Great location, very clean rooms, basic but convenient cold breakfast offerings -- a great deal!

There are some unusual noises outside. Some sort of regularly intermittent very loud, electronic buzzing from the next-door property. The seagulls are also... um, effusive. (AWK! AWK! AWK! AWK!) Bring earplugs and you're golden! Still a lovely stay -- and we'd stay there again!

The location and price were excellent. The breakfast was fine, nothing fancy but good enough to start the day. The manager was very nice. Coffee and tea with honey were available the entire day at the registration office. Quiet and clean room with frig and microwave. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Monterey.

It would have been nice to have simple pastries for breakfast. The toasted bagels and cream cheese made up for it.

I really liked everything about this hotel, it was comfortable, roomy, very clean. The front desk agent, I believe her name was Victoria, greeted us with a smile, great attitude, very welcoming and even showed us some places on the map that are popular to visit. The breakfast area was, roomy and had plenty of options for my husband and I as well as our 2 children. I really liked that the aquarium was very easy to get to from the hotel which was the main reason for our visit. I would definitely come back to this hotel for future trips😊

Forgot iphone plug for the charger but the front desk had one to borrow and then reminded me to return it as I was checking out. I lost my driver’s license but the gentlemen at the front desk( can’t remember his name) let me check in with my credit card and my National Parks senior pass. He was also thoughtful enough to direct me to the DMV office in Seaside to get a replacement.

the location was perfect. just a short walk to old downtown Monterey and about 1.5 miles from Cannery Row. it was nice to get up every morning and walk to the downtown area where there are many restaurants to have breakfast. and same for dinner. after exploring all day we just wanted something close that we could go grab for dinner so this was perfect.

the breakfast is continental so just cereal, oatmeal, fruit, bagels, yogurt.

Very nice place tu stay for 1 night. We are a family of 4 with 2 school aged children, traveling through California, and passed by Monterey for the aquarium. This inn was perfect for us. Close car drive tu the aquarium, friendly staff. Simple but good enough breakfast for 1 day. Beds very comfortable, and good size to sleep 2 people. Room large enough for the 4 of us and all our luggage. Recommended!

nothing, really!

Friendly staff, decent continental breakfast with eggo waffles, bread, toast, spreads, yogurts, cereal, boiled eggs, juice. Bed was very comfortable, room was a good size and clean.

Shower is warm enough, but not hot hot, if you are after a really hot shower.

We had a covered parking space that made unloading and reloading the car very comfortable because it was raining. The staff was extremely pleasant and comfortable. They made us feel truly welcome and wanted. Ann & Christine were at the front desk and treated us as friends. They offered information about places of interest and what was nearby. The room had a fireplace and was very clean and spacious. The Colton Inn reminded us of similar inns we enjoyed in Europe.

Our stay was too short!

The main thing is that the personnel and management were so giving. I was in another town preparing to go to Monterey when I received a call saying there was a death in the family. I had called to see if I could cancel without a penalty. While I waited for a call back my daughter called to say I should go to Monterey as planned the main family was handling the funeral arrangements wasn’t until June 29th nothing else to do and they were doing ok. I continued my trip being told if I needed to cancel there would be no penalty. I thanked them so much for their thoughtfulness. When I arrived I thanked them again

Nice architecture, greenery outside (rooms from the back), location close to the city center, terrace for breakfast

Not the newest hotel but still doing his job. Somebody did something wrong here in the past because you can find a lot of info how the guests should behave. ;(
