The room was really lovely, clean, overlooked the sea and nice and warm which is what you want in the colder months. Lovely balcony to have a cup of tea and look out to sea. Easy location for walks along the beach and we even had fish and chips on the beach. The breakfast is always a highlight of our stay (we've stayed 3 times), as it is plentiful and so nice. I also loved how the lady on reception knew that she had seen us before, even though we only visit once per year in October. It felt personal and we felt welcome.

As we were near the stairs leading to the bar/breakfast area, the staff coming on shift were chatting loudly at the bottom of the stairs at 6:30am, which was a bit of loud awakening.

The staff are a credit to the hotel and when entering, the bar, restaurant and downstairs areas are lovely and clean and modern. The air conditioning in the room was welcomed as they weather was rather warm and the room very hot when we arrived. Breakfast is lovely with good choice and, unlike many hotels, it is not a buffet but served to you which is a nice touch

The communal areas leading to the rooms is very tired - the carpet has seen better days and the paintwork is chipped all over. In the room, whilst fine for us, the view is of the rear of buildings, so not great - advertised a a 'town view' - there was no town to see! the skirting paintwork was also chipped as was some of the furniture. This is not a game changer but at £451 for two night B&B, I felt the decor should have been to a higher standard.

Super comfy huge bed in room 9, delicious food, dog friendly, lots of comfy chairs to sit at in lounge, coffee machine and pods available, lovely friendly staff. Would stay again 100%

We specifically rang 2 days before our arrival to check oysters were on the menu. It was a factor when planning our trip away. When we ordered that evening we were told you had sold out. I think some staff training on the reception desk is needed, if someone actually rings up asking for something the staff member should, if possible, reserve the item for them or explain it isn't guaranteed. You also should have wine bottle prices on your wine list, they are missing

The hotel is in a great location about 15 minute walk from outside the main town so very comfortable hotel

I stay here on a regular basis, but the hotel has made some changes which I don’t really like one is breakfast. We’re now you have to make your own cup of tea or coffee in the morning by a machine which means you sometimes I have to stay in there waiting for others Before they used to bring it to you and added to the experience. Also the car park is very small and now they’re fitted some electric car charging ports which is taken five spaces away and made the car park a lot smaller apart from these two changes the hotel is a great place to stay if you want to visit Whitstable.

The hotel looked impressive from the outside and is in a beautiful location. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast menu had great choice and breakfast staff also really friendly.

We booked a superior room with sea view and whilst the view was truly lovely and the Communal rooms downstairs were beautifully appointed, the bedroom was a little disappointing to be honest and felt a little shabby. Dark drag marks on the wall behind the door, silicone missing from areas in en suite and very old chipped furniture. The secondary glazing meant you couldn't open the en suite window, a blind that didn't reach the windowsill and the lampshades in en suite were taped together with Sellotape. Nothing that would spoil the holiday, but certainly not what we expected from a 'superior room'. The lift was broken and the prices at the bar were expensive. There was not enough hotel parking for guests at rear and were told to go to the pay and display in the local Tesco one day!

Excellent location 15 minute walk into town. Easy to park outside. Great views of the sea. Breakfast was good but make sure you ask for extras like pastries, yoghurt, fruit as they are not offered to you. I remember reading that on a previous review.

The superior rooms have beautiful views out to the sea but it is noisy you can hear people having showers and flushing the chain which I guess as it’s an old building you have to expect. The room was not particularly clean dead flies on the bathroom window. It was a dog room so bit grubby stains on furniture chairs. For £180 a night I feel it should be a better standard.

Superb room. Decor wonderful. Bright and air-conditioned. Nice touch of one or two ornaments and old suitcases on top of wardrobe to add to the ambience of the room. Bathroom modern and large. Lovely! Housekeeping was very helpful and friendly and quick to arrive when needed. Restaurant staff friendly and attentive. Food very good. Nothing was too much trouble to adapting menu to suit for dinner and breakfast. The location was top notch for strolling along the front with marvellous views of the sea and beyond with plenty of benches to sit and contemplate. It was the ideal place to stay if single or even for a business person. I had a back of hotel room which was gloriously quiet! Loved this hotel. I hope I have the chance to stay there again!

I ordered flowers for my arrival which was a beautiful bouquet, some of the bloom only lasted 2 days. So I was a little disappointed over that.

The location is superb, within easy walking distance of Whitstable centre, and the staff are wonderful. I loved being able to park right outside. I also welcomed table service at breakfast, which was also very good, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of tea and coffee, including a Nespresso machine. The sea view and balcony were great!

The room was a little tired, as are the carpets on the stairs and landing, could do with a refresh. You couldn't turn on the standard lamp without turning on the overhead light, which made it feel less than cosy. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work, and the window didn't open, so the bathroom smelt musty. We had a Superior Double room, and for £200.00 per night, I did expect the room to be a bit more special.

The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful at all times during our stay. We were getting married nearby and the excellent staff went the extra mile to ensure we had a great stay, ranging from leaving origami Swan towls on the bed to setting us aside a reserved table at breakfast in the best location in the orangery and all of their own accord. We also had our wedding dinner in the hotels orangery and they set everything up perfectly. Outstanding is all I can say!

The room was a little bit tired with some of the paintwork a little faded & most notably half of the shower screen was missing but these were only very minor issues. On the last day there was a drilling accident which damaged the hot water supply but they refunded us for that day with no quibbling, again very good customer service that is rare to find.

Stayed at the Marine Hotel to attend a dinner meeting at the Whitstable Oyster Company restaurant. The Hotel was super accommodating in allowing us to arrive early and park in their carpark and return later that afternoon to check in. The accommodation itself was lovely a sea view room with a balcony over looking the promenade and beach. The hotel facilities were everything you could need or want, a coffee shop and restaurant alongside a large bar area with seating inside and outside both the front and back of the property. We were able to enjoy a lovely breakfast on our balcony as we watched the Oysterman Triathlon event happening and when we checked out the hotel were happy for us to continue to leave the car in their car park until we were ready to head home.

Nothing really it was a very pleasant place to stay
