The location of the property was excellent, the owners were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were exceptional

The room was a little too high tech, everything was done via an app even the heating and ordering breakfast. It made it a little impersonal. We are good at using apps and found the system straightforward but we know a lot of people of our age would have found this all too hard. I am mentioning this as constructive criticism only.

Very comfortable room decorated with an Asian theme. Tea & Coffee making available in the room but can also use the coffee machine in the breakfast room all day if preferred. Really nice breakfast, cooked to order. Would certainly visit again on future visits to York

Nothing. The only thing to note is that our room was on the 2nd floor so if you struggle with stairs suggest informing the owners at booking because ground floor rooms are available

What a fantastic hotel! We stay in York at least twice a year. Never come across this hotel and booked last minute and my goodness what a find! Everything was exceptional. The level of detail throughout the room was fantastic. Spotlessly clean Staff so lovely Breakfast absolutely fantastic. We've already agreed we are coming back so we can experience the other themed rooms so glad we found you guys!

Everything was absolutely amazing. Only slight critic and it's more to help the owner and staff is our room could do with a shower curtain cause we kinda chucked water everywhere in the shower. But even that wasn't a issue we still loved everything!

The theme of the rooms was very fun. The complimentary beverages in the mini fridge were much appreciated. The bay windows and automatic blinds in our room were fantastic. I enjoyed having a nice soak in the lovely red tub in the bathroom, and the entire room was very clean and well kept. Having the hotel app so we could place our breakfast orders ahead of time and schedule what time we wanted to go down to eat was novel and helpful. They offered a laundry service for £10 and folded it all and placed it neatly in our room. There is also a bus stop 30 seconds from the property which takes you straight into York city centre.

The parking situation is very tight, however the fact that complimentary parking and a private lot exists at all far outweighs it.

Easy to find, exceptional accommodation. So comfortable and immaculate throughout. We stayed in room 7, the oriental room on the 2nd floor and it was lovely. We faced the road, so it can be noisy during the day, but with the windows closed the room was silent. If warm, there is aircon. Lots of personal touches makes the Tower Guest House a fabulous option. Breakfast is ordered via the guest house app and was tasty and fresh. Eggs Diana was a particular fav. Enjoy this is the sunny breakfast room. On site parking is available for all rooms.

15/20 minute walk onto town.

We stayed at The Tower for a couple of nights in the middle of May. Excellent location on the city outskirts which meant no trouble finding, parking and avoiding any congestion. a 15/20 minute walk in although we also used the very handy #6 bus service. We stayed in Room 1 which was superbly appointed. Comfortable bed, quite, clean and very handy for using the coffee machine in the breakfast room. Breakfast was excellent - ordered via the hotel app which also usefully controlled heating and air con. Would certainly recommend and will definitely return. We've stayed in several place sin York over the years and this has been the best!

No complaints whatsoever.

On arrival we were greeted by hostess Diana, a beautiful, warm and friendly lady with great knowledge of York. Our room was quirky and comfortable with complimentary soft drinks ,tea and coffee. Everything was provided we could possibly have needed for our stay. We had a restful nights sleep. In the morning we went for breakfast and were greeted by Tony who tentatively waited our table,he addressed us by name which added to the personal touch. We will definitely be returning in the near future and look forward to seeing Diana and Tony again.

Exceptional rooms that have been designed to go above and beyond to give you the best experience. The host was wonderful and welcoming, and coming back after a long day out to a clean room was a pleasant surprise. They really did think of everything you might have needed. I was amazed by the amenities. I have never stayed somewhere so well thought out for the customer experience. The breakfast you can order how you like things on an app and the host brings it over for you it was incredible.

Loved everything will 100% return only thing I would improve is the blow-drys in the rooms not powerful for long thick hair but I wouldn't mark them down for that.

Lovely big room. Plenty of storage. Would love to stay again but in a different room with a shower cubicle. Diane and her hubby are amazing, and breakfast was lovely. Finishing touches to the room are very good, small fridge with fresh milk, kit kat, water and a couple of cans of drink as well, black out blind for side window. It was a four-poster bed we had never slept in one before lovely. Help yourself to hot drinks downstairs as well. She also makes cakes, but we didn't get to try any as we were out both days all day. A good walk into the town. We went with friends. And yes, we would love to stay there again. Please.x Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Hadn't realised the bath is part sunken into the floor so I wouldn't recommend it if you have arthritis and knee problems. We stayed in Room 5, which has 2 steps up to the bathroom and toilet leve, all in the same room. Floor is very slippery when wet from the shower, which is over the sunken bath, so make sure you use the bath mat. It's too small for two people unless you're a size 8 hahaha 😆 and very fit. But that's our problem. It hasn't put us off though, we will stay again, we will just choose a different room.

The room was well presented and had air conditioning and electric blinds for shade and total blackout. The room was extremely clean. The full English breakfast was ample and eggs cooked to order. Breakfast room service and messages could be confirmed via app which was convenient. The location was within walking distance to the centre of York and buses were regular outside the accommodation if transport was required. The hosts were super friendly and helpful we would definitely stay there again.

There was nothing we didn't like.
