Lovely location well away from the city life! Recently modernised too but not to the detriment of the olde worlde bar & lounge effect. The open fire should be lovely in the winter. Good dinner and breakfast. Good sized, modern finish room with a comfy bed and decent lighting Good WiFi (needed as the local mobile service is rubbish!) There's a nice rustic feel to the place - just perfect for getting away from it all really - complete with ample parking

Sink and bath drainage needed fixing - partial blockage. Cistern full flush button leaking Kettle didn't switch off and the lid did not open easily. (suggest all issues should have been noticed by housekeeping??) One floor to ceiling window faces the road/pavement so minor privacy issue meant curtain partially closed whole visit... but notwithstanding the above we'd happily go back as these were minor issues.

The setting (on the edge of a small village) may not suit someone wanting local shops etc., but if you're wanting to stay someone that has a warm and welcoming ambience, great food and drinks selection and has fantastically finished rooms then The Harcourt Arms will be hard to beat. It actually worked out at £30 less for a 1 night stay with breakfast than the sterile Premier Inn I usually end up in when working in the Oxford Area. Callum was a great host and certainly knows his drinks.

Breakfast doesn't start until 8 am, so that does make it a bit of a rush to eat and get away in time to get into work for 9am.

What a find! From the moment we entered the Harcourt Arms everything was perfect. We somehow found an amazing deal on here...not going to mention the price....but it was a steal! We had the suite with a four-poster bed and beautiful copper bathtub. There was also a separate rainfall shower room. Everything was spotlessly clean in the room and the premises generally...housekeeping are doing a great job. Breakfast was included in our rate and was second to none...I had a full English which was delicious and my girlfriend the avocado and poached eggs...both were superb and a great start to the day. The staff were excellent...on arrival we were explained everything very clearly and in a nice friendly manner a d check-out was the same seamless process. We will be back....thank you for a lovely if brief stay. Neil and Vitalija.

The Harcourt Arms is a hidden gem. I have stayed at many hotels and I had low expectations and was worried about booking in a place with a pub. However the Harcourt Arms exceeded my expectations. The room was behind the main building separate with parking right next to my room behind the main building. The room is very spacious, light modern and the decoration is of great taste. The bathroom products are phenomenal, the orange scent of the products made it even more memorable. The WiFi works great, never had any connectivity problems. The restaurant is decoration is impeccable. Great atmosphere to relax with lots of fires ideal for dogs. The breakfast was fantastic, I specially recommend their bircher muesli, it's by far one of the best I tried.

I would've liked carpeted floors.

Lovely restoration of the building coupled with the modern rooms, made for great atmosphere. Bed was large and comfortable. Room spacious. Plenty of free on site parking. Breakfast was good.

Prices for dinner were a bit steep (careful of the pricing on still tap water). It's a bit out of the way so you need a car. Only real complaint was the shower was blocked and flooded the bathroom. When this was mentioned to staff we were told "It's probably all the dog hair! Say what? That said, they came and rectified the problem with some drain cleaner reasonably promptly, so we had to vacate the room for a bit.

Attention to detail in terms of furnishings, rooms clean and spacious, very comfy beds and fluffy towels. Beautiful toiletries that I have only seen before at Le Manoir. The restaurant and bar area was lovely and just beautifully put together in terms of decor, cosy fires, books, games etc. We had dinner there which was fantastic and a shout out to the hispi cabbage!!! At breakfast there was a wide choice on the menu and the food again, was excellent. We had a dog with us and there weer plenty of places to walk right on the doorstep - the dog was very welcome and the rooms are very dog friendly in terms of the wooden flooring.

Excellent breakfast, quality ingredients, hubby said best breakfast he has ever had! Room beautiful, comfortable & again the whole experience was quality. We also had evening meals & thoroughly enjoyed them. Bar area comfortable with books & games to access, you could spend all day there! Staff exceptional, very friendly & helpful. Location good for us for Oxford, Warwick Castle & British Motoring Museum. Pear tree P&R around 15 mins away & recommended for Oxford,

Room hot but fan from staff did the trick, but if weather had not been as mild wouldn’t have been an issue.

Beautiful decor, very welcoming, ambience ,open fires.

The accessible room was beautiful . Very modern, very clean but unfortunately not practical. Mirror very high on the wall, no dressing table so ,as a disabled person unable to stand unaided I had to do my hair & make-up sitting on the end of the bed with a vanity mirror perched on my case. Also, in the beautiful wet room , the only shelf was high up over the toilet. The lamps on bedside table were huge &left little room for anything to be placed there. With a little attention to detail this room would be outstanding.

Beautiful pub and hotel. Beautifully decorated, very comfortable room. Very wide choice at breakfast and lovely sitting in the dining room which had folding doors to let in the fresh air as warm outside. Staff/owner very welcoming. Delicious food on evening menu. Lovely location and within easy reach of Oxford and Park and Ride and Blenheim Palace. Enjoyed looking at St Michaels church in the village itself and also the Standing Stones (short drive to car par area).

Terrestrial Television did not receive signal on last two days and not able to be resolved before I left but I suppose I did not really need a television as out all day but as by myself it is always nice to have it there as background noise or to watch a film at night.

Location 20 minutes from Oxford Peartree Park and Ride and Witney. Handy for exploring villages and close to main roads. Staff friendly, polite and helpful. Breakfast cooked to order each day. Ate in the bar one night and food was good. Ample parking, even on Friday & Saturday night. Room was comfortable and spacious. Compared to other places in the area this is excellent value for money. If you have time, check out St James the Great church and its stunning medieval 'doom painting' in South Leigh about 15 minutes drive away.
