The location was awesome

When I booked at the pictures showed that there was a balcony on the beach, but it was a shared balcony, and our room was on the front which I wasn’t aware of. I was also a little nervous because the bathroom window didn’t seem to lock and I was just there with my young daughter, but all was well and the place ended up being safe and I look forward to staying there again.

I liked the location, right on PCH and right on the ocean.

I couldn’t get the heater to really heat the place up to my liking, but I’m a warm blooded kinda person I guess.

it’s proximity to the beach

the photos made it look like it was an ocean front apartment, it’s not. The apartment building is oceanfront with access to the beach, but units a & b do not have views and all u hear is PCH.

This unit is right on the water…at high tide the water goes under the building, which is wild and wonderful! The views are insane, and you could easily spend your whole day just looking out to the ocean. The environment around us was mellow and nice. The layout is good in the unit too, and the proximity to the pier is great.

There was construction noise above us early in the AM coupled with a high pitch humming sound (which I realize is probably not under the control of the owner of our unit). Also, my mother uses a walker and had a little bit of an issue entering the bathroom due to the small space between the bed and the door to the bathroom, but we managed to make it work. It also would have been great to have a large side chair to sit in, but that is really about it.

First of all, this apartment, while modestly sized, captures a bit of that feeling of rareified luxury that one associates with Malibu. The location is superb, right on Pacific Coast Highway with a secure, gating parking lot for your vehicle. You have to go through another secure gate from the parking lot to reach the apartment. Once you are inside that second gate, the first thing you notice is that from the nicely elevated deck you have unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and Malibu coastline. My hobby is landscape photography, and from this deck I was able to set up my tripod and photographic magnificent seascapes at any time of day. Because of how the apartment is situated, you can see both the sunrise and sunset from here perfectly. You can hear the ocean clearly from inside the apartment and the waves can get a bit loud at high tide, but most of the time, the sound of the ocean is soothing. Therapeutic. Rejuvenating. Amenities are very good. I appreciated the full-sized fridge with plenty of room for food and drink from the nearby Whole Foods - which has sushi that is well above average if you're not keen to splurge on Nobu, which is a stone's throw from the apartment. It gets cool at night here, but there are several space heaters and a heating function in living room air-conditioning unit so you won't be cold. I stayed in late January and was comfortable inside at all times of day. One thing I did notice was that there did not appear to be an A/C unit in the bedroom, though there is a large ceiling fan that is powerful. The bathroom is small but clean and everything works properly. It's less than a five-minute walk to Malibu Pier, which has some decent dining options, and you can also walk to Malibu Country Mart in about 20 minutes. Plenty of shopping and restaurant options there. Overall, a stellar experience and I would definitely stay here again.

Wouldn't say "dislike," but be careful at high tide. The waves can be so strong that when they hit the rocks below, the force is such that you get splashed on the part of the deck closest to the sea.

very nice hideaway

gate to pch was stuck open for 3 days, but still seemed safe. unexpected housekeeper let herself in while i was in the shower. I did not expect anyone to come in and was startled. Maybe a sign to hang on doorknob to not disturb? At least tell your guests this could happen and when to expect her. Previous stays I saw no cleaning ppl.

Comfortable apartment in a small building situated directly on the Pacific Ocean just south of Malibu Pier. We found the apartment roomy, quiet (except for the pounding ocean surf that I found relaxing), and conveniently located to the LA County coastal sights we visited. We enjoyed watching the Pacific waves on the large deck that was well furnished with tables and chairs. The apartment also contained ample kitchen appliances and dishes for our limited cooking needs.

No flexibility regarding check in time.

A nice little hideaway, tasteful sparse décor, fun and functional for few days of remote work and play. Parking included, beach access, walked for miles in both directions. Will likely stay again --- great!

Front door is maybe weather beaten and doesn't always close on first try. Parking spot could use some hedge trimming on the left, it's a little overgrown and awkward for driver exit.

Exactly as advertised, like something out of a movie or a dream. Felt transported and fully revived and restored by the location.

Hard to think of anything other than positives but the TV in the bedroom was a bit glitchy and the remote didn’t work for it. And if the sound of pounding waves all night isn’t appealing, this isn’t the stay for you.

AMAZING! - On the beach, on the beach! - Like a film, loved it, best part of my trip, room was open plan, clean, large, with the best view EVER, beach was clean and the waves, wow! Wish I'd stayed an extra night!

When booking it booked me into a garden room although I chose sea room. I called and double checked and it was changed over, but spoke to someone else whilst there and the same thing had happened to them, so just double check details. Bath/Spa didn't work.
