The location was a short walk into Bowness and all of the facilities it has to offer. The room was lovely, light and airy and had a fantastic view of the gardens. Tea, coffee and biscuits were available and we were told to let Mark know if they needed topping up. As it was partners birthday, Mark organised a chilled bottle of Prosecco for our arrival and put the banners up which I had sent. Nothing was too much and communication was excellent!

Although we knew upon booking that breakfast wasn’t an option, it was the only thing we could think would be a downside to the property.

Mark and Grace were friendly and very helpful. Convenient location in a quiet peaceful area which made relaxing and reflecting a lot easier than in the hustle and bustle of Liverpool. Very easy to get to the town centre and and pier. Situated near shops and variety of restaurants which made shopping easy. Decent distance to walk to and from the train station. Easy to catch buses from. Would be happy to stay there again if I were ever to pass through that area again.

Couldn't make use of the hot water in the sink due to low water pressure. Other than that, there was nothing of note to complain about.

Great small hotel near Bowness city centre. The room was good size and very clean. When we checked in, all parking spaces were taken (small car park for 5 cars in front of the hotel and 5 spaces behind the hotel), but we were allowed to park at another hotel (extra 1 min walk). Very quiet area - 5 min walk to the centre and 20 min walk to the Windermere. You can also take the bus 599 or 555 to get to the Grasmere and Ambleside.

Cold bathroom floor - make sure you bring flip-flops with you!

We certainly appreciated the room, which was very comfortable, and lodgings being close to Windermere and Bowness and of course the lake. You certainly turned on the weather for us as well with the beautiful snow around the town, and the chilly rain. It was great after being stuck in the heat and humidity of Brisbane in Queensland for the last 10 weeks. Mark, the host, was lovely and the room was spotlessly clean. Good hospitality tray and could and would be replenished if required. Ideal spot in Bowness and had a parking place for the whole time we were there. Bed was too soft for me personally but that is my own personal choice so will not mark it down for that as others would prefer a soft mattress.

The only downside was the shower poor pressure and the shower head kept falling down. Other than that nothing wrong with the property at all and I was still able to shower just proved a little difficult.

The room was quiet, clean. The weather was well into the minus figures making the room a tad cold despite the radiator making its best efforts to warm it. The location is ideal for a short walk to the lake and nearby pubs, restaurants and shops.

With the weather and time of year, the town was quiet and a few of the shops and restaurants were closed, which was a shame.

The room had everything I needed over my four nights stay. Convenient parking. Beautiful, lovingly looked after garden. Perfect location - quiet, yet within a walking distance to a jetty, bus stop, swimming spot near the Marina, lots of places to eat - fast or relaxed meals - lovely little town to walk around and numerous attractions. Also, lots of places of interest only a short drive away.

This is not that I didn’t like, just worth noting, that a property is on a slight hillside, so walking time from a Marina side needs to be adjusted accordingly.

It was charming and well located a little away from the crowd’s. Our host Mark was very welcoming and informative. The rooms were super clean.

Just a side note as the accommodation was super but we were with another couple and it would have been nice to have a common room available to meet up and share a small meal as eating out all the time is expensive. There is one and it was offered by Mark to have it made ready but we felt okay to live with the status quo.

The room was comfortable, and we had a lovely four poster bed, which made us feel a little special. The host was friendly and offered some suggestions for sightseeing and dining.

Our room was comfortable, but there was limited space for hanging clothes, and access from the carpark is a bit awkward if you have heavy suitcases, but it would be difficult to overcome these minor issues in such a lovely old building.

The guest house was easy to find and there was free parking. The room was exceptionally clean and beautifully presented. There was tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room with plenty of milk and a couple of biscuits too. They provided excellent amenities including body wash, shampoo and hand soap. We had a room with a super king size bed which was again exceptionally comfortable and we had an en-suite bath with a shower over. The towels were of a good quality and lovely to use as the bathroom radiator was heated. If I could give a 20 for cleanliness I would as all of the areas in the guest house were spotless. The host was friendly and communicated well.

The only minor negative point would be that the water pressure wasn’t great but it is an old building in otherwise excellent condition.
