We had a room next to the general store and faced the highway, but it wasn't noisy at all and the highway is nearly without traffic at night. Our room was very clean and well stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner and handsoap. We had one queen bed and one double bed in a small attached room. The beds were very comfortable. It got a little chilly at night, but the two baseboard heaters worked great! Having a general store and restaurant on site was very convenient. The store had an espresso bar and served Lappert's ice cream. It also had a nice selection of groceries, sundries, and souvenirs. I enjoyed coffee and a tasty muffin on the front patio each morning. The restaurant food was pretty good with the usual fare (burgers, sandwiches, pizza, tacos, salad, etc.). The back patio was a nice place to dine, with hanging and torch lights, as well as sitting areas with fire pits. All the staff we came in contact with from the cashier at general store, restaurant staff, and cleaning staff were very pleasant. I will definitely be returning to Fernwood and telling my friends about this charming place!

amazing rustic atmosphere in the midst of the redwoods of the Big Sur. The air smelled of lavender and sandalwood. The bed was very comfortable and the staff was amazing.

The Wi-Fi was very poor and disappointing. There was no TV in the room but that was expected-however, I was expecting the Wi-Fi to be better. A brochure of hiking trails would have been helpful. I followed a trail in the back into the state park and there were several branches down over the path. It was hard to tell the path from the woods in some parts I ended up having to turn around and go back because I didn’t have a proper map of the trail.

Room was super clean, staff was friendly and the general store had everything you could imagine (at reasonable prices). Big Sur is a magical place and Fernwood Resort is a good place to stay at. You are close to everything.

Not having WiFi or a TV didn't bother us, but a clock radio would be a nice touch.

Room was just as described and bed was very comfortable. It was small room, a queen bed and two night stands and a chair. It was very clean. We ate the restaurant on site. It was really good and dining outside on the patio deck was great. There is a small convenience store on the property. The campsite and RV area is on the back end on the river. The state park is 3 minutes south.

Parking and rooms are just off the main road. There is no assigned parking. The restaurant It had limited hours due to staffing, just dinner. If you are looking for wifi (why would you with such beautiful surroundings) you must site outside the office and convenience store.

The location was amazing and the nearby shop/restaurant and camping ground came in handy. Such a nice experience to get to hike into the woods right from the backyard.

I did not think a motel room this size without a fridge or anything else exceptional is worth $200/night. That is outrageous for a room this size. The wifi did not work in the rooms, which I guess is part of the experience of staying in the great outdoors, but could've been mentioned somewhere.

Customer service was awesome. Every time I walked into the gift shop restaurant everyone knew my name which was incredible. The room was clean, spacious the views out the windows, the balcony close to the river landscaping excellent overall a great experience. I will definitely be back perhaps to camp next time.

For the price I wish I had been a microwave

Super cute cabin style. Super comfy beds, lovely spacious bathroom and really clean. Creek behind property with campfire pits. Gorgeous location. On-site shop very reasonably priced and has everything you might need.

Accidentally booked a room that didn’t have a hot tub, if this is something you are looking for be sure to check before booking. This was our own mistake.

The room was very comfortable. We really enjoyed the fireplace and the hot tub. The food and drinks at the restaurant were awesome. There is a shop with anything you would need. The camp space also looked amazing, just next to the river and covered by the trees.

The hot tub was full of leaves, brunches and other things from the trees above when we arrived, which made us a bit hesitant at first to use it. It took us a bit of time to clean it. I think that the tub was actually clean but it would be good if it also had a cover/net to keep the leaves/ brunches out. The price was a bit high but that's normal for the area.

It was very clean, the staff was friendly and I enjoyed that the two beds were separated by a door. The restaurants food was not bad at all. I enjoyed my drink as well. considering where it was we enjoyed it very much.

It was to be expected as it was a Motel, but the walls were thin we could hear everything happening in the next room and outside. although our neighbors did not make noise late at night. So it was not a problem.

Located in the heart of big sur. The cabins are clean and confortable. Was worried that would be noisy given that the lodge is by the road but was super quiet. They have a cafe and market super well stocked on site. So wonderful really. :)

It says it has wifi. The wifi didnt work and mobile doesn't work either . So make sure you're ready to be offline while in the area.
