The hotel designed to look like a historic western town was fun and seemingly accurate. The room was very clean and had a great view (2nd floor looking out to the desert). The pool and jacuzzi were clean and very enjoyable. The location near town and adjacent to the state park was great.

The hotel had been open only a week for the beginning of the season and subsequently there was still some maintenance issues being corrected (lights for the picnic/bar-be-cue area). The air conditioner in the room while very effective was loud when trying to sleep. Being on the corner of two major roads created some disturbing highway noise but wasn't much traffic so it was tolerable.

The location and atmosphere was the highlight of the hotel. It was easy to find, and hard to miss with the design of the buildings. The staff was noticeably prompt, attentive, and polite. The property was always clean. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. All the amenities available were to our liking. I even appreciated the two locations of the pool and jacuzzis, so that it was less crowded. I also liked the fact that there was a decent restaurant on the premises as well.

Not much. I just wish our room had a little more lighting as nighttime was a bit dark. Also, I wish the Big Horn restaurant also served breakfast, or at least the hotel would provide breakfast options.

I stay at this hotel whenever I'm in Borrego Springs. It is quiet and well maintained. Everything in the room worked. The staff is always pleasant. It's convenient, but far enough away from the Christmas Circle (about 2 miles) to be away from the noise & crowds. Yet, it's near the wild flower areas. Dog friendly. Though I've always stayed in a room, there are vintage Airstreams for rent.

One small trash can for the whole room. The swing on the A/C is too wide (but typical for hotels). Some of the electric outlets are getting a bit worn. Pet fee is a bit high if staying for more than a day or two. Very limited menu at the on-site burger joint - which is really just a counter.

I loved the old western town facade on all the rooms and the western saloon at the Palm Canyon Hotel, even the walkways were large planks like they used back then. Our double queen room was HUGE and had a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The pool was warm and the jacuzzi was hot. They paid attention to small details there, even the landscape gravel was raked smooth throughout the day. I liked how the lights outside each of the rooms had a beautiful orange glow which allowed you to stargaze.

A few of the planks and sidewalk areas needed to be repaired but it looked like they were in the process since cones were up to warn guests.

The location is great - close to the Visitor Center and Borrego Springs downtown. The staff is very nice and friendly. We went to their restaurant and they were so accommodating in making soda floats for my kids off menu. They have a burger/snack restaurant in the lobby and a bar - both of these areas have attached outdoor seating. The lobby has a good little store with beverages/snacks, clothes, souvenirs, and items for RV users. The whole facility looks and feels very clean, indoors and outside. Yes, a few areas look a little aged, but if the place is clean, I don’t mind. The Old West theme is cute and gives it more of a family friendly feel. Their pools are heated, so the kids had a blast playing in the pool after our long hike that day, while I enjoyed stargazing. There is convenient parking right in front of rooms. Although I didn’t take advantage of the facilities, they have a decent gym and laundry room.

Both the front and the balcony doors in our room kept getting stuck, so they were hard to open most of the time, but this was a very minor nuisance.

Great location, very close to the Anza-Borrego State Park Information Center, and conveniently close to town. Fun "western movie" vibe. Pool looked very attractive, but we forgot our swimsuits. The room was HUGE!

Restaurant staff members were very sweet, and the patio very inviting, but the food choices were very limited. Burgers were ok, but the main (only?) advantage was proximity and not having to drive to town. We went elsewhere for breakfast.

Great options

The airstream needs a broom so one can sweep the floor if needed after addy or Two. Also, there’s a QR. Code in the facility which makes you think you can order room service. That was Not the case. So my good sat there & got cold. Nobody told me it was ready or needed to be picked up. The staff was amazing tho & remade & delivered my food for a “one time” acception. I just think some come communication would’ve gone a long way, but they made it right!!

Very close to Anza-Borrego State Park and amenities in town (just be aware restaurants and stores shut down around 7PM). Easy check-in/out. Parking spaces right next to the stairs. The hotel had a cute western theme. Spacious room. I found empty coffee packages in my room and when I informed the staff, they were very quick to bring me new packages of coffee.

Because of the wooden slat decks on the upper floor and close proximity of the rooms, you could hear your neighbors walking around and could hear them closing the doors, could hear children running around, etc. Thin walls. I noticed a couple of the wooden slats were loose. That was it really, just some occasional noise. Bring earplugs if you are noise-sensitive.

Location and the uniqueness of the resort buildings. Well kept exterior grounds. Large room. Really fluffy towels.

The door lock system didn't seem to work well and the door needed to be shoved to open - found out after a another guest help us. So many little screaming kids in the pool almost was unbearable and biking past room on board walk, one hit me. I would have checked out except it was paid for and a hassle. I wish I had a room far, far away from the pool. No mountain views, at least on the first floor. As much as l liked it as above, I would not book again. Check in staff said they would call when the room was ready but never did.

The property is so charming. The rooms are clean, pretty large and well equipped. We arrived just as a storm knocked out the power. The entire staff pulled together to manage the situation with smiles! It was amazing. They have live music, a restaurant, burger/fries counter. Rustic. A great vibe. The main attraction is always star gazing.

I don't have any dislikes. It's a true Borrego Springs experience.
