again due to location as I don't drive

Nowhere to pop out too was in the middle of nowhere you do need a car. Bit pricey for soft drinks £2.10 for a very small bottle of coke.

It's a beautiful family run hotel in a lovely location, Dave and Mel the hosts went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to have a great stay, felt like home from home we were so comfortable there, the grounds were very pretty and have a cute outside seating with each table having a heater. The breakfast was 10/10 and will definitely stay again, and thank you so much for making us so welcome, Angie Darren Julie Barry xx

Lovely quiet area, staff were so friendly and welcoming. Beautiful hotel and comfy bed. Free cereal, tea/coffee, orange juice and a free cooked breakfast which was absolutely spot on. Would definitely recommend and will stay here again. Thank you :)

The people in the room next to us were extremely loud and woke us up just before 6am and continued to be noisy for an hour which obviously distrusted our sleep, but it’s not the actual hotel at fault just people being unthoughtful to others staying there.

David was a great host. Lovely welcoming family. Beautiful property good gardens even in this wintery weather. Lovely breakfast. Well looked after, dog friendly. Thku.

The building is beautiful but a little TLC would benefit it. But hey, everything costs and as we all know money doesn't grow on trees.

I have never stayed somewhere like this before, it was a last minute decision with my partner. When I arrived it was like a legion we used to go to as a child the music was old school the owner was just lovely we chatted for a while with some other lads who were local. It was 1 of the best nights iv had in ages I would definitely go here again even if it’s just for a drink. Brilliant

The room smelt of cigarettes as I don’t smoke I personally can’t bare the smell however it just didn’t matter

Lovely spacious bathroom. Very comfy bed. Peaceful location. Free buffet on Friday evening.

Lighting in the room could have been better. A bedside lamp on both sides of the bed definitely needed. I think we are spoiled with staying in places where there is a little more variety at breakfast e.g. fruit and yoghurt, choice in the way eggs are cooked, wholemeal bread.
