A really old fashioned and charming hotel. Good off road parking and very pleasant and welcoming staff. Lovely dining room offering breakfast with sea views. Nice well kept garden area and lovely old fashioned walnut room which was dated but comfortable.

No TV in the room which is a bit odd, but again perhaps part of the charm. Long list of fines for various potential infractions which felt a bit severe to read through.

the location was perfect for us. The walking/jogging/ biking path along the water was just across the street. The water views from the breakfast rooms were wonderful. the breakfasts were varied and delicious-served on silver trays. The staff was friendly and accommodating.

we stayed in the Carriage Room which was charmingly decorated in authentic Victorian furniture and wallpaper. I think it was designed to accommodate the somewhat handicapped guest but had no views. The small windows opened into the outside corridor (which was secure) and had no view that one would want to see.

This B&B serves a full breakfast each morning. Many B&Bs have only Continental breakfasts so that was a nice surprise. It was very quiet and peaceful. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The whole area is very walkable so I got some good exercise. The views of the ocean were beautiful — I loved the special sitting room that faced the ocean, which I used several times throughout my stay.

There was no heat in the bathroom where the tub was.

I loved the antique charm of the rooms and decor. Perhaps for some it would be considered outdated but I think it gave it character. The views from the dining room overlooking the bay were so beautiful. The breakfast every morning was really nicely done and a great way to kick off a day of exploring. I would say it was one of the best selling points of the stay. The wine/appetizer tray in the evenings was also a really nice touch! I would stay here again and recommend it to people looking to stay in the area.

There was construction going on on the roof the day I arrived, and it sounded like they were walking around and hammering things right above my head. They were there the next couple days too and I’m glad that I spent most of the day outside of the Inn because it would have been intolerable otherwise. I guess there’s no good time to do construction on a hotel, but it was a bit of a surprise to come into regardless. I’d also recommend updating the pillows in the rooms, they are very small/lumpy and flattened easily.

Perfectly located close to Monterey and PG downtown, steps from the ocean to go for a long walk or enjoy other activities, amazing views from the dining area and some rooms. The staff go out of their way to make the stay and breakfast great. i loved the touch of serving breakfast on a silver tray and the breakfast servers are so lovely. It was a treat to watch the whales from the dining room during breakfasts. Jeremy helped us relocate to another room when we experienced plumbing/toilet issues. It’s an old, historic building, so don’t expect modern amenities….that’s the charm of staying here I think.

People need to be mobile and physically able to use the stairs, which wasn’t a problem for us, but a consideration for carrying luggage from the vehicle to the inn and the room could be located upstairs too.

Martine Inn was built in the 1800's. It has a lot of age appropriate furnishings. It is located across the street from the ocean. The staff is great, the breakfast is awesome. We are already planning out next stay.

The first room we had, the courtyard lights came through and even at night our room was lit up making it hard to sleep. We like a totally blacked out room. We talked to the staff and they cheerfully moved us to a different room.

Location and breakfast were great. The place, garden and furniture were beautiful. The dining room had a ocean view. Fruit herb infused ice water freely available for guests was fantastic and helpful, especially warm days. Staffs were nice and the bathroom was decent.

afternoon snack could be a little better. room wifi was weak. we could hear guests in the other room were talking in late night and heard their toilet run, including traffic noise. If you are a light sleeper, you may struggle some.

Loved the view and staff. Close to Cannery Row, Carmel and our favorite restaurants. Loved walking the path by the beach. Breakfast was great.

Too much clutter in the room we had and too many stairs from where you park the car to the Inn.

Very beautiful place! Wonderful location with a great view! Very friendly helpful staff. Will definitely stay again if given the opportunity!

For some reason I was emailed a new door code on our 2nd night. I figured it changed often si I got rid of the 1st code we was given. Come to find out the 2nd code was no good and we was locked out. Thankfully it was early and someone was around to let us in.

Beautiful location. Interesting house with many original features - and an antique car collection! Nice common spaces. Garden was nice (though too cold during our stay to enjoy it.) Lovely wine and hors-d’oeuvres. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Off-street parking was available.

Bed was a bit soft for our tastes.
