Convenient. Good value. Great staff. Good communication.

The weather was very cold and snowy and I was trying to work during the day but there was no heating in the room during the day. I ended up having to go into town to find somewhere warm to work.

great location only a ten minute walk into the centre, easy to find and access. close to bus services and 15/20 minutes walk from the train station. Melissa the host was wonderful and very knowledgeable about local attractions and places to see and eat. Rooms were comfortable and extras provided like tea/coffee, soap and shower gel and a hairdryer.

our room was a bit cold, we did visit at the end of September and the weather wasn't great but the rooms are high ceilings and can get cold at night, we found the extra blankets that helped though.

The flexibility, friendliness and support of Melissa (the owner). She gone extra mile to put something right which is not her fault.

It is just unfortunate that I had a rowdy guest occupying the room above me who've done nothing but to walk most of the night which disburbed my sleep. However, this is of no fault by the owner and Melissa profusely apologised for the inconvenienced caused by the guest to myself and had compensated me for the inconvenience for offering me a free parking permit for the whole day, even though there was no need for her to do it.

We loved our stay at the Beckett, Melissa was lovely...friendly, informative and accommodating. The Beckett is situated in a quiet residential area about 5 - 10 mins walk away from York Minster and all that York has to offer. We were able to park right outside on the street and Melissa organised our permit for the duration of our stay and since everything was within walking distance we didn't use it once. The room we had was clean and comfortable and although the ensuite was a little snug it did the job šŸ˜ the shower reached temperature quickly..a matter of seconds and was easy to adjust ( unlike sum we've done battle with) the pressure was good too. Being a cold person I always travel with my hot water bottle but I didn't need it once, a novelty for me, the room was kept snug and warm... Thank you x

There was nothing we didn't like as such but it would have been nice to have breakfast at the property but since we like a full English when we are away we choose to walk into York...not far only 20mins to where we chose to eat and the exercise made us feel a little less bad about over eating all weekend šŸ™„šŸ˜

The Beckett Guest House was exactly what I needed! A beautiful place run by a warm and welcoming host for the first stop on my first solo adventure. Melissa was kind and informative, the place was in a great location, easy to navigate to the centre and felt safe walking back at night and added security being behind coded door. Water pressure was good in the shower and the room was clean and tidy.

Nothing really, the bathroom was small but I was not expecting anything different.

I like old townhouses with high ceilings and big windows. It was in a great location. about 10 mins from most places of interest and 15 mins from train station using quiet route. The road itā€™s in was very quiet so no traffic noise at night at all.

Nothing really. Just water pressure in shower was quite low but then I was a couple of floors up.

It's a beautiful little building and the rooms are delightful. The en suite bathrooms have everything you might need. The host was very accommodating, helpful and kind.

The TV is comically small. It is more for soundscape rather than watching. The house is an old Victorian house, the walls are nearly paper thin. Which is not necessarily an issue, however, my next-door neighbours came home one night and broke out into a loud fight which was not pleasant to listen to. This is in no way the guesthouse's fault, but I would like to advise any future visitors to respect the fellow guests.

Lovely central location to explore all the wonders of York. Proprietors were very nice and gave us great local information about what was on. Clean facilities and let us check in early which was nice of them, I got the time wrong. My daughter was unwell during the night and they were very understandable.

I couldnā€™t get the radiator to work and it got a little bit chilly later on when we got back. The decor was a bit dated but thatā€™s ok really. Bathroom was very small. If you are just wanting something to sleep in after wandering around York though, thereā€™s nothing really wrong with the place.

I booked a room for one night. I think this questionnaire is a little over the top. Also I have no idea what the face symbol on the right hand column even means. I had a comfortable stay with a friendly host. The hospitality tray was very helpful.

I would have liked the host to call me back following two phone messages I left on the answer phone around 1 pm. I would have liked the host to give me the internet code as I forgot to ask.

Excellent location for York attractions. Close to public transport, both trains and buses. Melissa, the landlady was very helpful, friendly and easy to contact. Very comfortable bed. Lovely shower. Extremely good value for money. I like it here so much, I'll be back again!

The sound quality of the tv wasn't good but that didn't bother me as I didn't really watch it. I reported it to Melissa and she said she'd look into it.
