Great location right near the Asilomar conference grounds; the hot tubs are great (and I appreciate that there are two different ones so you don't have to worry about crowding); the room was quiet with a comfortable bed; there was a good selection for the continental breakfast; and it was really nice to have a fireplace in the room. This was a perfect place to stay for my work trip, and I would happily come back in the future!

The carpet in my room was a little worn in places (but that's a very minor quibble in what's otherwise a fantastic hotel)

Pretty much everything. I really appreciated the quiet spacious room with less stairs and bottom floor as requested. I loved the doggie potty area nearby especially at 5am. The bed was very comfortable. The charging station on the night tablewas so great I bought one of my own for travel. I thought the breakfast (and the lady who attended to it) were great (delicious coffee, my favorite Raisin Bran cereal and top-notch scones). Got my day started right.

The only thing I might mention is that the rug in my room in front of the fireplace either needs to be cleaned or replaced. Minor issue.

A wonderful quiet location in the middle of a residential area across the street from a state park, and State Beach. The facility is very clean and has a mountain cabin feel to it.. Our room had a fireplace which was wonderful, and a nice touch of popcorn and a popcorn maker.. Along with a welcoming glass of wine in the evening and pretty decent breakfast in the morning all included.. We met the owner, great guy good conversation.. Quite the character... The main lobby has quite a collection of golf memorabilia and miscellaneous sports memorabilia... As you can tell we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we'll go back next time we're in the area...

The location right near the beach, 5 minute walk, the owner Robert he is super funny and makes you feel right at home, the details in the apartment like the popcorn machine and very good pans and coffee. Don't expect super luxurious furniture, it is a bit outdated sometimes, but the beds were new and super comfy and we loved it. The pictiures don't do it justice, fe all the floors have been renewed (laminate) which makes a huge difference.also kudos to house cleaning,they came in every day and left it super tidy and clean. Oh and breakfast and wine between 5 and 7 pm are included!

From the moment we drove up the road to this property until leaving, we loved everything about it. The smell of the surrounding forests, the nearby ocean, woodsmoke coming from the fireplaces in the rooms was intoxicating, the air fresh, the room very large, comfortable and with a fireplace that enabled us to truly relax after long days in this gorgeous area. Breakfast was good, and the owner a very genial, friendly, welcoming and interesting man (see the large, signed poster of Bill Murray in the dining area). This is the kind of hotel that I can imagine people coming back to year after year, and if we lived closer, we would design our holidays around staying at this lovely hotel. Did I mention the 2 hot tubs and the generous glass of local wine offered to guests in the afternoons? I wish more hotels were styled like this delightful place to stay!

There was absolutely nothing to dislike.

The location is walking distance to the beach and the lighthouse. The nearby seafood restaurant is good. The fireplace and the in room popcorn is perfect for chilly nights since it is a bit windy there at night.

Simple continental breakfast items for those just want coffee and some pastries, and wine in the evening, but do us no good since we don't drink wine or coffee. One of rooms was next to a dog owner, and her dogs constantly barking. I didn't realize they have pets.

My family and I had a lovely stay here. We stayed 5 nights. The staff were absolutely wonderful and gave us top notch service. Our rooms were very clean and serviced regularly. We had a fireplace in our room and they provided wood. Jacuzzis complimentary wine and breakfast were great. Close to beach and grocery stores and nearby attractions absolutely wonderful homey stay. Will definitely return.

Such a cute place. Spacious rooms with wood fireplaces. Outdoor hottub, so bring swimsuits. Breakfast included + wine in the evenings! Close to everything in Monterey and Pacific Grove in a cute, quiet community. Lots of people walking dogs in the morning. The little touches made this a special experience. We will be returning.

No suggestions regarding our stay except that a gf breakfast option would be appreciated. It was otherwise a perfect 2-night stay for my partner and I. Thank you for your hospitality and suggestions. The evening wine and in-room popcorn machines were a definite plus. See you again soon!

Do not come here if you want swanky smart modern. But if you want clean comfortable good value with easy parking this place is a gem. The buffet breakfast was excellent (waffles and banana a real winner with some of our group) and the wine in the evenings a winner with others. There is also a great restaurant the Fish Wife a short walk from the property, and you can connect with great electric bike tours with Big Sur Adventures.

Most of the staff were lovely, but one was a little tense which made you feel on edge!

New flooring, eliminating carpets (which are horrible in sandy coastal areas), kept the rooms very clean. Bathrooms were large, well supplied, and curved shower curtains made the bath/shower feel even larger. Room had a gas fireplace, decent flatscreen tv, very comfortable bed, table, desk, microwave, refrigerator, popcorn popper, and excellent WiFi. The breakfast was not expansive, but it was decent and healthy. Two level 2 EV chargers are now on site. They were not free ($0.45 per kWh, plus $0.50 use fee), but operated at 40amps, not bad for commercial level 2 EVSEs. And the best is that you are right across from Asilomar, a wonderful State Park. This was our second stay and we WILL return.

We wish the EVSEs were free, but PG&E electric rates have climbed to ridiculous levels over the past several years, so the owners have to require payment.
