Lovely room, lovely shower bathroom, comfortable bed. Amazing location in old town, so able to get out and about before all the day tourists hit the town. Lovely to be able to get a discount at the restaurant at their sister establishment Charco

They kept calling me instead of communicating through messaging even though I had asked them because with me not speaking Spanish and them not speaking much English it was difficult to talk via phone. Second, although I was clear at booking that I was allergic to gluten I found the first day they had only partially defrosted the very sweet pastries, and there was nowhere to toast the gluten free bread without cross-contamination at breakfast.

The place and the house are astonishing. Everything was spotless clean and the shower is amazing: great pressure, toiletries and temperature. The shared living room in this old colonial house and the inner patio are great. The breakfast was about fine but not great.

The bed. It was really disappointing for the price we paid, we expected a good sleep quality and did not get that. It bows down in the middle and the mattress is too soft. If one person lays in the middle, it drags the other down. The room is beautiful but the only ventilation is the room's door, so it's a bit humid and you can smell that.

Staying at the Posada was like time traveling because the building is centuries old. Old but well maintained and very charming. location is excellent close to the main attractions and points of interest in the city. tidy and cosy. towels and lining were perfect. bathroom was awesome. the staff was helpful and friendly.

the only thing I would upgrade in the Posada is the breakfast. should be offered more options. In comparison with other places I stayed on this trip to Uruguay I missed simple things like scrambled eggs and dulce de leche for example

Well positioned hotel with a small number of rooms arranged around a courtyard. Lovely room with a huge bed and great shower. Breakfast was lovely (although it was a bit slow for items to be replenished). Close to restaurants and shops and we took the recommendation to book dinner at the sister restaurant, Charco, which did not disappoint. We were only in Colonia for one night but hope to return and would definitely book to stay here again.

Breakfast could have been topped up quicker.

This is a gem of a place - a boutique hotel, beautifully decorated with great attention to detail. Our suite was spacious with quality furniture and fitting. The beds comfortable with crisp linen and very clean. A large en-suite with high quality toiletries. Simply wonderful for a stay in the old town

Some coffee/tea without extra charge. I applaud the inclusion of a coffee machine, but £3 a pod is excessive.

Right in the centre of things. We walked from the ferry and around the town easily except for the uneven streets. A wheeled suitcase is not the best idea here.

We had a deluxe garden view room but our view was the street. People were walking by so we couldn’t open the window. The garden was where we entered the suite. Our booking said there would be wine included but the only wine we found was in the minibar at a cost. There was no good place outside to sit

The room was extremely beautiful (also, all the hotel building). The bed was giant and very comfortable, and so was the bathroom. The weather was cold during my stay, but the ac had a heat mode, which was also good. The hotel also provided umbrellas, as the day was rainy. The location is excellent, next to many points of interest in the old town, and there are restaurants, cafes and stores at walking distance. Great architecture, location, comfort and staff - loved it.

I love colonial properties so already biased. We walked up from the ferry and found the property easily. Very comfortable and well designed, a great blend of modern and old.

Not something I did not like but if you walk from the bus or ferry you will need to wheel your luggage over the cobbles

The location is top noche and the room super comfortable and quiet (river facing at the back of the property). Staff very friendly. The bicycles are a great way to explore and were easily available for us

Hook up to English walking tour (though noting the town information centre could not easily provide either). Would also be very interesting to have a history on the building available to read up on

Very nice and peaceful place, incredible clean, beautifully decorated. Friendly and helpful staff, the location couldn't be better. Right next to Plaza Mayor, and also not far away from the port, or restaurants. Definitely recommended.

Everything was tasty, but the breakfast could do with some more options.
